Didn't realize the Sunnyvale location is open! Same good food as the other locations. Came here on a late Thursday night and it was packed. Service was still very quick though. We sat outside with the heat lamps on. It was very cozy. The garlic naan and mango lassi are must orders. We also tried their Thursday special biryani. It was surprisingly light and not oily! I just left Zareens and watched as a staff member dropped a whole bottle container on the floor, stepped on it and then picked it up and served it to a table without even wiping it or anything. You're not going to take that top off the bottle container and send it through the wash ? You're just going to serve it like that to a customer at the front of the house ??? This was done right in front of the owner and/or manager and they did and said nothing about it. Absolutely disgusting. I'm sorry, but Zareens really needs to train their staff to follow hygiene protocols. This is a new location. We pick up a cup and it's got dark dirty marks on it. We order the fries with spicy dip, we have to ask for the spicy dip. Why when we are supposed to receive service is it this low in standards ? Not good. 1 star for the food but I'm going to stop supporting Zareens. The service is lacking always, and the attitudes of the staff are not good. I'm also afraid of getting sick here. A true 5-star restaurant! Zareen has an energetic atmosphere with great modern Indian music. We sat at the back of the restaurant under their newly installed, white-covered shading rooftop, which was a nice touch. Annie provided excellent service--she was friendly, welcoming, and made fantastic recommendations! We loved the pani puri, which was crunchy, tasty, and a bit sweet. My wife ordered the chicken biryani, and you could immediately smell the incredibly aromatic spices. I had the chicken boti thali with the masala sauce on the side. Everything was amazing. Very excited to see Zareen's open a location in Mountain View. We came by on a Tuesday around 6 and the place was busy. We were still able to get a table right away. We got a variety of thalis and samosa to share. I had heard a lot about Zareen's and assumed it was a more formal restaurant but the vibe is pretty casual. Our food came very quickly and was tasty. Although we ordered pretty standard fare, they do have some unique items like masala fries and a fried chicken sandwich. Friday Lunch at Zareen's Sunnyvale was awesome . It was busy but I can see a lot of delivery going out.

This new location was very disappointing. The mango lassi tasted like milk mixed with mango pulp can. We ordered garlic naan which were all so oily and burnt. The paneer tikka masala was very bland and had very tiny, only a few pieces of paneer. Halfway through my meal I noticed a bug was on my spoon. The chaat was okay it tasted very plain and was ice cold. Overall I will not be visiting again and very disappointed in my experience of this overpriced restaurant. read more

The chicken tikka was one of the highlights of our visit to Zareen's Sunnyvale. We really enjoyed it, and the whole meal felt like such a nice experience overall. I was excited to eat here, but the service was awful. We sat outside, and the staff moved the heater next to the other table that already had its own heater. The patio also felt extremely cramped, as if they were trying to fit in as many tables as possible. One of the meal came after we were done eating and the samosas never came. The server said they were out after waiting for 30 mins. Then, a different server came to our table and asked if we had received all of our order which only added to the confusion. Food was good. Service was poor. After ordering a vegetarian dish, my boyfriend received a dish containing meat (he is a vegetarian). He was shocked when he took a bite of his dish and discovered there was meat. When we politely informed the waiter of the issue, he immediately blamed us and said "you ordered that". When he pulled up our order, he saw that we did not order the meat dish and that he was wrong. We were very polite to the waiter. He did not apologize for blaming us for the mistake. I love Zareen's! I had been waiting for this location to up for a long time. When my friend came to visit California/the west coast for the first time I took her to the Palo Alto location and we both loved it. This location is on the newer side but is one of the best restaurants in downtown. The chicken tikka masala is literally life changing and a MUST order. Same goes for the garlic naan and their mango lassi is also SO GOOD. We also got the palak methi gosht for the first time here and it pleasantly surprised me. The server said it is her favorite and it was really good, would order again. The one thing that I docked points for is that we said no basmati rice but rice came out with the gosht we ordered and we were really confused. We waited and waited for the tikka masala to come out and we ended up finished the gosht and it still didn't come out yet. So we flagged down the waiter to ask and they apologized and said they should've checked in with us earlier. It came out a minute after but we did get charged for the rice we didn't order. I will be back since the food is that good but maybe since the restaurant is still relatively new the service is a bit lacking. read more

Was craving Zareen's and never knew they had one in Sunnyvale. I've previously been to the one in Palo Alto and loved it. This location only been open for 3 weeks and it's already super busy. The staff are very welcoming and our servers Maheer and Annie were very thorough in describing the dishes. 10/10 food as always with generous portions and the service was fast.
