I was surprised to see the bill showing a $2.50 up charge despite the burgers costing around the same amount and buns being needed anyway + no mention of any up-charge! Third: Our party included two adults + three children + a toddler + an infant. Somehow that warranted an automatic gratuity. We're normally generous tippers but it didn't feel right to have an amount pushed on us without disclosure. We would have tipped anyway despite the servers obvious fake smile and negative demeanor but this just added to the overall poor experience. Our family has no issue paying 25%, or more if service is exceptional, on $600 bills (often at steak houses more-so than regular restaurants) but I walked away feeling cheated here.

I tend to be a bigger fan of creamy tomato soups, but this one was rich with umami flavor and had a bit of a kick. While this is a counter-service restaurant that's pretty much no-frills, the employees were friendly and helpful. One of them refilled our water cups at the table, even though the pitcher she had was leaking, and I didn't get the sense that they normally did that. Sadly, they don't sell soft serve ice cream any more, but there are so many ice cream shops in this part of St. Augustine that you can easily walk somewhere else for dessert (which we did). I wasn't read out my order and told a random amount that was double my order, so not only did I have to correct his poor mistake.. but was LAUGHED AT several times while ordering a simple JUNIOR MEAL. I hope they hire better employees and start caring about their customers experiences, because I was more than happy to write this review so more people aware of locations like this.
