I went to Zaxby's for my first time based on a rave online review, wondering if their chicken fingers could be that good? I found that they really could be. I ordered at lunchtime from a fantastically outgoing counter staffer and took an order of 5 Chicken Fingerz and Onion Rings to go with Zax sauce. They were clearly freshly made because they were still very hot when I sat down to eat 10 minutes later. The Fingerz were perfectly done, lightly breaded, crunchy and juicy. They were great without the Zax sauce and even better with it. The Onion Rings were also fresh, well but not overly breaded, very hot and good with the sauce and with ketchup. I have been very pleased since they re-opened under new management earlier this year! Always very clean dining room & restrooms, staff & managers are super friendly, and I haven`t had an incorrect order yet! The Zalads are the bomb. And made to order! I`m a picky eater, so having the option to add or exclude certain items has definitely made it my top choice for lunch. Try the Cobb:) Another must try: the Homemade Chips. I absolutely love this Zaxbys's! Sometimes the order line is small, and sometimes it's big. Honestly, with the terrific food quality and the nice employees, I don't mind waiting in a line at all. My wife, kids, and I always can't wait to eat at this Zaxbys's. Have never been let down by Zaxby's. Fair prices, delicious food in reasonable if not huge portions and friendly staff. Today however they exceeded customer service and dazzled brighter than I could have asked. I dropped by to get lunch in between an errand and work just as they opened. I waiting a little while but nothing to worry about. The staff was courteous and attentive letting me know it would be just a minute. To my surprise when it was ready, they refused to charge and apologized for the wait time due to something with their computer system. Kindness and taking a proactive approach to handling an issue isn't what you tend to expect from a fast food place, but they delivered. Made my day and I paid it forward. I gladly support the positive attitude they share. Great food doesn't hurt me wanting to go back either! Kudos and thanks a million times. read more

If only I could give negative stars! Had to give one star to post a review. This place is awful. Ordered food and my order number was called for pickup before I finished getting my drink. Sat down and, imagine this, my food is about room temperature. So I returned to the counter and asked if I could get hot food. Was told it would be about 5 minutes for "fresh" tenders. Meanwhile, another patron brought their food back complaining that their food was cold too. Waited 10 minutes, still no food, so I went to the register to ask for a refund. You would think I had two heads and was speaking Swahili. Finally a girl gave me a refund to my card, but ....... wait for it...... it was less than my original receipt which was in her hand! Seriously? I had had enough, told her it wasn't worth wasting anymore of my time and left. This is the problem when you staff a restaurant with no one over 18 and leave them with no adult supervision. This location will be closed down again real soon if they don't get their act together! Save yourself the hassle and go across the street to Smithfield's and get fresh, hot and better tenders...... That's where we went after our Zaxbys disaster tonight. read more

Ordered the Kickin Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was dry except for the oil saturated toast so I asked for more sauce. They wanted to charge me 25 cents so I just ate it. The only condiment on the counter is ketchup yet the soda fountain has unlimited free refills. I just don't get it. I was very disappointed in going to Zaxby's today that I may never go to or recommend them to anyone for chicken wings. I worked a deal with my teenage kids to get some much needed yard work done that my wife and I would take them out for chicken wings. My kids love Quaker Steak and Lube but the closest is in Columbia, S.C., I looked on the Internet to see the menu and liked the prices and seen 2 in Wilmington, 1st. On Gordon rd. Note on the door dining room closed to not having staff. So we decided on this site. We walked in, I looked at the menu board and was floored at the prices. I mentioned to the cashier about the pricing being much higher then there website pricing and no disclaimer saying that pricing may be different. There was a $6 difference in pricing on the 20 piece wings that my 17 yr. old son wanted and $4 dollars in the 10 pcs. Wings. I asked the cashier about this and all she could say was that the Internet pricing is wrong and the pricing here is correct. It was to late to decide to go to Columbia, so I paid the price. I never seen wings so small and smothered in sauce. I was very disappointed and never got a manager to help us. I would recommend to go somewhere else. read more

Chicken wings -- good but not great. It took 23 minutes for my chicken wings to be ready. It seems the first two or three times I went to Zaxby's, the wings came out a lot faster than that, but not today. Maybe the slow service today was the exception rather than the rule? read more

This store closed down (3 weeks ago) and has YET to PAY their employees!!!! Sucks to be a teenager expecting a paycheck!

Went there 5 min after they were supposed to open and the doors but they were still locked. I watched three cars try to order but couldn't. They have great food but the management needs to know what time to open their doors. read more
