The falafel was as good as I've had west of Syria: light but substantial, dipped into incredibly rich and complex hummus. I have going here for years, all previous locations. I enjoy the food espeacially the Zanya fries. I took some work friends there today. The fries had a long hair in them. The waitress saw and offered to replace the garlic sauce. I was very embarressed. My coworkers were good sports about it and laughed it off. I expected a apology and perhaps a adjustment of the bill. We were excited about this dinner as we typically have a good experience in Syrian restaurants. Sadly it was an example that many high reviews can still be a wrong indication of the quality of food and service. While the service was ok, it lacked smiling from the entrance, through the meal till the exit. While the prices were not high as the California the quality of the food was average at best. The Mijadara was the best thing we got, everything else from lamb kifta, chicken shawarma, cauliflower, salad, etc were barely ok. I was on the hunt for a new favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Tucson area and came here because the almost 5 star rating average pulled me in! Well, let me first say the service was superb! Blake was our waiter and was on point the entire meal! The food was good. BUT, it lacked the Mediterranean flavors in a big way. The kifta tasted like what you would expect just regular ground beef or sirloin to taste like. The chicken tasted just like a grilled piece of white meat chicken. Their garlic sauce didn't have much garlic. Their chicken schwarma had the most flavor, but the flavor was curry and it tasted like Indian food. The side salad wasn't very tasty, I was missing lemon or vinegar flavor. The hummus was delicious. The pita was hot on arrival and accompanied our delicious hummus perfectly! Their teas were tasty, too! I had their mint tea. We even got our last refill of tea to go! Came here last Sunday for lunch. Our waitress was really cool and always kept our drinks full. I ordered the Gyro Sandwich with potato fries & my spouse ordered the Grill Sampler Plate and Falafels for appetizer. He really enjoyed his meal. My gyro was average and the fries were nice and hot. I noticed a young lady pouring a sauce over her sandwich, I asked our waitress what it was. She said it was hot sauce that they make. I asked her for a bottle of hot sauce and it was a whole game changer. I poured the sauce over my fries and gyro sandwich and it just took my sandwich to a whole new level. After reading all the reviews, I decided to order the Chicken Schwarma Plate, Lamb Kifka Plate, Zayna fries, and a piece of baklava. I don't give out many 5-stars review, but this one is deserving of it. The service was good for a Saturday at noon. It probably deteriorates at night when there's a huge crowd. The portions are huge here which is great since each plate is around $12-$14. Now, it's time to talk about the food. The chicken schwarma was served with hummus and pita, green beans, and a slice of tomato. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with crispy edges. My only minor complaint is that it was hard to scoop some pieces that were cut too small. The hummus was good as well. I liked the cooked green beans too. The lamb kifta was also very tasty and not too dry. The seasoning of the meat was definitely fantastic. I'm not a huge lamb person so I still prefer the chicken. The rice was fine-nothing special but it wasn't bad. The fries are potato wedges with garlic salt and some other spices along with lemon juice. Perfectly delicious and they have a garlic aioli for you to dip with. The baklava is a superb dessert. I picked the one with pistachios. The minor thing is that this baklava was extremely hard compared to other ones that I've had. Overall, a solid 5-star restaurant that I will definitely be returning to. read more

I really enjoyed the Gyro sandwich, the quality of the meat was actually very good. I didn't get that fatty film on the roof of my mouth like other gyro's I've had. Salad in the sandwich was fresh. And the side of potatoes with garlic sauce is absolutely tangy and savory! The food tasted great and the service was a great experience. I was told it could take about ten minutes to be seated but it maybe took five. I tried the different beers they have (2/3) and while they were not bad they were not exactly my style. They have a bit of a wine rase to them. But still good beers. I don't have any pictures from this place because we got takeaway. But I remember that we got the Za'tar bread and it was amazing as usual. Za'tar bread is pretty common in Mediterranean cuisine and it's always flavorful and seasoned well. I don't remember what my husband got but if I remember I think I got the beef kebab dish or beef kifta dish. The dish itself is always seasoned well and never too salty or peppery. I also ordered baklava, but they forgot to put it in the bag. When I called, they were kind and took my name and said the next time I order, I can use my name to get free baklava. It always turns me off when places forget something and I hardly give those places a second chance. But I will definitely give this place another chance. read more

One of the first restaurants I tried when moving to Tucson and it has become a staple in our go-to's. They used to be at a smaller location, but moved across the street into their own building with much more space. The staff is always great. We usually get the same thing (beef kifta plate and gyro plate) and are large portions. The garlic and onion are pretty strong in the food, but I love how it really enriches it. Sad to say the last few times I've gone, I have felt sick afterwards. Not sure if i'm becoming sensitive or something in the food, though it didn't taste any different than their usual fantastic flavors. read more

The food is here is really tasty. Some of the best Greek food I've had personally. The pita bread is soft and pillowy. The hummus has good flavor and isn't really grainy like others. I would recommend getting one of their sandwiches like the a gyro or the shish tawook so good. Really like the garlic sauce they add to it. Just moved from Denver not too long ago and we're getting finally getting around to a few restaurants. We've been here twice now and both times rocked! Tried the Falafel Sandwich, Lentil soup, and Tabbouleh Plate so far. The lentil soup has a very addictive unique taste and warms up a winter day in Tucson, highly recommended! The falafel sandwich was very tasty with a side of their fries. Add some of their patented hot sauce to kick it up a notch. The baba ghannuj is some of the best we've had at a Mediterranean restaurant. Tabbouleh plate was extremely fresh and full of flavor. Soup and all of our meals were vegan, which is another plus in our book. The service was exceptional. Both times we had friendly servers, the orders were filled quickly and the questions answered. We've gone on a busy night (15 min wait) and off-time. I'd recommend the off-time(3pm - 4:30 pm), you'll have the place to yourself. Good stuff Zayna! The chicken shawarma has really good flavor to it! The hummus was very good. The zayna fries weren't what I was expecting and had a Syrian spice on them. The spice was very good. However, they weren't evenly cut so the cook on them wasn't consistent. With that said, the pita was a little disappointing. I read another review that said the pita was grocery store quality and I'd agree. I was hoping for homemade pita, but it was pretty dry and stiff. They may make the pita in house, but if that's the case it's not made fresh and sits for awhile.
