Lots of people call this place the howling rays dupe, so I had to stop by. I got an order of their chicken sando and some tenders with a side of fries and mac n cheese. I have to say it's not super close to howling rays, but not many places are. This has a charm of its own though. It's closer to a 4.5/5 for me. Their chicken is juicy and the hot level wasn't too spicy. I thoroughly enjoyed their tenders more than the chicken sando. Overall, a great spot to check out. read more

I was craving a fried chicken sandwich and I've heard good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. Got the chicken sando combo which came with the sandwich, fries, and medium sized drink for about $12. The sandwich was good! I wouldn't go as far as Howlin' Rays type good, but I'm happy I have something so close to my house. Fries were solid. Service was quick even though it was a little busy. The restaurant is nice, open seating with windows looking onto the street. I'll probably come back to try the tenders next time. read more

Food took about 25 minutes to come out, but there was only 1 cook, so that was understandable. The sandwich was decent. The tenders were alright in texture. Moist, but not very tender. The biggest issue here was the salt level. They either did not brine the chicken for long enough or did not have enough salt in the brine. Could not enjoy the tenders due to blandness. It was out first time being here and the food was fresh and really good! My wife got boneless wings and she said how soft they were. Chris was very attentive and would go around and ask how everything was doing. It got a little busy but he still managed to go around ask everyone sitting inside how they were doing. I've been to this place a few times since they've opened and I wanna say the chicken sandwich here tastes really good, trust me I have tried many hot chicken spots. Medium spicy is a good balance of heat, and the comeback sauce with fries is nice. I also want to point out that the customer service here is top notch when ordering inside or at the drive-thru. It can take some time to receive your order depending on how busy it is but I don't mind the wait since it's cooked fresh. Def would recommend. read more

Came by for a quick lunch. Not the biggest fan of hot chicken but thought it would be a good option due to the ratings. Food was great (super juicy chicken and seasoning wasn't too overpowering). My one comment would be that I think the comeback sauce could use a little bit more tang/zest. From the crushed ice, sturdy to-go containers, and cleanliness of the restaurant, you can tell the owner really cares about his business and pays attention to the little details. HANDS DOWN the best hot chicken place I've been to!! This place throws Dave's hot chicken out the PARK. This place is so real and authentic, the flavors are genuine and best believe they use fresh ingredients. I used to think I could handle mango habanero but after coming here you know they use the real stuff cuz that was HOT also highly HIGHLY recommend their chicken and waffles and their zecto fries both were spectacular. Really nothing special about this place. The chicken had no unique special seasoning taste to it. All I could taste was the heat and oil. The mild was very bland and the hot was just hot, that's it , no other flavor. The Mac n cheese is so bland, it tastes like the boxed Mac n cheese. The fries were ok. Their lemon pepper sauce is the worse tasting sauce I have ever tasted. Nothing at all like winstop lemon pepper flavor. In conclusion, I went and tried but won't be back. read more

Came looking for a late night snack. Did not disappoint. Excellent service from who I perceive to be the owner. Super stand up guy. They give a BUNCH of food especially for the price. Everything pictured came out to be $25. The cauliflower fries were good BUT I'm going to get the sauce on the side next time. I think that would just elevate the crispiness I was looking for. (Everything was still pretty crispy especially at the bottom). The sides are definitely underrated. Super simple but delicious. Not overwhelmingly sauced up or anything. I've been yearning for a hot chicken spot in my neck of the woods and Zecto's totally fits the bill! I love that it's halal so my Muslim friends can enjoy the meals here but also can we talk about how nice everyone is at this place? This place is legit. The various heat levels to choose from are accurate. The hot is pretty darn hot. Next time I will try the extra hot. The prices are fair considering today's crazy economy. I got the xhot Sando and a side of Mac n cheese. The sandwich was a little smaller than I expected, but considering the price it's a good deal. I don't need a 1800 Cal sandwich for $15 like other places. The XHot wasn't as spicy as I expected, but hit a good spot that I'm sure they can ramp it up if they release the next level up. And I have come bearing important information for the people of the world: Zecto Hot Chicken is the name. Now, before we proceed, I have one small complaint--and I feel compelled to bring this matter before the International Council of Chicken Size Standards. The Jumbo Tenders aren't quite as jumbo as they used to be. Over the last year, those tenders have apparently been on a wellness journey. A fitness journey. A "let's-watch-the-carbs" journey. C'mon!!! Tell those chickens to hit the gym! We need 'em JUMBO! We're not asking for a tender with a six-pack. We're asking for the glorious, magnificent, borderline-obnoxious chicken tenders of yesteryear. Bring back the jumbo! Let the tender be tender. Let it be enormous. Let it cast a shadow over the fries. And then there is another matter that has left me emotionally devastated: NO COKE?!? (Incognito Cough) --A cola, that is. I walked in with dreams. I walked out with questions. Folks, I'm going to say this as delicately as possible: You need Coca-Cola. There are certain fundamental pillars of civilization. Shelter. Electricity. Chicken. And Coca-Cola. Zecto has no Coke products, and frankly, my therapist and I are still unpacking this. BUT... This chicken is legitimately delicious. Allow me to provide your starter hint, your breadcrumb on the trail to enlightenment: Lemon Pepper Boneless Wings. Start there. That is your gateway. That is your introduction. That is the little chicken-shaped door through which you enter the promised land. If that Lemon Pepper seasoning doesn't blow your mind, I'm afraid your palate may be suffering from a severe and previously undiagnosed case of Missing Taste Bud Syndrome. Highly recommend!! Finally a good hot chicken spot in the area! My husband is a wing man and he said the wings were perfect - and there are various sauce options that were good. I had the loaded fries and the chicken tenders and was so happy I got them- usually chicken tenders are mostly breading on dry chicken but these were moist with a light breading and great flavor even in the breading. The Zecto fries were good, I love the mango habanero, no complaints. Unfortunately, the spicy chicken sandwiches were disappointing.
