Let me share my experience. Very unprofessional behaviour. First of all, I made appointment for car appraisal weeks ahead. I came over 10 minutes ahead. I was waiting patiently for 30 minutes pass the appointment, just to be told by Selena Castelo that I have to wait more time or reschedule for Monday. Very rude and unprofessional staff. Why bother with appointments if you make customers wait anyway. Make it FCFS and than no problem at all. Waist of time. BAD BUSINESS!!! Second think that came to my attention is that employees does not were masks or social distancing. Gentleman whose office is the first on the right from parking lot entrance, parade without face covering mask, touch customers and shake hands with people around. Good job with spreading COVID-19! After harassing Sam the sales manager for DAYS he finally agreed to get it fixed. He used the words "we sell the car as-is" not 24 hours after selling the car to me. What a joke. Now... fast forward a year, I go to sell the car to a new dealer and they say verbatim "whoever you bought this car from screwed you. It's from Canada. I can't recommend avoiding this place strongly enough. I was looking at a car here, and made an appointment to go see it. Someone from the dealership texted and called me multiple times leading up to my appointment to remind me. I made the 35 minute drive to the location, and then sat in a waiting room for almost an hour. Nobody working there was wearing a mask. Some guy finally came back to get me. I asked him where the person I'd spoken with on the phone was, and he told me she "doesn't work at this location". Funny that she never thought to let him know I was coming, or coordinate with someone at the location to work with me. Ah, but that's not the best part! The guy then told me the car I'd been asking about was sold. And he told me this matter-of-factly, sort of like it was my fault for not knowing. I stormed out of there and made the 40 minute drive back home, my afternoon completely wasted. I called the woman I'd spoken with, and she told me that when cars are sold it can take 24 hours to reflect on their website. I guess it's not possible for her to check with the small staff there whether a car a customer is coming out to see is actually available. But hey, what difference is it to her? She just wanted me to come to the dealership regardless of whether she knew the car I wanted was gone, because she can just try to pass off some other car on me, right? I'm just some idiot who wants to buy a car, right? My time or respect means nothing to them, only my money. So, if you enjoy patronizing businesses that have no regard for you, your time or your personal safety (no masks), and who probably won't even have the product you are looking for, then by all means, go here. Really wish I had read all these yelp reviews before I went to this place to purchase a vehicle. I went here because I literally live up the street and thought it would be convenient to do business with a dealership so close to home. BIG MISTAKE I bought a Ford Escape in October 2018. In the time that we've had it, we've had to bring it in for repairs many times. With the amount of money we've spent on it on top of the sale price, we could have just purchased a band new vehicle elsewhere. The cherry on the top of the situation was two weeks ago when the transmission died. When I test drove the vehicle, without me even asking any questions the salesman said "if you feel the vehicle lurch a little it's the eco boost engine kicking in, it can be a little jumpy until the engine warms up entirely" I didn't think anything of it until a few month later when I started reading up about Ford and the recent issues they've had with bad transmissions. Looking back I realize that they KNEW the trans was going bad and cooked up a lie to tell people to try and play it off like it was something else. The first time I had to bring it in for repairs I took it to the service center just off Cermak and Harlem. They charged me over $200 just to diagnose the issue. Something felt off so I brought it to a mechanic in LaGrange and low and behold, what the service center had said the problem was with the vehicle was wrong. It was something completely different. I'm so angry. I'm now stuck with this vehicle because I would lose a lot of money trying to sell it at this point and am terrified of what is going to go wrong next. Don't trust these people with your hard earned money. Go to Continental in countryside. We purchased our other vehicle from them 8 years ago and their customer service has been top notch. Their service center is amazing and most importantly they won't sell you a lemon. read more

TDLR; don't believe the 5star reviews! unprofessional, no sense of covid procedures, no promise they're clean, pushy. Our experience was as follows: Seemed quite nice at first, made an appointment to get our truck appraised. We are on time for our appointment. But those are apparently handled at the business center. With no communication to the location. The sales man had a mask on for half a moment before promptly removing it and inviting us to sit in his office. And seemed unsettled when we asked him to have his mask on. No one asked why we were there, just assumed we were buying. He started taking our info and looking at the website for some cars on the lot. We find one. Awesome! Except for the extra 995.00$ to pay for advertising for the car, it's travel here and the repairs that they had already done to it. Why am I paying for what you have in the lot? And for their advertising of it?? Then they start talking about our income. How we should fudge the details a little. Asking for Deeper information for it. When we said "we aren't interested in having our credit ran today based off this. We are strictly here for information" they didn't seem pleased. We allowed them to take the keys. Finally I couldn't stay seated. This was when we noticed the lack of ANYONE with a mask. Let me tell you. THERE ARE NO MASKS HERE. No one. Wears one. Owner. Businessmen. Etc. they did offer to accommodate my partner and I wearing our masks. It's not like covid just started. Or the rules have changed. We left the building to retrieve our keys. One of the manager appearing to have followed us out. Asking if everything was okay. I expressed with calmness that I do not feel safe, I am not interested in shopping here. My daughter bought a car there, was told at the time it needs a new battery and belt, and to bring it back on Wednesday. Next day car would not start. My daughter got stuck in the middle of the rode and at night. We had to spend $150 on towing.Dealership was called next day and towed the car back to dealership. We received a call from mechanic that there was nothing wrong with the car, but they will change battery and the belt. The car would still give her a hard time starting and check engine light came on. When they towed the car we told them that the tower truck driver told us it's spar plugs, the mechanic laughed and told my daughter that tow truck driver is not a mechanic. When we went to check on the check engine the computer showed an issue with spar plugs. We fixed the spar plugs ourselves but I at this point did not believe a word this dealership said about the condition of the car, so I took it to another mechanic. I was told by this mechanic that it had bad breaks,air filter missing, air box has a big whole, tube busted, break booster about to go out and hot spots on the rotor. read more

The website allows for pictures and a full evaluation of the full condition of the truck which I reported completely. Ziegler's used car manager emailed me and offered me $6000 or better (written in an email). I made an appointment and after waiting for an hour was given an offer of $2500. Went there today after being called by "Brandy" on the phone several times. I explained my situation, credit score (in the 600's) and all that. Told her I was going for the no money down program and she told me she had already secure financing for me with no money down and no payments for 90 days. I had a friend take me there from Indiana which took over an hour. I called "Brandy" several times before I got there to confirm everything and never got a call back or got to speak to her. When I get there some dude named Ivan ended up helping me instead. That took another two hours for him to tell me that he got me approved for no money down, but they didn't have anything on the lot in that range so they want $3,000 down. WTF?! If you want $3,000 down then that's definitely not a no money down finance plan. I would never recommend anyone go to this place. read more

This location sold us a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and showed us a CarFax for a car from the United States with no accidents. When we had an issue with a certain part a year later, I contacted a Jeep dealership to see if it was still under warranty. Come to find out, it was still under warranty however the CarFax Ziegler showed us was not for the car we purchased and they actually sold us a rebuilt from Canada so the warranty is only valid in Canada. I understand everyone has to make a buck but to blatantly lie about what you're selling is inexcusable. Gave them our parameters of what we wanted and they stayed within those parameters. They close at 8 but they both stayed past 9 to get everything done. This is the worst dealership I've ever been to. I bought a Mercedes-Benz C-Class with them last year and I'm still learning the horrible mysteries about the car till today. First of all, I spent 6 hours at the dealership the day I bought my car. They kept going back and fourth and wouldn't give me the key to the car I was planning on trading in. The main sales manager and a sales person name Katy lied about all the online specs of the car before I got there. When I got to the dealership the car was missing a navigation system, it was only a two wheel drive, it was not the premium class they promised, and they couldn't give me an adequate key that didn't break apart. When I got there and noticed these missing key factors the main manager promised he would mail me the navigation chip, extra set of keys, and anything else missing that was on the ad. Well.. he lied I've reached out multiple times and still no response back. Today I tried getting the car appraised to sell it and I found out from multiple dealerships that the car had actually been in an accident that was never report on the history and can't be tracked with the vin number. This adds on to the already bad service I received at the dealership and now a bigger problem. DON'T EVER EVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY'RE SHADY AND WILL SCREW YOU OVER!! read more

My husband and I purchased a van from Ziegler about 5 months ago. Our salesman was Odie who was very easy to talk to and professional. I held off writing a review for the reasons below. - 3 days after we purchased the vehicle it began overheating. We had a 15 day warranty so my husband brought it back to Ziegler. The issue was taken care of. - 1 week later (still within the 15 day warranty) the ignition shorted out. The van SHUT OFF while my husband was driving 40 mph on his way to work. He was able to get the van to start so he drove it directly to this location. Odie was not happy he brought the vehicle back again explaining it is a used vehicle. My husband responded by saying he understands it's a used vehicle....BUT IT SHOULDN'T SHUT OFF WHILE HE WAS DRIVING IT. He demonstrated the issue and was then taken seriously. My husband spoke to a mechanic at Ziegler that had a bad attitude and made multiple snarky comments- not helpful. The van was sent to a dealership to get fixed. Odie did supply us with another smaller car while the van was being fixed. - About 2 months ago while I was driving 70 mph on I-57 the transmission blew out. I was left on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with a smoking vehicle. I had to be towed 71 miles back home at a cost of $436. Then, another $60 tow to a private mechanic because Ziegler wouldn't be able to service the vehicle for a week. We couldn't wait that long. The van is still under warranty so the transmission was covered BUT we still had to pay a little over $500 for the work. If this vehicle was inspected there is NO WAY the faulty transmission could have been overlooked. Today, 11/25/2019, I was on my way to work when the van broke down again! I am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY about this purchase. read more

She judged me because, I'm a young male that I have no money and that she must run my credit to see if I even qualify for the vehicle..(Remind you I live an hour away). Then she asked for my keys so her manager could appraise my car without me signing any type of consent sheet or anything... then they told me to go grab my other trade. I reminded them I live an hour away and I asked them how much am I getting for my first trade in she said " grab your other trade in". I left didn't come back for a couple of days to see if the car would still sit and it did because they got the car in for $64,410 but they just have on their extra fees to help make them money and can't be flexible On the price. So I came back brought back in my other trade and some kid appraised it because Katie can't handle having 2 customers and they told me they want to run my credit. I told them NOOOO!!!! And he said well you can talk to Katie about giving you price. So I left and called Katie later on and she told me her Boss said they will not tell me how much they are giving me for my trade nor telling me how much the total of the car is. I came across a truck online the Ziegler's pre owned of Chicago had listed, I called and got hung up on 3x, I should have taken it as a sign, i finally got through on the fourth call, they said yes come on down and take this 2014 for a ride, driving from DeKalb Illinois it took an hr and 10 minutes, i get there and the gal isn't there, so they try pushing financing on me after I explained that I have my own financing, take this truck thats listed for $25,000 for a ride, when you hit a bump the entire front end sounds like it was ready to fall off. So the saleswoman says well there is someone else that is at the lot who is interested, we parked the truck and I got under the front end, Balljoints need replacing, the radiator oozing with fluid as well as oil from the cooler, inside of the tires were worn.. Needless to say i told them to fix it and we can talk, I walked out and made the trip home. She called and said they sold it to the other guy.. Really? Was told would be replaced during sale but never was. Had it inspected afterwards by certified service center from the actual manufacturer. Battery had to be replaced but Zeigler did not want to reimburse even with full documentation. Will be reporting to all necessary agencies. Beware. read more

So I found myself in the market for an inexpensive car for one of my kids in college. After searching online I landed on a nice VW Jetta that Zeigler had. Now I had read their horrible reviews but I wa paying cash and have a good mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection so I figured that I would give them a chance. I live about 45 minutes away from their location so I called and spoke with a sales lady about the car and confirmed that I would come in the next morning to take a look. The next morning I called and spoke with the same lady to confirm that I was on my way. When I get there a different lady takes my name and email address before informing me that the car is not there. Of course, I express my frustration with having to waste 2 hours but she is only focused on trying to get me look at something more expensive. At this point there are too many red flags so I leave. A couple of days later I get an email from the sales manager asking about my experience. I respond explaining what happened and of course he never even responds. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND! I bought a car from them in August 2018 from a lady named Kate. She was very nice but knew nothing about the car she was helping us with. Promised us a bunch of marks would be touched up and in the end the biggest mark was fixed in agreement. That's Fine. They gave me a rental for the week and told me they would call when done which Kate said a couple of days. It was a week after and we called them asking about the car I actually had purchased and they said oh it's done. So we come and pick up the car and it's filthy. Mud everywhere on the inside of the car, the seats needed vacuumed. But we over looked that. Kate later on said she would give us the second set of keys(the car only came with one) when she receives them in from the dealership they bought my car form initially. Multiple texts went by of her stating she would get the keys and then she disappeared. So I contacted her boss Joe. Joe told us Kate never told us she would give us a second set of keys for my Nissan Rogue I bought. I showed him the texts she sent me stating she would get them for me. Joe took us over from then on. Which I will say JOE was thee only one who knew anything about Customer service and he was really the one who sold us my car not Kate. A month went by and joe finally told us to get them made by the Nissan dealership. So we get them made and then I send joe the bill which he said Zeigler would take care of and reimburse me for the cost. TWO WEEKS went by after that I sent him the bills. I got in contact with him after and he later said he wasn't with ZEIGLER anymore and to contact the GENERAL MANAGER named FRANK. What a mess. And now FRANK is stringing me along with saying he will get back to me. It's been two weeks with the guy and still NO reimbursement. This place is an absolute joke and no one should take their money here. All they do is jerk you around even after you buy a car from them. EMPTY PROMISES. And quite honestly I'm in contact with Ziegler's GENERAL MANAGER and STILL nothing is getting done. It is now October 22nd and I STILL have not gotten my money back for the keys I was TOLD by Ziegler's manager to go and get made. read more

She said she'd get the car to the lot as soon as possible. We waited 50 minutes for the car to get there. While we were waiting, the sales woman got into an argument with another sales woman over who was going to take us on a test drive. Needless to say, we never went on a test drive and just left. I inquired about a car online and received an email from a Melany saying that I was approved for any used car between 2008-2015 based on my income. I scheduled and appointment to meet with her the next night at 6pm. I was exchanging texts with Melany during the day to discuss what documents I should bring in, to confirm and to let her know I was near. We drove an hour to get there and guess what? She wasn't there. That is poor service right there, being in a sales position my entire life. Anyways, a young man by the name of Javier was helping us. He was great, just doing his job. I gave an amount that I'd like to be at for my monthly payment and it was good for an hour. My credit was ran, I test drove and I was about to sign the papers. Javier came back at the last second saying that my payment would be almost $200 more a month than originally quoted. I left. I did the math and they were trying to charge me 30%.
