Once again, Zeke's exceeded our expectations. The consideration they show for special dietary needs (gluten free) and a shellfish allergy is incredibly accommodating. We were served an exceptional meal, at the servers (Josh) recommendation I enjoyed the swordfish served with a creamy grits and asparagus side, and my husband had scallops with a maple glaze. We also shared an incredible wedge salad and delicious crème brûlée for dessert. The wine list is well rounded with domestic and imported options. The Charmant Chardonnay I had was served at the perfect temperature and paired well with the swordfish. This place is a must stop when visiting the orange beach area. This was my first experience at Zeke's. I've been going to Gulf Shores for many years and have tried many restaurants that have come and gone. I wish I'd come here sooner! The atmosphere was awesome. We sat at a table outside where we could see the water and the marina. Our server was extremely friendly who was accommodating about allergies. The food and drink orders did take time to get filled, but honestly, this is one place that you don't want to rush through. The food was top notch. We ordered the salmon dip and skillet cornbread --- both were quickly devoured by the 7 of us. The fried grouper and fries were perfect portions for me, and nicely washed down with the mango daiquiri. An added bonus --- this is one of the few places you can make a reservation ahead of time in the area for large groups. Hopefully the next time we head to Gulf Shores, we'll make a return trip. read more

We wanted to find a place close to our condo after traveling all day and Zeke's fit the bill. We were quickly greeted and seated. We both had the grouper dinner with Brussel sprouts added as a side. Our waitress was very attentive even with taking care of several other tables and a large group. Our last trip to Orange Beach (2 yrs ago) we came here for our first night supper and saved the best for last this time. It again did not disappoint. The setting, service, and the food were again wonderful. We will come every time we vacation here. Family of 5 left comfortably full and every member said this was the highlight of our meals. Chase was our server. He was fast friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. This was our first place to eat while visiting Orange Beach. We ordered the Blackened Cobia with dirty rice and a cream gravy comes with it. The 2nd entree was the Southern Fish Fry- grouper was the fish in that selection. Added on a side of shrimp. We also ordered a half pound of shrimp (hot) with cocktail sauce. Yummy! Drinks were Long Island iced tea (top shelf) and a Zeke's Lady (vodka, limoncello, etc. cute flower on top) Great experience here. Chase was super cool and fun. He gave the right amount of service. Let me preface by saying I don't normally complain or even write reviews, but the price and quality of this meal deserves what I'm about to say: Mediocre food. I got the southern fried fish platter which was supposed to be fried grouper. The ONE piece of fish I got tasted and looked like frozen cod, over cooked as well. It came with the blandest coleslaw ever, which was also hot because they had put my meal in the oven to keep warm I guess. Tartar sauce was basically sugary mayonnaise with a hint of lemon. Not good. I was and still am very disappointed in my plate, all around, especially for $28! Our outside table area had an overall urine smell too. Berry Mojito was good and our waitress was so nice and helpful. My friend said the blackened cobia was the bomb too. Other than that, don't waist your time and money. read more

Beautiful waterfront views and exceptional service. We enjoyed a drink at the bar and the mixologist prepared two terrific Manhattans . Our dinner server, Michael, was very friendly and efficient. Our meals were delicious. Grouper Bites appetizer was unique and tasty, Scallops: there were a mere three scallops in the entree and were presented with Brussels Sprouts instead of asparagus as mentioned on menu, and a very admirable Saturday special: Lobster Arancini. This was a reservation for 2 couples. Arrived on time and led way back to a long narrow porch with plastic coverings over screens looking over a marina. It was difficult to see/enjoy the view through the plastic and only two of us at our table could see out anyway. Even as staff walked by our table many times carrying a pitcher of ice water, we signaled by turning our glasses up and finally had to catch the lady to ask for water. After 10 minutes a mature lady came over, apologized for the wait and asked to take our drink order. We ordered a bottle of wine, martini (both good) and a forgettable fried appetizer. Two of our group were satisfied with their food and two of us weren't. One who ordered the recommended grouper said it wasn't as good as he had anticipated. My shrimp and grits were ok shrimp on a bed of mush. I do not recommend it here. Shrimp and grits at my house or at my secret place in Atlanta is much better. Also it got to be so noisy in there that we couldn't converse across the table. This place had been recommended as one of the top restaurants in the area. It was expensive which made it even more disappointing. read more

Came in with high high hopes because this was a place recommended by so many people. Unfortunately the service did not live up to the hype. We came for drinks, apps and entrees, and was only able to order drinks and apps because the service took way too long. Our server Zoe was nowhere to be found, and another server Jonathan stepped up. (Shoutout to him) After getting our drinks/apps order, we wanted to order our entree, however after waiting over 20 minutes for Zoe to get to us, we decided it wasn't worth it to order our entree. Even though our appetizers came out, not a napkin or silverware was in sight. We had to eat our appetizers with our hands. Despite trying to flag a server down multiple times, I was met with futile attempts. Ignored on multiple occasions, me and my family left with disdain. The whole time we ate, not once were we checked up on. In a restaurant full of white folks, we were the only Asians. While I don't think it had anything to do with race, my cousins think it may have. So any Asians reading my review, please take this with a grain of salt. We felt discriminated and ostracized. Also the food was mediocre. We ordered fried calamari and the tuna poke appetizer. I ordered the $28 fried fish meal. My complaint lies within the portions here. As you can see in the picture, there is a mound of fries and literally one piece of fried fish. The fries were fine and the fish was decent tasting, but it was literally one piece of fish for $30... Very confusing as to why they have a pound of french fries and one sad piece of fish on top for a main entre for dinner..I have been to shrimp basket across the parking lot and even they give you 3-4 pieces of fish along with the same amount of fries that are the same quality for half the price of this... read more

Updating my review. Since they renovated the restaurant, they have been on point in both service and food. I have had the Fried Oysters, Wedge Salad, Lobster Roll, the Shrimp Boil, and the Surf and Turf Burger. Every meal has been delicious. Today I ordered the Surf and Turf Burger Medium Rare, the first came out a bit overdone, but our server, Abigail made sure that we were taken care of in a short time. Kudos to Zeke's....we will be back! And kudos to our server Abigail....big shout out!!!! We watched the CFB games outside...great venue and plenty of TVs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

Zeke's has a beautiful compound with a restaurant, marina and also offers charter services. The restaurant has a fantastic waterfront patio that looks out to the bay and marina. It is a very modern vibe inside the restaurant and both the appearance of the restaurant and the prices on the menu would indicate this is more of a fine dining establishment. Now finding good help these days is a definite challange across the board and definitely in the restaurant industry so sadly the service here simply doesn't meet the standards of a fine dining experience. During my visits here I found my servers to be less than familiar with the menu or the available options that can be ordered. I don't eat pork and one of the fish options I was interested in had sides that I was 99.9% certain all had pork in them as in New Orleans they 100% would (dirty rice and then crawfish with tasso). So I asked the server if I could substitute those sides with something else and she came back and said there would be an upcharge (crawfish have been really expensive this year) so I don't think my requested sides of broccolini and coleslaw merited a price increase but rather a price decrease! In the eating department I found my food experience here was less than stellar unfortunately. I ordered what to me seemed to be an expensive shrimp scampi... I was extremely disappointed to discover only 5 shrimp in my pasta so essentially I mainly got a plate of VERY overpriced pasta... I ordered this dish after being unable to get the fish dish with the sides I wanted... so these were very costly shrimp! For the price point of the shrimp scampi I could have gotten a pile of oysters and shrimp at most other restaurants in the area. A gentleman at another table next to me was attempting to order the whole red snapper and he was irate when he discovered that his $50 fish he was attempting to order didn't include any sides and that he would have to pay extra for any sides so based on that he stormed out of the restaurant. Overall this is a beautiful space with some very interesting food options but falls short in service and presenting basic choice options most other restaurants offer. I've eaten at most of the restaurants in New Orleans, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach so I'm pretty familiar with fresh fish and other seafood pricing in the area and it seems the prices at Zeke's are on average higher here for what you get. The best experience I had here was when I just ordered the cheeseburger so I guess the sandwiches are the way to go here unless you want to endure the sticker shock of the fresh seafood options and have some money to burn. I think management could make some very simple changes to operations here to greatly improve the experience of customers. read more

We were looking for a good seafood boil, and we found it! It was very good and a great price for the amount of seafood you get. My daughter got a burger and the amount of fries they give is very generous! Avery was our server and was amazing! Great personality and we really enjoyed chatting with her. I'm giving 4 stars because the lobster roll was absolutely pathetic for over $30. It barely had any lobster on it, looked like an appetizer or a child's meal. The good: the conecuh sausage and crawfish gravy was amazing. We had it on the cornbread appetizer. The cornbread was so so, but that gravy was something else. I liked it so much I doubled down on it and got the blacked cobia. Cobia was fantastic, seasoned well, and I'd definitely eat it again. I also really enjoyed the baked oysters. Everyone else at the table got the crab and ate every bite. The so-so: our waitress was okay. She was nice enough but didn't really seem all that into being at work. For some reason, everyone's food got rang up under individual tickets, so all the entrees came out separately spaced out over a total of 10-15 minutes. We were also supposed to get extra bread for an appetizer, which our waitress suggested, but the bread was never brought. She realized she forgot, mentioned it, and still didn't bring any out. Maybe just an off night, but this place is pretty expensive. The dirty rice tasted good, but wasn't cooked long enough. Lots of little crispy bits of rice. All in all, it was still pretty good and I'd eat here again. The sausage crawfish gumbo alone is enough to make me want to go back. read more

Another night in Orange Beach, another local restaurant to try. I'm certainly glad we did. First, the drinks. My wife had a couple of tasty Old Fashioneds (I had one as well), but I started the experience with the Bushwhacker. Wow!! So good! All everyone advertises down here are "Bushwhackers". Never had one until this meal, and I can not believe I've been missing out for so long. Think frozen White Russians but better! Added peanut butter whiskey, and this made the entire experience awesome! Second, our server Isabella (H) was fantastic!! Friendly, helpful, joking, quick; the list goes on forever.
