Nope. When I go to Orange Beach I don't expect the quality of seafood to be trumped by what we get back home in Tulsa. Sadly, that was the case. The food was bland with little to no flavor. I had the lobster roll simply because they aren't on many menus back home. One place in Tulsa has them and they do them far better for far less money. The tuna steak my wife ordered was lifeless and flavorless. My french fries tasted as though they'd been on a permanent hold under a heat lamp for hours. Stale and inedible. I'm so tired of these places throwing up brick and mortar, impersonating a top tier restaurant and putting out crap. The food was way below the bar we set. I can name 20 restaurants in Tulsa I'd recommend any day of the week over Zeke's. In reality I'd never recommend Zeke's because it was truly that bad. What an absolute disappointment and disaster for our date night, without the kids, our second to last night in Gulf Shores. Should have listened to others recommendations instead of going with the place I found on Yelp. Yelp has let me down a few times lately and I'm wondering if people equate spending a lot of money with getting quality? Because they are not one in the same. In fact there really is no correlation or at least there sure hasn't been lately. Keep driving and find somewhere else to dine because this place is not good. Trust me when I say this. I'm still upset this is where I took my beautiful wife for our date. Epic fail. This place is clearly on cruise control and doesn't care about the sub par meals they're serving. The ambiance was great. However, we were not impressed with the service. Sitting us seemed like we interrupted their conversation. We were asked inside or out. We choose out. We were the only ones not seated under the tent. We would have preferred that since it sprinkled all week. But we got lucky and didn't get wet. I guess our server was just coming on shift because it took a long time for her to even greet us. Then we were rushed, even though it was not busy and we were ordering alcoholic drinks so not just taking space. Once we ordered food it was not very good especially for the price. The fried shrimp appetizer was only 7 for $18. It didn't have much flavor and one of them still had the shell on. Then my husband and I shared the peel and eat shrimp. Again no flavor. She bugged us until we got our food and then checked on us once and never brought what we requested. Broccolini was $9. I love it so I thought well I'll splurge. It was bolting so the flavor was off. So I wasted that $9. My husband got the Cajun rice and said it was good. My son ordered shrimp scampi. The lemon overpowered the dish. If they cut back on the lemon it could be great. Needless to say, we were disappointed with what we got for the price. Thinking if you like oysters it may be more to your liking. Also, no draft beer and the mixed drinks were average. read more

When you're paying over $200 for a wine pairing dinner you expect to be comfortably seated so you can enjoy the meal and experience. When Cassidy Norris tried to add a 5th chair to my side of the table that seats 4 and I Spoke up she got all pissy and proceeded to tell another customer what i said right in front of me. She was stressed because her planned seating wasn't working out but she had no right to treat me like I was at a buffet that cost $5 bucks. If she had only come to me after she figured it all out and calmed down I would have accepted her apology but she didn't. I enjoyed my friends, wine, and the chefs delicious meal. Ate a late lunch here and chose to sit inside due to temps outside. Got the Bread Service appetizer which was really good. Two of us ate the blackened cobia which was really tasty and one got the steak sammie. The fries are in fact perfectly seasoned. The hoagie roll was soft and fresh. The fish was seasoned perfectly and the crawfish cream sauce really makes the dish. The dirty rice was good as well. My only complaint was the service. We sat at our table for quite some time before someone that wasn't our waiter took our drink orders and said she would get our waiter. Finally not too long after that our waiter came to take our order and she did not come back to our table until we were done with our meal. There were a lot of people sitting outside so maybe it was because we were inside. She was nice and pleasant, but just didn't check with us for drink refills. We enjoyed our family dinner at Zeke's. The food was great, including the children's chicken finger meals. Not your standard children's menu frozen fingers and crinkle cut fries. They had fresh cut fries and fresh fried chicken. The grilled tuna was outstanding, though a little disappointing I had to order a side given it didn't come with one. The star of the show was blackened cobia with conecuh gravy and dirty rice. Would happily eat here again. read more

Okay... REALLY Impressed with this place! It is SO nice on the inside and nice ambiance outside as well! We went for lunch and it did not disappoint. We started with the bread service which is cornbread and a crawfish sauce. Very yummy. Although the cornbread did taste like Jiffy mix. I'm more of a savory cornbread kinda gal. I ordered a bushwhacker to drink. It was one of the best ones in OBA in my opinion. Next time I would add a topper though to balance out the sweetness. For my entree I ordered the Steak Sammie. LOVED it. The onions were perfectly caramelized. All the flavors of that sandwich go together really well. And the BREAD. The bread is so soft and buttery. My husband got the Steak Frites. The chimichurri sauce was excellent and really made the dish. Also, the fries that came with both dishes were hot, fresh, and sprinkled with flaky sea salt. I love a good French fry! Absolutely perfect lunch complete with perfect service. Our server was very attentive and on top of it. We WILL be back!!! read more

I decided to stop in at Zeke's on my walk tonight to grab a burger to go. I ordered a California cheese burger, and enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting, then walked home about a mile, and it was still warm. I absolutely devoured it! This was the best burger I have EVER had...and we're talking 70 years of enjoying many here and internationally. It was melt in your mouth delicious! I'll only come here if I want a cheese burger. Living in OBA is living in paradise and to have a restaurant like Zeke's is icing on the cake. We took some out of town guests for dinner Thursday night and they did not disappoint. We stopped by the bar and the bartenders were great and very friendly. Once we set at our table, our server Sara, was amazing. She was on point with everything. We could not find anything that we was looking for to eat coming to the coast. Well - we chose Zeke's based on rating . The atmosphere is awesome , Drink Bourbon Mash was mostly berry juice - where's the Bourbon?! We ordered drinks from bar and then we were seated a bit later for dinner - short wait . Put the drink aside , ordered wine and dinner - dinner came before our wine/drinks ! Waiter was inattentive . Fried oyster and red snapper bites were average at best ! Twice we had to ask another wait staff to bring something and take our payment . She was helpful . Ehhh ... We had reservations for 6:30. In on arrival we informed the folks that we would accept inside or out. We were seated promptly st 6:30 inside. The noise was deafening. Between patrons seated together shouting at one another coupled with the music speakers, we were unable to carry on a decent conversation. This restaurant is very overpriced for what it is. I had the special, which was the scallops on potato grits. The scallops were extremely salty, yet the grits were incredibly blah. Well I never got to eat here because they cancelled our reservation 30 minutes prior due to weather. There are still people on the beach. We were told that "they pay for their weather apps"! We did NOT ask to seated outside, they put us there. Manager was very rude. Did not offer any other options. The food may have been good but probably not because their staff probably has the same attitude has their manager. Save your money and your time and go to Lulus! The food is great and the service is exceptional. I love sitting outside for the bay breeze and to watch the fishing boats come in with their catches. You can take the kids around to look at boats and see the fishermen cleaning their catches from the day. Great place and location and good food. Overall great beachy place! read more
