I love this place. Such a great deal for AYCD for $11.99. My husband and I got that after 2 beers and a saki, it pays for itself. We got a bunch of sushi and this girl is stuffed. I love the robots and train bring your food. Service was great. I'll be coming back for sure.

Was craving sushi and heard good things about this place, so I decided to come by with a family member for dinner while we were both visiting San Francisco. There was a relatively sleek, quiet ambiance, and two people who seated us before explaining how the menu operated and headed off. Unfortunately this was the most that we had when it came to interactions with the servers, because they proceeded to ignore us for the remainder of our dinner until we called them over to ask for water. We decided to get Salmon Nigiri, California Rolls, and the Rainbow Roll. They were all alright - the nigiri was a bit pricy for there only being two pieces, but the rolls were priced relatively okay. Overall, the experience was just okay. I think there are probably better sushi places to go to in San Francisco, so I'm unsure if I would return here again.

Pretty chill spot for all you can drink + sushi. The food is kinda overpriced but the all you can drink deal is 11.99 per person and the service is good so you can actually keep ordering more drinks. Out of all the soju pitchers we liked the strawberry yogurt the best. It was very sweet flavourful with strawberry puree on the bottom. The lime maguro roll was super yummy. The lime zest added a lot of flavour and out of all the sushis we ordered maguro was the freshest fish. The lime maguro roll was yummy Zenpo karaage was super yummy. Low key it's a bit of a catfish because they say it has cacao nibs and parmesan but you really can't tell that those ingredients were there. It has a nice soy garlicky glaze tho so would highly recommend

This place went viral on instagram so I decided to give it a try. They advertised $12 all you can drink so I was stoked. You order through the iPad at your table. Dragon roll $16 (5/5) - your typical dragon roll with unagi and shrimp tempura and avocado Shimizu roll $18 (5/5) - my favorite roll. If you like fish and scallops, this is it. Chef's special $28 (5/5) - 5pcs, salmon roe, uni, toro, salmon belly and scallops. I recommend ordering this with a roll. AYCD $12 (1/5) - it was so hard to order a drink. When i was done with my first drink, I had to ask multiple servers for the second drink. They kept walking by and not give me a drink. I probably waited 20 minutes for the second drink. Keep in mind you can order the drink through the iPad so I did that before I asked any servers. When I wanted a third drink, it was the same thing. I had to wait and ask multiple times. This is disappointing when they advertise "all you can drink" but really it's not because they don't want to give you a drink and purposely try to avoid you or take forever. I would come back for the food but don't expect much for the all you can drink. Service was mediocre. There's a ramp so it's wheelchair friendly. The restaurant is a bit small.

    $12.00 all you can drink!

We needed a quick bite before heading to the symphony and didn't have time to search for a place and this place was the closest to where we parked. Grabbed a seat and the waiter told us how to order, which is all done by a pad on the table. Prices were cheaper than most places and got to ordering. Also noticed they have an all you can drink for $12.00 which is a bargain. 3/5 Salmon skin hand roll - it was a bit too hard and difficult to bite into 4/5 Unagi hand roll - very good 5/5 Kurosan roll - small but very good, loved it 4/5 Wakame salad - the portion of this js larger than others To our surprise, the food isn't delivered by a normal waiter. There are robot waiters here! Just about everything you order gets delivered by an inanimate object. There's one that rolls over to your table with the sushi that you ordered. There's also a fun train that delivered the hand-roll and salad to you. It's fun. However, our beers were delivered by the nice waiter.

Came here for dinner and it wasn't busy at all. We got seated right away. It's around the neighborhood so decided to check it out. We got seaweed salad, California corners (their version of crab Rangoon), and 5 sushi rolls. We got the truffle salmon, dragon, Philly, Moeru, and another (can't remember the name) with tempura shrimp with crab on top. You order on the tablet at the table and food comes out on the belt next to you or by robot to the table. Food came out pretty quick and the server checked on us several times to make sure everything was ok. It was clean inside and nothing extravagant. Seaweed salad tasted ok but also tasted too 'wet' and liquidy. The California corners were good but nothing special. Favorite rolls were the truffle salmon and dragon. The Philly was standard and didn't disappoint. The others were ok but didn't love them. The ones with tempura shrimp were nice bc of the crisp shrimp but was a bit heavy on the breading. It would've been nice it all the ones with crab weren't sooo imitation crab looking and tasting or a bit of real crab would be nice. Some of the seafood tasted fresh and others didn't. The wasabi and ginger looked a bit dry and old. The soy sauce was only the low sodium. Overall, I'm glad I checked it out but don't feel the need to come back.

Came here with low expectations and I was not surprised by what I got. The best thing we tried was the California roll. In general, the rice was a bit overcooked and definitely over mixed (too dense on the rolls and rice kernels all broken and mushed together). Under seasoned. Food service and ordering was handled by tablet and the conveyer belt /robot. Otherwise, service was good, just one guy working to dish out water, collect plates, and give the check. Ambiance was calm, not many people and they had some J-POP in the background. Taste is like a generic sushi place in white suburban town, but with SF prices. Maybe fun to come here with kids or for novelty factor.

Came here with some friends on a weeknight around 7pm and was seated immediately. We order a variety of things to share- I would say a bit pricey for "conveyor belt" style sushi, but rolls were nicely presented. A little disappointed though that none of our sushi came out on the bullet train, but we did get a nifty robot deliver to us. A lot of the rolls were pretty similar we found, but caterpillar roll was good and so was the truffle salmon- which was a bit more unique. Overall, sushi & service was good, but nothing really stood out as WOW. Pretty simple and straightforward, not a bad week day spot.

It was raining pretty bad so I stopped by and had some sushi and edamame..tempura hand roll..coca cola..the robot delivered the food haha..near the concert hall on a rainy day..

First time here. Right across street from Davies. Enjoyed the food that we had, and all you can drink for $11.99 for 90 minutes. Cool experience for sure

Fresh fish. Fair prices. All you can drink sake, beer, and soju cocktail for $11.99. Wow! Simple and clean interior. Very nice waitresses. Clean restrooms. Short walk to City Hall.

This was my first bullet sushhhh experience in SF so this place set a tone for me. The ambiance feels futuristic- I meannn there's robot servers who delivered a couple dishes to us while we dined. Inside is clean and new. Bathrooms could've been cleaner.. cute decor nonetheless. Service was efficient (via robots, duh) but when we encountered the servers there- they were very nice and helpful. The food was pretty good. Remember, you're in SF. SF prices. It's a cute spot pre or post- event.

Food: The yuzu salmon onigiri had a decent serving of salmon inside and on top of the rice. Good salmon flavor but slightly lacking in yuzu flavor. Chicken Curry onigiri: a mild curry flavor which again had a decent rice to chicken ratio. The chicken did taste slightly dry despite the curry sauce likely due to the nature of being a ground meat. Matcha Latte c Pistachio Cream was easily one of the best tasting matcha drinks I have had in SF. The matcha had a strong flavor and the pistachio cream did not overpower the taste of the matcha. There was a nice sweet, slightly salty, and pistachio flavor from the cream and the addition of the crushed pistachios was not a weird texture for the drink. I would definitely be interested in trying more of their matcha beverages due to quality and size of drink compared to cost.

However, I noticed this place has A LOT of reservations; therefore, they did give us a time limit (we had a good hour and 30 mins!). If you're looking for an authentic Japanese izakaya experience, Rintaro is definitely worth checking out. I've been to Japan before, and actually felt like the food we ate was just as good as what you would get in Japan, but more expensive, haha. I also love that their menu focuses on traditional Japanese izakaya dishes rather than just sushi. Everything is meant to be shared, making it a fun dining experience where you can try a little bit of everything. FOOD: 9/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 FOOD: 9/10 The food really showcases the craftsmanship that goes into Japanese cooking. From the handmade udon to the charcoal-grilled skewers that we ordered, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. I especially appreciated that nothing felt overly complicated. The flavors were simple, balanced, and let the quality of the ingredients shine. The only reason I'm giving it a 9 instead of a perfect 10 is that a few dishes didn't completely wow me for the price, but overall it was a fantastic meal. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to answer questions or offer recommendations. The restaurant gets busy, but service still felt attentive throughout the meal without making us feel rushed. They do recommend ordering everything at once, as they do run out of things due to the high volume of customers. AMBIANCE: 10/10 The first thing that stood out to me was the ambiance. From the moment you walk in, the warm wood interior, open kitchen, and charcoal grill make you feel like you've stepped into Japan. It has such a cozy and intimate atmosphere that's perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. Rintaro is definitely more of a special occasion spot than an everyday dinner. The quality is there, but because the menu is made up of small plates, the bill can add up pretty quickly. That said, I think it's worth experiencing at least once if you're looking for an authentic izakaya in San Francisco. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The atmosphere alone makes it memorable, and I love that Rintaro focuses on traditional Japanese comfort food instead of being another sushi restaurant. It's the kind of place where you come for the entire experience, not just the meal.

The omakase experience balances traditional sushi with more creative touches. Each course brings something different, from fresh sashimi and nigiri to warmer dishes like chawan mushi that add depth to the progression of the meal. The sushi highlights the quality of the fish while incorporating thoughtful flavor combinations, with dishes like scallop and the dry-aged fish courses standing out for their texture and seasoning. The sake pairing fits naturally into the experience, adding another layer without overpowering the food, and the sommelier's selections complement the progression of flavors across the meal. What makes Kusakabe memorable is the craftsmanship and pacing of the meal. The chefs take time to explain each course, making the experience feel personal rather than rushed. Sitting at the counter adds to the atmosphere because you get to see the precision and care that goes into every piece, from the way the rice is formed to the final brush of sauce on the fish. The pacing of the meal allows you to appreciate each course without feeling rushed, and the team's attention to detail creates a rhythm that keeps the meal engaging from start to finish. Kusakabe feels like a place made for special occasions, celebrations, or anyone looking for a more elevated Japanese dining experience. It combines technique, hospitality, and creativity in a way that makes the entire meal feel like an event rather than just a dinner. The balance of traditional and modern elements, along with the warmth of the service, leaves you with the sense of having experienced something complete and thoughtfully composed.

What an experience! We were celebrating an anniversary and planned a bit last minute, but were able…read moreto snag a reservation here pretty easily. Immediately, the ambiance and service was quite nice. We were seated at the table, but typically I enjoy sitting at the bar to watch the chefs make our food. The service was amazing and they were very attentive. They also offered to take photos and gave us a little gift of hojicha tea since we were celebrating. We got the omakase, which was massive and had 18 courses. They gave us a menu so we knew what to expect for each course, and we ordered some sake. The omakase was delicious and more traditional than other places, each course was so beautiful and delicately made. This is definitely a lot of food, I would recommend the petite omakase in the future as I was stuffed, but it was a great experience if you come hungry! Courses: - Chawan-mushi - super tasty and every bite was delicious and umami forward! - Otsumami - 7 seasonal appetizers presented in a beautiful box, there was a stuffed crab claw in there that was delicious - 4 kinds of sushi - each piece came out one at a time, the first piece was my absolute favorite and blew me away, it was a seared chutoro that immediately melts in your mouth and tastes smokey - Hamachi soup - very tasty and warming soup with hamachi inside, was perfect in between the sushi course - 4 kinds of sushi - A5 Waguyu shabu - this course was extra $10 pp but was so delicious, the wagyu was melt in your mouth and had some grated daikon on top in a ponzu dashi, the toppings help balance the meat so it's overwhelming since it does melt in your mouth, one of my favorite bites! - 4 kind of sushi - they brought out some really great sushis, including more chutoro and an unagi handroll, but I was so stuffed at this point that I felt I couldn't enjoy it as much - miso soup - this soup was so tasty and kind of revived me after all that food, it felt comforting and a great way to end - dessert- I got the hojicha ice cream in a waffle like cookie and it was delicious!
