    The takeout box. Handsome.

When I first moved to Charlotte in the 80s the best pizza to be found, probably, was Godfather's. We had only chains and, for a splurge, Luisa's. Now, somehow, we have every kind of pizza under the sun available in the Queen City (except Chicago style, RIP Rosatti's, but that's more pizza casserole anyway). I have tried most varieties but always seem to go back to a good slice of NY style. Fold it in half and munch away. Zeppedie's in LoSo seemed to be in that category, and I was craving pie all week, so I got a takeout pizza with meatballs and onions so I would have enough for leftovers. The sauce caught my attention first. It's got a bite to it and is absolutely and clearly handcrafted. Like you could taste the fresh tomatoes and seasonings. The crust was a bit chewy and a bit crispy, as a NY style slice should be and fresh as heck. The meatball and onions toppings were tasty, but as others have noted they were a little sparser than I'd have liked. The meatballs themselves were loosely put together, so the slices had what tasted like a pinch or two of well-seasoned hamburger. It's what caused me to knock off one star. I didn't really wanna but there we are. I normally get just plain cheese, and I suspect I would have been happier with the result. I'm a basic girl. So consider this review 4.5 stars, especially since I appreciate a place that lets you specify the level of doneness for your pizza. Definitely going to try it again and definitely recommend. Excellent entry to LoSo and our side of town in general.

We were staying at an AirBnb nearby, but some of our party was arriving late and we didn't have a dinner plan. It made sense to find a local place on Uber Eats vs some chain pizza place and that worked for everyone. We order a Caesar salad to share, an order of mozzarella sticks, a large pepperoni pizza, and a large sausage pizza. For a random pizza place, we were impressed with everything we got. The Caesar had real shaved parm on top and was a good size for sharing. The mozzarella sticks only had four pieces, but they were massive. Then the pizzas had great flavor and and a delicious thin crust. We kept picking on everything until it was gone. It was an easy but delicious dinner for a group of adults.

I recently was out with some friends at Lower Left Brewing and while our initial plan was to go grab pizza somewhere after, we changed our mind once we realized that Zepeddie's is right next door. They actually have an agreement with Lower Left and you can order at the brewery and then either walk next door to pick up your pizza when it's ready or I believe in some cases they'll bring it right to you. This seemed like a great option as we were enjoying ourselves on a lovely evening so we decided to give it a shot. They offer some 12" pies priced between $15-$20 depending on which one you go with. I went with the Big Gabagool which could be considered their version of a meat lovers pizza as it comes with pepperoni, capicolla, and meatball. The pizza was good and the crust was nice and crispy, but the cheese and toppings all slid off after the first bite and I was mostly finishing it with a fork which usually means the cheese didn't melt into the dough enough or maybe it was too slick because of the oil used. Don't get me wrong it was perfectly good to eat and I would get it again in a heartbeat the next time I found myself at Lower Left, but I'm not sure if this is pizza I would go out of my way to get otherwise. My girlfriend on the other hand did a BYO calzone and loved it. It was large enough that she had leftovers the next day and she said it was just as good heated up the second time! I'll probably try one of those next time.

Wow this pizza is great! We also got a half sandwich and it was equally as good. One of the better semolina rolls I've had.

Food was pretty good. We ordered the big gabagool for Mr S and I and a half cheese/half pepperoni for Little S and his friend. The sauce on the half and half could have used a little more flavor for my taste but the kids liked it a lot.

Habanero Fanta Fire - extremely hot and tasty

Easy 5 stars. The Thick Crust pizza is amazing, the focaccia bread is top quality and they load up the ingredients - highly recommend the Napolitano. I also ordered a couple flavors of wings - Lemon Pepper and Habanero Fanta Fire. Both were great. They're not lying about the Habanero ones being 17.5/10 on the spicy scale haha they were extremely hot but tasted really good. My mouth only hurt temporarily, but it was intense while it lasted. Exactly what I was hoping for lol

I live in the loso neighborhood and got a postcard in the mail promoting a deal to get a large pizza with a free cannoli and garlic knots. I had asked for a pepperoni pizza and was given a cheese which is okay. It still was good but likely will not be my go to pizza shop in the area based on the price. I feel like it is a little too pricy for a basic pizza. Overall the food was good. I wish the parking situation was a bit better or there were 2-3 carry away spots.

We actually were at Lower Left Brewing next-door, but I ended up ordering the Italian sandwich from Zepeddie's and found it to be very good. The top of the bun was a little different, but the sandwich as a whole was quite tasty.

    Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
    Ian N.

Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza (4/5): Good flavors with special sauce and pickles. I really liked the finely shredded lettuce. Couldn't taste the bacon at all and only got a hint of the burger meat. Big Gabagool Pizza (3/5): The dough was pretty good, but the amount of sauce and toppings made it really soggy. The sauce was more marinara sauce than pizza sauce. Tasted like I was eating a meatball sub which isn't what I really want from a pizza. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Zepeddie's Pizzeria is a great addition to the Charlotte food scene. They were closed for over a decade and have finally come back. While the food is affordable, they don't sacrifice quality or skimp on flavor. Even their gluten-free meatballs are fantastic - they use oats to bind them, keeping them light. My favorites were the crispy mozzarella stix and the Big Gabagool pizza which is their version of a meat lovers pie. It even has capicola! They also serve local beers in the freezer so I love their willingness to support local vendors. Service was exceptional. Even when I sat down to eat my pizza and forgot my plate, a team member brought me one - it's the little details that matter. Parking is ample on the street. And the overall vibe of the restaurant is quaint. It's a great place for takeout or to grab have a casual bite inside at one of their few indoor tables, sitting at the laptop bar, or even outside on the patio.

    Pepperoni and seasoned beef pizza
    Keela D.

The Bad: So I'm not a fan of this thick crust pizza. The bread to toppings ratio is waaaaaaay off. You could split the bread in half and it still would be considered a thick crust pizza. As you can see, the outer pieces barely have toppings on it. This can't be it New York. The Good: i ordered the classic pepperoni and seasoned beef toppings. For the pepperoni pieces that weren't overcooked....they were good. The seasoned beef toppings were really good. Flavorful. The sauce tastes homemade using fresh tomatoes. I will return to try the thin crust pizza......and maybe a canolli. #GratuityAdded #Zepeddies #Cltpizza #pizzatime #NYStyle #pizzalovers #CLTNewEats #pizzeria #foodblogger #charlottesgotalot #EatDrinkCharlotte #foodlover #foodstagram #keeppounding #CLTMuckbang #charlottefoodie #NCRed #cltpizzerias #CharlotteResturants #wheretoeatcharlotte

AMAZING FOOD!! As New Yorkers we are very tough on pizza but this was amazing! The bread there was so delicious and i cannot rave enough. I think it was the owner who came out but he was so nice and chatted with us for a bit. Super friendly and absolutely delicious food! The outside seating is really nice would definitely eat there if you can.

Picked up a late night pie after an event in LoSo. The spot is super cute and inviting, I'd like to go back and eat on the patio when it gets warmer. Even after making the trek home with it, it was delicious! Foldable, toppings stay on, great NY style slice. The crispy pepperoni was great and there was minimal grease. Heated up the leftovers the next day, and it was still great!

We stopped in here for a weeknight late bite when our options were somewhat limited. Thankfully at that hour, street parking in NoDa wasn't too bad, we got a spot just off the main drag. Slices here are GIGANTIC, one is easily about 3 standard slices of pizza, or two normal NY size slices. We got a pepperoni and a cheese. The pepperoni had nice kick to them and the cheese was a high quality. You had to let the pepperoni grease drain onto your plate a bit, but that is expected. The thing that makes both slices so good is the garlic butter bath all around the crust that you can see them doing in the kitchen. Not just that, but the texture in the crust will make even non-crust lovers think again. You're basically left with big doughy garlic butter breadsticks. Definitely a 5 on taste. My only complaint, and I'm sure it is partly by design to keep people from staying long, the stools you can sit on to enjoy your pizza inside the restaurant are THE WORST I have ever placed my derrier on. Even for 15 minutes, it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was painful. It took me a couple blocks to start walking correctly again. Might as well just get rid of them and have people stand to eat. Terrible. Almost knocked a star off for it, that bad. Regardless of the world's worst stools, I would come back for more pizza and just plan on not eating it there.

The waiter was efficient, not friendly but not unfriendly either, just doing his job pretty much. Would have been nice to have him check on us once or twice but again not the biggest deal. The pizza: my son really enjoyed it and gave it a 5/5 and hubby ranked it a 3/5. He thought the crust was a tad too soggy. Side Caesar: 3/5 had some pieces of the lettuce that should have never made it in the salad and the dressing was just okay. Morty: also a 3/5. Too much arugula, we took some out and then seasoned the rest with s&p and some crushed red pepper flakes. It just lacked a depth of flavor and the bread and arugula overpowered it. The seasoning helped a bit. I even added garlic aioli based on a review I read on here but I didn't taste it. The pasta salad it came with also lacked flavor, though very green and appearing loaded with flavor it was not. And when eating it, the texture was very gummy. Didn't finish that. Overall, it was okay but I'm not likely to return just because there are better options based on the things we tried. But taste is subjective and it just wasn't our vibe today. Also, many of the appetizers are cheese-type dishes, which feels like a bit much if you're already there for pizza. Why PB puts SO much sauce on their pies, I don't know. They could save a few dollars by cutting the amount in half. Maybe their other pies are not as soggy, and the fact that margherita pies have a more watery cheese is a factor. Still, we nearly had to eat it like soup. The service was fine--could've been a little more attentive. But there are a dozen other pizzerias in Charlotte that are much better.

Their patio is so fun, the street you overlook is pretty chill so there weren't a lot of cars or noise. The area has good enough traffic for decent people watching, that's always fun. Our server was so funny and cool. I wish I could remember his name, but he was having a good convo with the person I was with about basketball and it was just really nice. It felt like I was home on my couch hanging with friends. It's such a cool chill place. I loved the pizza, olives app and the old fashioned. Review for Pizza Baby…read more After a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class and sound bath at The Coterie Wellness one evening, I found myself hungry--and conveniently, Pizza Baby had just opened in the same complex. Perfect timing. Since it was still new, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and I decided to grab a table outside. The outdoor seating was lovely--relaxed, comfortable, and a great way to unwind after a wellness session. I'm a sucker for thin-crust pizza, especially when it's hand-tossed and thoughtfully prepared, so one item immediately caught my eye: the rosemary pizza with hot honey. Sold. I added Italian sausage to the pizza and paired it with a fresh green salad (I can never resist a good Green Goddess dressing). Yes, it was a little on the pricey side, but the quality matched the cost--and I was genuinely pleased with my choices. The crust was thin and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the hot honey added just the right touch of sweetness and heat. This is definitely a place I'd return to--next time with friends--so we can share a few different pizzas and appetizers and really explore the menu. A few practical notes: * Parking is generally easy since the restaurant shares a lot with neighboring businesses in the complex * There are several nearby spots, including a wine bar and entertainment venues, which make the area feel lively * There was some early parking congestion when a nearby church held services, but the situation has since been addressed with signage and coordinated parking solutions It's nice to see businesses and community partners working together to make things run smoothly. There's also another location of Pizza Baby that I plan to visit, which speaks to how positive my first experience was. Bottom line: Great thin-crust pizza, pleasant outdoor seating, and a convenient stop after yoga or an evening out. A solid addition to Charlotte's growing food scene--and absolutely worth checking out. And if you're already in the area for a class or wellness session, it makes for the perfect post-workout reward.
