DALLAS - A particularly good local comic shop. Stopped here on way to Dallas Love airport on a Wednesday mid afternoon. A good selection of new comics, and carrying plenty that aren't DC or Marvel. Well stocked with Ultimates and Absolute lines, various trades and looked like a good kids' selection. Not the place I'd go for funkos or toys or whatnot - this place is all about comics. Had a decent amount of back issues, but no dollar bins; oh well, can't have everything. Clean and airy and well lit. Definitely worthwhile shopping experience. I'd return. read more

ordered product online in spring of 2026 and only get receipt with notice that due to Covid shopping will take longer than expected and also distributor shipments are behind as well. the item said in stock on their website and was released fall of 2025. no contact or responses for 4 days then I finally get someone on the phone who says that the person who fills online orders hasn't been in for a week and they no longer have that item for sale. anyone who physically shops in this store should consider somewhere else to spend their money because the online reviews are terrible read more

Man I'm glad comic book stores like this did not exist when I was a kid... I never would have had any money! My oldest has always wanted to go to a comic book store... so we found one, in our down time, on our trip, and I took him. To say that the comic book industry has exploded since I collected many many years ago is to say the Apple phone is just a gadget. This place was huge and loaded with comic after comic! I mean we could have spent a long time in here for sure. So much to look at. They even have a large selection of old issues for your collection also. In the end my son bought a couple of books and enjoyed being in a true comic book store filled with every type of comic imaginable. If your looking for selection this is the place... however the people in here were stand-offish. They did not ask us if we needed help or even really acknowledge us until we went up to pay and we were just about the only ones in here the whole time. Still, we did have fun looking. read more

Having been to every comic book shop in the greater Dallas area (yes, all of them), I can say with a high degree of certainty that Zeus Comics is the best stocked shop with current and recent issues of all the comics titles you could possibly want. Sure, their selection of further back issues is less stellar or complete and their stock of legacy issues is virtually nonexistent but that is t why anyone would go to Zeus. Similarly, their stock of toys, games and other collectibles is awfully light (for games just walk a few steps down the strip mall to Common Ground Games for the best selection of games in The Big D), but that's no reason to quibble. When I'm in town, I always include Zeus on my "must visit" list and I'd recommend that you do the same. read more

Not a bad place, bigger then most comic shops but pretty cool. Service is a bit better then when I originally went as a kid in the 2000s and it was over in Turtle Creek (I remember getting kicked out for no reason at one point other then just browsing, manager wouldn't explain himself). They are friendly nowadays and can even be talkative if the place isn't too busy. That said, I do wish when Free Comic Book Day rolls around they would tell if there's a time limit to their giveaways .I got down there last year a bit late but didn't see any comics to nab. Hmm. Comics are all out in the open and new releases are easy to find. Also one of the few places where you can find the off-brands and indie stuff too. I do wish they have more models and toys though, they seem so few and, with a big store like that, could have a section of it dedicated to some models and toys instead of being so spread out. Layout is a little messy too I feel. It's not slapdash but doesn't feel as organized as it should. But maybe that's just how the staff operates in stocking merchandise so eh. Overall though it is a good comic shop, relaxed atmosphere, easy to find new releases and some recent backlogs . Now, like most store, don't expect to go in finding all the comics you want, they don't carry everything, but it's not a bad first choice to visit if your looking for something specific. read more

I downloaded Yelp just to leave them a review - it's Sunday, which means it's time to update the weekly pull. I go in once a week, maybe every other week. But they know me by name, and before I've even taken 5 steps into the store, they've given me the stack. The staff know what books I'm reading, what to recommend. That means a lot, that they know me by name. Life can be hard, and it's good to know that I can rely on Zeus to be there for me, to step inside and block out the stresses of life for a few minutes. I've been going to Zeus Comics for years now. I love how when I walk in they remember me and can pull my box of comics without even asking my name. Richard, Kelli, and Ian are always super social and make time to talk about anything even if it's not comic related. I love that they have a checklist system that you can select the comics you want each week and they will pull he and set them aside for you. They will even hold them for a month for you. The new system starting soon will even let you go ahead and pay when you request the hold. For someone like me who takes far too long to go on to pick mine up that's gonna be a huge help. They have a great selection of comics and carry a lot of independent titles and brands as well as the big players which is great because I hate going to a.store and finding they only carry Marvel and DC. If I haven't already sold you I need to let you know that they are dog friendly as well. It's not just small dog friendly. They are all dog friendly. They even have let me bring my mastiffs in with me. Even though I don't live in Dallas anymore I still get all my comics from Zeus. It's a local business that has earned my continued business through the family feel you get when you get to know the employees. If you haven't checked them out I highly recommend you do. read more

There are many comic shops in the metroplex. I drive past those shops to get to Zeus Comics. It's a fantastic place to shop. It has everything that the comic or toy fan could want, yet remains accessible to the casual shopper. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I've been consistent with comic book visits each and every Wednesday since age six. Of course, back then Mom would take me but she was great about making sure we stopped by to grab the weekly reads. There have been a few stores that stand out over my twenty-three years reading caped crusaders battle hulking villains from distant worlds, and Zeus is one of those shops. Richard, the owner, maintains a clean store very well. He's always so friendly and polite. Hell--even find him on the weekly pull list that comes via email on Sundays, starring in a mini-series. Yeah, Richard is a cool dude, and his shop is worth visiting more than once. Plus--special guests are at the shop rather often so that's a bonus! Zeus Comics continues to be the premiere comic shop, not just in DFW, but in all of Texas. My 10 year old daughter has recently started showing interest in graphic novels, but she's not really into the super hero stuff. Zeus has a HUGE selection of books that are right up her alley (don't worry, they also have all the super hero stuff you can imagine, and then some). The staff was able to recommend a series to her, Svetlana's "Awkward", and she read the whole thing in one sitting that same day and loved it. When you shop at Zeus, you're not just walking into a store and looking at racks hoping to find something you'd like, you're getting tip top customer service guaranteeing you will find something you'd like. They've just moved from their Oak Lawn location to new digs on Lemmon near Wycliff and the Tollway. They are next to the McDonald's...actually they are in the building that used to be Club Sparx--a mini all aged Stark Club in the 80's....un cha un cha un cha. Sooooo...my daughter likes Manga. I like a little. OKAY, enough torture, I will tell the truth. I READ A LOT OF MANGA. I'm like a housewife on boxed wine watching the soaps. Yes, it's very soap operay with cute kitty cats. And while Zeus hasn't got them all back in yet, they usually have a nice selection. But they have the best selection of fun toys EVER. Need a bobble head, except for Mr. T, they have most of them. Need the Reservoir Dogs Kubrick figures, well, they might still have some. What's neat is they have a new release list online so you can make a weekly pull list ant they will put it aside for you. When I was going to school in Chicago there was a period of time that I fancied myself a bit of a collector. Starting with "Legends of the Dark Knight" #1. For one year I collected -- told myself, "once I fill this box, I'm done"; and that's exactly what happened. So years later when I opened that box and found I a few thousand dollars in comics -- a few that were actually worth something, I realized that I needed to protect those things so they're around for a while. Zeus comics has much more to offer than just comics. Sure, I sleeved my Spiderman #1 and Batman#426's etc... -- but the same archival quality that one would use for comics is also good for family heirloom documents or, say, your "Sopranos" autographs. They're nice guys with good supplies so whether you're looking to protect your X-men run or you're birth certificate, these guys probably have the materials you're looking for, for a good price. -spidey read more

I haven't been to a comic bookstore in ages! I think the last time I went to an actual comic book store was about 15 years ago. It's been awhile. After having lunch across the street with Flor, Melody, and Katie, me and Katie decided to check it out. From the comic book stores that I used to go to, this one seems a little small in comparison and it seems like they have a little bit of everything. From glancing around at the different comics, they were out of issue one comics. If I'm gonna start reading comics again, I'm gonna start at the beginning instead of somewhere in the middle. I don't wanna miss the details. Like I said they have a little bit of everything: action figures, comic books, shirts, toys, replicas, posters, anime, and collector's books...etc. With the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie coming out soon, I decided to get the Wolverine Essentials; it has issues 1-23 all in one book. I can't wait to read it! The store seems to be really organized and neat. Right now they've got a 10% off everything, 25% off $100 or more, and 35% off $200 or more. Go check'em out! read more

As a girl nerd, it was refreshing to walk into a comic book store, get greeted by another girl nerd, and, upon making my purchase, not get asked if I'm buying these books for a boyfriend. Every time I go in, the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. The newer issues aren't always shelved in a way that makes sense to me, but they can help me find what I'm looking for. They have a great selection of kids' comics, too, including many from indie labels that are hard to find in other stores. As for grown-up comics, they have most of the major titles and labels, but older back issues are a little lacking, compared to what's available in other stores. They also have a decent manga collection. Next door to them is a game store that sells all you basic CCG and tabletop RPG staples and then some. So it is also a convenient stop. All in all, this is now my first stop when I'm comic book shopping in the Metroplex. read more

For years, ive been a total comic geek, a lover of four-color print you might say. However, the experience of going to a comic book store has always been a chore, especially in this town where the chain store likes to close locations without any forewarning or notice, not to mention the "indie store" near the sandwich shop giving you "the stare" if you ask about a book or try to present your knowledge in a conversation. After many years of searching for a comic shop that's primary requirements didnt include bad attitude, adult onset acne, extreme body weight, odd hair growth or foul odor that would chase away the casual fan unless they carried a hazmat suit, I pretty much lost hope to find a friendly shop run by people who like their job. Enter Richard Neal, Eisner Award Winner, Youtube Celebrity(TheVariants.Com) and all around "Mild Mannered Business Owner", who runs his own kick-ass, cool-geek Fortress Of Solitude/shop full of excellent comic books, graphic novels, toys and collectables. I met Richard recently and have to say, he and his staff (Keli & Barry) are the coolest, cleanest and friendliest comic experts in Dallas. I normally go to Titan comics for their vast selection of back issues and current offerings but I decided to give Zeus a go. I am so glad I did! It was super clean, organized and I had a budding 9 year old daughter in tow that is really starting to get into comics. The woman working there(I am so sorry I didn't get her name) was amazing. She engaged my daughter in a normal conversation, knew things that she might like(and were appropriate) and made our visit fun. My daughter was so excited to see that girls are into comics too and they can be fun, smart and cool. You now have a converted customer for life. Zeus is the kind of comic store you could take your girlfriend into and she might actually have a good time. You can read other reviews to find out more about the selection. I'm not a die-hard comics nerd, but I love a few properties from the 80s and 90s, and I know I can find something I simply have to have. If you can walk out of here spending under $100, you're a better man than I am. If you want your home to look like a set from Big Bang Theory, this is a good place to start, but there's also lots of legitimate art to be found here. In my opinion, more than the DMA gift shop. A friendly staff and cheery atmosphere make it a comfortable browsing experience. There are events here seemingly every time I stop in. You might meet your favorite artist by accident! This store is typical of what is wrong with comic stores now. Mostly everyone of these stores now have the same problems: 1. The graphic novel selection matches Books A Million or Borders, all DC all Marvel the same "indies" (Dark horse IDW and Dynamite). No NBM, no Cine' no Avatar/ Boundless 2. Manga had a lot books 3s and 4s, but no book 1s, and 3. more @&$!$&$ statues than back issue products. (Back issues regulated to the big two, and nothing older than 2005?). This is why I only spend at the bigger online shops and Amazon...stores like this make me want to quit the hobby altogether? Where is the history? Where are the great books? And whoever said that this store has a great anime selection has NEVER been to the west coast. Pathetic. read more

Go ahead, release your inner Geek! Richard Neal has done a great job keeping an Uptown/Oak Lawn tradition alive through now THREE moves in the area. Ladies, lemme tell 'ya, guys still love their comics and comic book heroes. Don't let them tell you otherwise. This is not your typical comic book store. It's bright, well-organized, well-stocked, and you don't feel like you are in someone's private club when you walk in the door. I've shopped at Zeus since it was on Oak Lawn. The new location is bigger and easier to get to. The staff is still the best in town. And I like their checklist system, where you can go online and put in your weekly request to be pulled on Wednesday. Simple! read more

It helps that when you first walk into a shop, there are boxes lined up with 25 cent comics. Usually, these would be full of crap but instead, these were full of overstock of comics that came out in recent years - some of them, as recent as a month ago! Obviously, this deal doesn't run all the time - but the shop did have a pretty decent size selection of back issues and new releases. I would recommend it. read more

Great stuff. I love the toys and comics and they have some neat Japanese stuff and interesting graphic novels. The staff is pretty friendly, although they are a little bit cool-seeming, for comics. Great looking store with a nice open floor plan. Tons of newer issues with a wider variety of publishers to choose from. One particularly nice feature is that their back issues are all bagged in Mylar bags which is a very nice touch. The person at the register was very friendly and helpful. read more

I must agree with Deno (come on - is she EVER wrong : ) This is a cool little store with apparently extensive comic collections, although I go in for the gifts. Every several months one of the teenagers I know has some BD or gig that requires a gift - but what the hell do I know about teenagers and what they want??? So I go for the odd gift that can make them standout when they stick it on their locker door at school or hang it in the rear window of their car - wanting to stand out is what teenage years are all about, right? Well sorta - as long as you don't stand out too much. As an aside... I also use the cleaners next door, and about a month ago I parked my car and went into the cleaners to pick up my clothes when after several minutes I hear a crash and comment to the lady that someone must have gotten hit... so I turn and look out the window and am horrified to see my car rolling aimlessly back and forth in Lemmon Avenue after being spun around when a big truck hit it.... I ran out to get it out of the street, but it wouldn't start... Thankfully, 4 guys came running out of the comic shop and offered to push me back into the parking lot saving me from the beating I was sure to get from the angry drivers on Lemmon during evening rush hour who were glaring at me but doing nothing to help. So, besides being a good place to get comics and some interesting gifts... Zeus is also a good place to total your car.... in case your car ever feels the need to commit suicide as mine did. read more

Nice small local shop with a friendly sweet girl working. She made you kind of want to buy more! My 6 yr old is just exploring kid level comics and found a couple to buy. Decent selection of comics and collectible figures/comics as well. Small selection of action figures but will return as they seem eager to find anything they didn't have in store. We normally frequent a large comic shop closer to our home so we are used to a larger selection but again....the employee here makes the difference. read more

I stopped by today during lunch to check out the 50% sale they were having and what did I see?! TOKIDOKI toys yay! Not only that but they were half off. I grabbed one of the wild tigers and a where the wild things are character (carol) for 17 bones baby. I really wanted to grab a hello kitty lunch box but behaved like a big girl and walked away. The toys will be a great surprise for the bf...but I just realized he will most likely see this post before seeing me. O well. I've been going to Zeus on and off for years and it is absolutely my nerd paradise in Dallas. The toys, graphic novels, figurines, comic books and etc keep me in there for hours every time I'm there. The staff there are also NOTHING like Comic-book Guy on The Simpsons which is a welcome change. I'm not sure if the staff there still does their web series, but if they do, you will get a book feel for how fun the place can be. read more

I think the biggest issue is that they can be quite chatty, which is cool if you're in the conversation, but if you're just trying to get in and out and pick up some issues, it can irk you a little. Probably the greatest place in the history of places. They have a huge selection of back issues and hard covers. This place really is a one stop shop for comics. They also have TONS of statues and action figures, I have not once walked in and not found what I was looking for. The staff is very knowledgeable and extremely courteous, and can help you hunt down whatever it is you're looking for. Kelli and Richard are two of the coolest people I've have the chance to meet.
