    Hotpot
    Mike Z.

Had a great time at Zha Zha beef! The signature hotpot with the crumbled beef has exquisite texture, and the broth base is also high quality. Pricing is similar to all the other higher end hotpot places in Flushing, but the quality is definitely there. My party arrived around lunch time on a Saturday and did not need to wait, although all tables were eventually full.

The seatings are not tall people friendly. I'm not tall and I had to crouch to eat, which I didn't mind, but I'm not sure how 5'10"+ would have a good experience. I like a different concept of hotpot, their broth selection is unique. We got the bone broth, which was flavorful and not super salty, where you can sip on it throughout the meal. However, I did get palette fatigue since we got 3 different cuts of beef to add in as well and the broth already came with zha zha beef, which was pretty fatty (tasty tho!) Next time, I want to try the sauerkraut or the spicy to not get sick of it too quick. We got the chili oil quail eggs, which weren't that spicy and pretty bland, but the sauce bar helped. The tofu was refreshing and very creamy, which I really enjoyed!

So went to my friends office nearby and for lunch we ate at diner at. I haven't tried this place…read moreso it was a beautiful ambiance with the cherry blossoms. My friend and I both ordered the same chicken salads. It was actually pretty filling and too much for me so doggy bagged the rest. Service was super nice. They were attentive and helpful.

My daughters 9th bday was coming up and she loves milkshakes so I started looking on yelp (of…read morecourse) and found this place which also has a bar #winningfortheparents lol We came on a saturday around 6:30-7 table do four was seated right away. We were also intrigued to try the sangria that yelp raved about. We got a pitcher! It did NOT disappoint. It was a decent size pitcher for the price. Roza came to us and asked if we liked it and told us it was her recipe. No sugar ,No soda .It was tasty, thick full of fruit and definitely had liquor because I left with a buzz She also brought out the rosè for us to try pretty good too very refreshing will definitely do that one in warmer weather. I got the Dbar burger it was good but so big I didn't finish it all. My husband got the rib eye burger. He liked it but it was a little to greasy for him he didn't finish it. My 13 year old wanted breakfast. It was not in the menu but we figured we ask since it is a diner. She got pancakes with fruit and scrambled eggs. My youngest daughter got from the kids menu grilled cheese with fruit she enjoyed it so much we had to order another. Both girls for the marshmallow milkshake they LOVED it! For appetizers we got calamari good but could've used a little more breading. Also got chips with guacamole and honestly for a diner it was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Roza knew she had a bday past since we conversed for a bit and suggested we can sing her happy bday and asked what she liked I told her chocolate cake. They asked for the correct spelling of her name which I thought was sweet. Anyway the staff came out and sang with us super cool. Even the bathrooms are really clean. It was a great experience will definitely come back.I must be honest it's a hit pricey. The price for the pancakes with eggs was $23 when we saw the bill I was a little surprised. Kids' meals are $13 and I thought we were getting the cake (free, lol) since I technically didn't suggest it. It was $12 for a slice. But overall it was a pleasure she even gave us a sample of vodka with lemon and ginger which was actually good and helps settle the stomach.

Amazing vibes and food! We got a lunch reservation and I was surprised at how busy the restaurant…read morestill was. Service was a bit slow but not an issue. The waiter was really nice. I ordered the non-alcoholic ginger drink, spicy rigatoni pasta and the truffles pasta and Monkey Bread. Everything was so light and fluffy. None of the food felt heavy or greasy. Would definitely come here again!

There is currently construction and scaffolding in front of the place, but you'll see signage where to go at the opening of the scaffolding. We walked in, past the bar and checked in. We were seated within 5 minutes. I ordered a bourbon old-fashioned and we ordered crab rangoon as a starter. There were a lot of them and the sweet chili sauce was great. For my entree, I ordered the vodka rigatoni and a side of buttered broccoli. The vodka rigatoni was really good - liked the flavor and a decent size of pasta. The broccoli was really good for some reason to me. Also tried the truffle mac and cheese which was incredibly rich and tasted great. As a dessert, we had the chocolate pie which was dense, rich, and topped with a huge dollop of whipped topping. I really liked the atmosphere of the place, loud roaring 20s style with jazz playing. Plus I kept finding myself checking out the mural on the wall. Try it for yourself - but worth the fight to get a table.

The food...AMAZING…read more The atmosphere...fun and diner like The staff... best in the city hands down My waitress Amber was the nicest and sweetest person ever (love you girl ). She was the only server there and did a fantastic job. We got the Buffalo mac and cheese balls as a starter and they were so good! kid friendly but had a tiny kick to it. I got the crispy chicken and gravy with the mac and cheese and mexican street corn and there is literally not a single complaint. My mom also got the crispy chicken and mac and cheese but she got the tater tots and they had a nice flavor and were crispy but not burnt (EXACTLY how she ordered them). My sister got the bedrock pancakes and while they looked way too sweet for me she LOVED them. We also got the Nutella Ella Ella Aye milkshake and it looked so good and tasted even better. This will definitely be a place that I will be going back to on my next trip.

I thought it would have been a slight drizzle--not drenched like gravy and biscuits. Was disappointing. Not to mention it was very expensive. Not returning. They weren't very friendly either. So n can't really say it was remotely worth it.
