Decent but I found a hair in my hotpot which was unfortunate. This was my first time trying this place with my sister. We came on a Saturday around 8pm and it wasn't fully packed. We waited less than 10 minutes for a table. You can order on your phone by scanning the QR code at the table. You choose a set for however many people at your table and then choose the broth. Keep in mind some broths cost more than others especially if you're getting any of the spicy beef or Szechuan broths. I got the spicy beef oil broth and my sister got the tom yum broth. Then you order your meats, veggies, etc.. It says it's only two people table for each category of food but it was inconsistent. They would bring out more than 2 but then forgot to completely bring out an item. They also have a sauce bar and a side bar to get appetizers, more meat, veggies and noodles. They had chicken feet which I was really excited about but it tasted too soy saucey for my liking. However, they got bomb ass cucumber salad at the side bar! The sauce bar was decent and had majority of the things you need to make a good sauce. The food items we ordered to put inside out hot pot to cook were good. My spicy beef oil broth was pretty spicy for a medium level and they also bring out extra spicy oil for you. It's in the shape of Rick from Rick and Morty. Y'all when I saw the piece of hair in my hot pot I was devastated. I knew it wasn't my hair because my hair was much longer and my sisters hair is purple. That definitely ruined the experience for me and a reason why I'm giving a lower rating. I understand mistakes can happen but if it involves food there needs to be more caution and care. The staff there were nice and there was one person who constantly walked around and asked if we wanted more broth. There's quite a lot of seating inside and the lighting in there feels bright. My sister and I noticed how cold it was in there so I think they be blasting the AC. Overall, it was okay and a standard hot pot restaurant. I don't think I would come here again unless I was in the area and absolutely was craving it. Hopefully no more hair strands in anyone's hot pot.

Great restaurant! The lamb is a must try. Price reasonable. The server is also very friendly.

I went to Zhangfei for dinner one night and it was nothing special to me. I'll stick with Hai Di Lao that's nearby instead. Or go give Xifu Hot Pot a try next. My partner and I were excited to try the place but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The main issue was the non-existent service. It was our first time and they didn't do much explaining. Worse, there were items we constantly ordered but they never brought out. When we finally asked them about it, we were told they're sold out. Why didn't they let us know the first time we ordered it? It's poor customer service to not inform the table about sold out items. Additionally, they also don't check up on you like they don't ask how is everything or did we need anything. Checking in with the table is literally basic courtesy. The experience wasn't entirely bad. I really enjoyed their tom yum broth and the ambience and setting of the place is quite nice and cozy.

Food: 5/5 Service: attentive Ambiance: loud and casual This is one of the best all you can eat hotpot spots in the Bay Area, the price includes an unlimited sauce bar. The meat quality was surprisingly impressive for AYCE, thinly sliced and very tender. They have a ton of broth options, and each one was packed with flavor. And this is the first hotpot spot I seen that has frog legs!! They taste similar to chicken but more juicy. it's a small add on, but totally worth it! Same with the squid legs, which were so fresh!!! Def coming back to try more stuff here!!

AYCE hot pot is prettyyyyy good here! I loved the Pork Bone Broth! Rich in flavor and not too salty. Tomato broth was interestingly on the savory side! They have a large variety on the menu, but oddly you can only order a couple items at a time. FYI - $34.99 per person for dinner! 龍利魚片 Sole Fish Fillet and 肥牛 Beef Belly were my favorite protein options! Very tasty and everything came out pretty quickly after ordered via phone. (They provide wi-fi too). Sauce bar was fully stocked and the sides included cucumber salad, chicken feet, oranges, sesame balls, and more! Very fresh veggies here :D

came here on a weekday during lunch around 12:30pm, and there was no wait. It is a fairly small restaurant so that explained why there's a wait during peak hours. When it comes to hot pot, my main focus is the broth. I'd say the broth is ok to me. Tomato was a bite too sour for me and pork bone broth is just bland. Noted that broths are extra, not included in the ayce price. Meats are high quality here. They have the best lamb I have had in the bay. beef belly was good too but if you are not a fan of fatty meat, it's a pass. Veggies are fresh Sauce bar and snack bar are decent. I liked and enjoyed their fried food as well that had a clean taste to it. (fried buns are extra) Overall, it's a nice hot pot place that i'd recommend to my family and friends. Will go back to try their dinner items.

We came for dinner as we were wanting to try out some hot pot with family back in December. In short, fun experience to cook food and stuff yourself silly with the different meats and veggies. Just be careful about spice levels because although recommended is medium, it was painful. L O C A T I O N Zhangfei Hot Pot is located in Pacific Commons in the area on the side shops in the same plaza as Target. It's located on Pacific Commons Blvd. Parking can be found on the street or just park in the larger lot behind. I N S I D E There are a bunch of tables with vents which is nice, but you're still going to smell like food regardless. There's a station in the back for some veggies and other smaller items and the front has the sauces. M E N U I believe everything was online in terms of items you can order. So you just make sure you order at the right table. We were looking at the options for broth and there was a recommendation for medium spicy on the menu. What you don't know is that medium spicy is pretty painful. I like spice, but this was unbearable. We ended up scooping a bunch of the spiciness away as it wasn't enjoyable and asked if we could get more plain broth. But I think it was a bit too late when we asked because we definitely should've just asked to change immediately. We were a bit too proud to give up on the spiciness. All the other items were fine. Being able to cook and fish for the food out of the broth is a fun experience if you have maybe 4 people. More than that it's kind of hard with just one split broth container. S E R V I C E Things came out pretty fast and we got what we needed and easily paid. Everything else was pretty hands off and you basically grab utensils and sauces yourself. O V E R A L L I don't think hot pot is great past 4 people to be honest. Or make sure the people who know how to cook are in front of the bowls as it's really hard to do all the cooking and distributing with 7. Make sure you know what you're getting when you get medium spicy soup. Otherwise I would stick to their traditional broth that's not spicy. Trust me your bathroom and internal organs will be better off. I haven't done this kind of hot pot before so it was good to experience and now I know better for next time. I'm sure I'll update this review when/if we ever got back again. But for now it was just ok.

FYI the $35 AYCE does NOT include soups and a majority of the menu, for example, if you want quail eggs that's an EXTRA charge.
    DH P.

"AYCE" is incredibly misleading. FYI the $35 AYCE does NOT even include soups or majority of the menu, for example, if you even want quail eggs that's an EXTRA charge. If you want to spend $35 before tax and tip for just some meat and boiling water, be my guest. How utterly disappointing. I wish I did not come here on my birthday. Salad bar was gross and old/stale, and they didn't even bother refilling with even an hour before closing. Sauce bar was okay. Service was great though.

    Peter L.

The AYCE deal was great with lots of varieties & reasonable price. Service was friendly & reasonably quick. Con: the sauce station & the snack bar are smaller compared to other hot pots, there are no bibs provided

Pork bone broth and mild spicy broth
    Deb W.

We went mid week first thing as they opened. The place is clean. It's small and a little odd Feng shui with the sauce bar near the front door and the dessert bar right in front of the bar to pay. The bathroom has mouthwash in it which was interesting. Ordering was done all through the phone. The service was slow considering there were only 6 tables. There was only 1 server in the front and no idea if anyone is in the back. As for the food the broths were good and flavorful. The meat selection is limited but still good. I liked the lobster balls. The selection for dessert was limited. Considering it's the same price comparison to other nearby ACYE hotpot places that have a larger selection of meats and desserts, I don't think I will come back unless a friend wants to.

The service was quick and attentive, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated. The best thing we ordered was the Sizzling Yellow Croaker with Fried Garlics (9/10). The fish was super crispy, and the sweet, garlicky skin was incredibly addictive. I would 100% order this every time I come back. We also had the Shredded Cabbage with Sliced Pork (8/10), which was nice and tangy. The cabbage soaked up all the sauce, making every bite packed with flavor, while the pork provided a great contrast to the vegetables. The House Special Fried Rice with Pickle & Beef (7/10) wasn't anything extraordinary, but it served as a great base alongside the other dishes. The pickles were an interesting addition, as I've never had fried rice prepared that way before, but I definitely enjoyed it. Finally, we decided to try the House Special Spicy Frog in Stone Pot (6.5/10) since most of us had never had frog before. The flavor was outstanding, with a great umami depth and just the right amount of spice. The frog itself was a little difficult to eat because of the large number of bones, but the meat was tender and juicy. Replacing the frog with another protein probably would have made it more favorable, but I still enjoyed trying something new and didn't regret ordering it. Overall, Ping's Bistro is a great spot for outstanding Chinese food. Every dish we tried was enjoyable, and there are still so many items on the menu I'd love to come back and explore. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality and flavor make up for it. I'll definitely be back.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece...
