It should not take 10 days to get in for an oil change, they gave us free oil changes for life, but it takes a week to 2 weeks to get in. When they recommend other service I never go to them as it would probably take longer to get in. read more

This was just an okay experience. Note that there is no 3 day exchange policy on new cars, only on certified pre-owned. If I knew that upfront, I likely would not have bought from Zimbrick. It says something about their sales tactics. Ben was great and low pressure; however, I told him I wanted all the safety features and he didn't share that there were more safety features on another, larger class of SUV. I would have driven that SUV and likely spent the $6,000 to $7,000 more. Zimbrick's checkout process is extremely high pressure. They transferred my license plate before I even got there and the finance manager pulled me into her office so I didn't get to talk to Ben. I never drove the car I actually purchased (it was closing time by the time I decided what trim I wanted). I ended up not liking my crossover and reached out to the new car sales manager. He didn't bother to respond and instead had Ben call me to see if I had questions. I emailed the manager again and got a vague, possibly AI response from him saying they hope I'm happy with them in the future. Overall, it's extremely upsetting that they don't stand behind their sales and have a 3 day exchange policy for new Chevys, even though they do for certified pre-owned (only because Chevy corporate makes them), the sales staff aren't informed enough to share details about additional safety features on other SUVs, and the new car sales manager wasn't interested in improving my car buying experience or letting me spend another $6-7K. I wouldn't recommend anyone go to Zimbrick and if you do, do extensive homework in advance because they won't help you by providing information about other cars outside the one you ask to drive. read more

Bought two Chevy's from Jim. Great experience pre sales. Service and vehicle quality are another story. Two recalls on the Chevy bolt involving risk of fire with no timing on resolution after two years. We go to bed every night with a known fire risk in our garage and no estimate for resolution in sight. The range on our EV is capped at 80% charge until a fix arrives. I am filing complaints with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the State Attorney General's office. I'd suggest anyone considering a purchase from the Zimbrick family or Chevy to look elsewhere. read more

They will hide what they can. I wanted to look at a GMC truck that they had. i called ahead of time to be sure it was there since I had to drive over 2 hours to see it. In the add and over the phone they didn't say anything about its problems. After i got there they brought me out to the truck, starting it right away, trying to get me inside the truck. The fenders were rusty (In the photos, they made sure to avoid getting close enough to see that.) It had had some major damage on the drivers side that someone had tried to cover up. Zimbrick did not disclose that at anytime. The Sales person (Chuck) had nothing to say about it either. I waisted almost 5 hours round trip, because they were not open about what kind of condition the truck was in. They are a waist of time with used vehicles. They will hide what they can, just to get a sale. read more

Zimbrick seems like a nice place to buy a car! They unfortunately didn't have quite what I was looking for, but I really enjoyed working with a salesperson named Tom at the Chevrolet store as well as Darren at the Zimbrick Hyundai location- they were both super friendly, knowledgeable, laid back and didn't act like they were under a ton of pressure to make the sale. They didn't act shady or act like they were hiding anything. I ended up buying a car at a different dealership that had exactly what I was looking for, but would have preferred to work with Zimbrick. read more

Ask for a list of all warranty work done before you buy- Zimbrick Chevrolet is 2 hours from my home but they had what I thought was the perfect certified 2022 GMC Yukon Denali. The service before the sale was great but that is where great ends and the nightmare began. I almost immediately started having issues with the vehicle. After the 2nd trip to my local dealer it was discovered by the service team that this vehicle already had a new motor installed in addition to about 4 pages of warranty service records for other issues. Had I been told this up front I would never have purchased this vehicle. Some people may have been ok with taking that risk, I was never given that chance. I understand that they are not "required" to disclose this due to it being warranty work but for a company that has Integrity listed in their core values I would expect it would be. They offered to buy it back for $4,000 less than I paid which was $78,000. It was less than 2 months since I bought it! Had I taken that offer I would have been out thousands more having to pay taxes on another vehicle. They had nothing in stock I was interested in trading. I had to follow up constantly with them on my questions. I had this vehicle for less than 2 months. Thankfully my local dealer agreed to take it in on trade. I am now in total out about $6,000 more than I paid to Zimbrick for the Yukon in addition to the countless wasted hours of calling and emailing Zimbrick and bringing the vehicle back and forth to my local dealer. I've never had such a horrible and disappointing experience. read more

Chuck Ebbs at Zimbrick Chevrolet Our original intention was to roll into another 3 year lease; keeping the same brand and same model as the car we were in. That desire changed after repeated frustration with a local store representing that brand. Our experience with Chuck Ebbs at Zimbrick Chevrolet was professional from the very first contact; he responded to telephone calls and emails promptly; all of our questions regarding residual rate, rebates, and the money factor were answered honestly; for example he let us know that when building a vehicle (in this instance a loaded 2017 Chevrolet Malibu Premier), the programs in place at the time of the ordering/configuring may not be the same as when the vehicle arrives. After we were already committed to going forward, working with him and ordering the car, we received a surprise phone call offering to pay the last lease payment on our current car and our monthly payment on the new car went down too as a result of changed available incentives! While this was exciting, it was not the best part of our car buying/lease experience. First some context to what was the best part of our leasing experience: I have owned and/or leased a 1987 5.0 Ford Mustang, 1990 Chevrolet Camaro 5.7 IROC-Z, 1993 Toyota Corolla, 1996 Chevrolet Camaro 5.7 SS with Ram Air, 1999 Chevrolet Cobalt SS. My wife has owned a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo, 1996 Honda Prelude, 1996 Oldsmobile Intrigue, 2004 Buick Regal LS and 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL. This is a partial list of the cars we have owned/leased not provided here to brag, but to point out that all of those vehicles were acquired new, and all of those vehicles came with a new car "orientation." In some cases the sales person stayed in the newly delivered car, pointing out the salient features and after 15 minutes said "good-bye." I am not ashamed to admit it took 3 days, with Owner's Manual in hand, to set up all the features in the 2014 Altima 3.5 SL and I am computer savvy. When we arrived to pick up our car and complete the paperwork, Mr. Ebbs began teaching us about our car; about the available apps for it, demonstrating at his desk how they worked. He then took us to the car and step by step began asking us about our preferences relative to the features and applied them! He demonstrated all the available functionalities of the safety systems and "infotainment" system. He contacted On Star and we selected (from 3) a program to start after a free 8 month trial. We were in the car for close to one hour so comprehensive was his orientation. My wife had to go to a bank to obtain a counter check and he rode with her. The time, attention and energy that Mr. Ebbs invested in our car buying experience from beginning to end was beyond belief; ESPECIALLY the new car delivery. It was unlike any we have EVER had. We left feeling so grateful that the car was already set up and that in turn conferred immediate confidence in driving it. This review is specific to Mr. Ebbs. Though the dealership is called Zimbrick Chevrolet, and Mr. Ebbs represents Zimbrick Chevrolet, the truth is our experience of Zimbrick was our experience of and with Chuck Ebbs; he was Zimbrick to us. Took my compact Chevrolet SUV to them for a sticking ignition lock out solenoid. One hour later I was presented with a bill for $144.01 at which time I asked if they had fixed the problem and was told no, they don't have the part on hand but yes, my ignition lock out solenoid was bad. I was a bit nonplussed at this and asked what it would take to fix what I had requested be fixed. The service tech replied that no one works for free and the current balance due was for the diagnostics performed....Trying to turn the ignition off and seeing that it would not release the key, just like I had complained, cost me $144.01....I was told that for just over another $300 they would order the part and replace it when it came in. I left and have not been back. Good luck if you choose these folks for repair work. read more

So we have used this Zimbrick before for oil changes etc. and had no issues before this incident I am about to write about so take it as you will. I was horrified by the customer service I received there for what was supposed to be a simple fix of my brake light. My appointment was at 7:15 a.m. and they were simply supposed to change the bulb of the brake light. I made this appointment many days in advance so it's not like they didn't know they needed a part. Anyways, they told me it would only take 45 minutes to do this and change my oil so I said OK, I didn't need to be at work until about 8:30-8:45. Well, 8:30 rolls around and still nothing, so I asked and it was "almost ready." So then at 9:15 I go back up, clearly frustrated because I was now very late for work, and they inform me that they didn't even change the brake light because they didn't have the bulb. The guy at the desk that worked with me was very nice and this clearly was not his fault but I find it to be ludacris that they did not inform me that the job I came in for in the first place was unable to be done RIGHT WHEN I GOT THERE. So two and a half hours later, I was extremely late for work and my brake light was still out. They wanted me to come back later in the day (and offered to do it for free which was very nice and I appreciate) but some people have lives and busy schedules and there's reasons why we make appointments in the first place. So the inconsideration for my time and not being transparent with me from the start beyond infuriated me. I am very disappointed in a place we have used many times before and will definitely re-evaluate whether we will use them again. read more

I was blown away that I went back in for the exact same thing they identified and didn't have parts for last year and never updated me with parts arrival (clearly because they never ordered them). Adding to the insanity, I told them I wanted the repair done this spring, and there was no record of the previous research, previous findings, and recommended parts, thus necessitating my needing to drive all the way back into the dealership to get it re-looked at (which frustratingly was going to take a full day). And then, the icing on the cake, I was told there now suddenly wasn't an issue and got less than 200 yards from the dealership before the problem resurfaced again!!!! read more

Don't trust this dealer! My husband took his Chevy Silverado to Zimbrick Chevrolet in Sun Prairie last week to have a check engine light looked at. They inspected the truck and presented him with a $1700 estimate. One item needing immediate attention, according to the mechanic, was the front brakes. Apparently, the pads had "no life left in them" and the rotors were "shot." Due to the long list and the expense, he elected to think on it and do what work he could himself. He had replaced the brakes on our cars many times, so bought what he needed and got to work taking everything apart to replace the brakes. Imagine his surprise to discover existing pads with less than 50% wear and rotaries as smooth as glass. He put everything back together and returned the new brakes to the store. Needless to say, we won't be going back to Zimbrick Chevrolet. We're angry and disappointed to be nearly cheated by this unscrupulous dealer. Lesson learned: take your vehicle to a mechanic you trust (preferably one who cares about having a life-long customer), get a second opinion, or do the work yourself whenever possible. read more

Misdiagnosed an engine issue. Didn't refund money...continued to look for the issue and kept the cash. Came up with an estimate of TWICE price of what was actually needed to fix my problem. Offers hard cookies and coffee while you wait. If you need work done on your Chevy, I'd recommend Ballweg in Middleton. I brought my car to you guys since I bought it, I work on cars for a living and since the prepaid maintenance was up I decided to do it myself. I was honestly very disappointed with how my car was treated at your dealership. There was oil all over my engine and the drain plug was WAY over tighten. I told the service advisor Durant and he didn't seem to really care about it, all they did was clean the engine and CHARGED me for an oil change even though it wasn't my fault they didn't clean up their mess and over tighten the drain plug. I will not be bringing my car back to this location again if that's how they do business now and I won't recommend them to anyone anymore.Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. I bought my 2013 Chevy Impala from Zimbrick Chevrolet in Sun Prairie and I would take it there to have the service done on it. I had an oil change done in December, 2016 and was told that I needed to replace the front brakes. I told them that I couldn't do it at that time and to give me an estimate. The service guy says, "but these are your brakes" (he was pushy) again, I told him that I could not do it at that time. I was given an estimate of $364.00 for the pads and rotors. I wanted a second opinion so I took my car to a friend who does all the work on his vehicle and was told that I did not need new brakes. I couldn't believe it. I was disappointed and upset to say the least. That is it for me doing business with Zimbrick Chevrolet. Do not trust them, get a second opinion. read more

I came in for an oil change and to have my tire (which was losing about 7-8 lbs of pressure per day) serviced. The service adviser suggested i get my tires rotated also, which seemed like a good idea. After 75 minutes in the waiting area, the tech said my truck was ready, and they could not find anything wrong with the tire. He had not broken it down and cleaned the seals (which I had authorized). I mentioned that my tire would still be leaking, and after about 3 tries to get him to look at it again, he finally begrudgingly said he could take the tire apart and see if he could find anything. At this point, I was no longer confident that he would fix the problem, and was also done waiting for my truck to get fixed. I went home and left a message for the service manager. Dave called me the next day, and did not seem terribly concerned that the tire I came in to have fixed (I can get an oil change ANYWHERE...in fact, I can even do it myself) was still leaking. He did say that he'd like the opportunity to have another crack at it, but again, I was not going to sit in the waiting area yet again to have my tire maybe fixed. I told him that I would not ever be returning for service there (BTW, this was my 3rd not satisfactory experience with Zimbrick Chevrolet service) and he said he was sorry to be losing my business over this. I was completely unconvinced by his words. I took my truck the next day about 200 yards down the road to Broadway Tire, and they found the screw that was in my tire and patched it up in just over 10 minutes. Hmm... read more

Stopped in on a Saturday morning to have the charger for my Volt looked at. The whole service operation felt like they couldn't be bothered. Receptionist was busy reading a tabloid and did not bother calling anyone. "Someone will show up eventually". The service manager in charge wouldn't want anything to do with a Volt that day (not even plug in the charger) because his service tech was out and gave me a condescending talk about the risk of dying while working on a Volt. I could not believe being in a Zimbrick dealership. I usually recommend Zimbrick dealers without reservation. Not this one. I ended up at Bergstrom on the west side and the problem was taking care of in 10 minutes. read more

Purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox from Chuck Ebbs through the Costco Auto Purchase program. I was really, really pleased with Chuck's approach. We sat and talked: He LISTENED. I had looked at the features of a 1LT vs. a 2LT. I knew I didn't need an LTZ. But based on what I saw, I thought I had to have a 2LT. What I had focused on was the standard features, not what options could also be available. Chuck pointed out that the features I really wanted were available on 1LTs as well. He did not oversell me - and I REALLY appreciate that. He also discussed some pros and cons. I would really recommend him / the Zimbrick Sun Prairie dealership. (and on another note, he also explained WHY certain colors required the upcharge. I had just thought it was a "premium penalty" of sorts.)Yes - I would really recommend Chuck. read more

I was referred to the Zimbrick body shop in Sun Prairie, WI. in the summer of 2017 to have my truck repaired from a trailer hitch breaking and the trailer hitting the truck. When I pick my truck up it was not cleaned up from the damage or the repair. I would have overlooked it but there was still broken glass in it. My wife and I took the truck on a short trip the next weekend. While driving it could hear strange noises like wind and something was clearly banging around like there was loose body panels. The drivers side seems to be where the wind noise was coming from. Upon further inspection the rear cab post was visible twisted. I took the truck back to Zimbrick the next week to address the concerns. I was told that the cab post that was twisted was not covered under this repair and that they wouldn't fix old body work, funny they painted right over it. I was also told that its a three quarter ton truck so it should make some noises going down the road. I took the truck back home and looked things over myself. The noises where from the bed mounting bolts not being tightened down, found rear seat bolts loose to. Still no progress on the cab post repair. Then I found two dents in the top of the cab that didn't get fixed either. The estimates from a different body shop to fix all of this is over $6500.00. Needless to say "Never ever take anything to these crooks ever" I will never go there again for anything. Our family has Purchased Chevy for over 40 years. NOT ANYMORE read more
