They showed up a day and a half late. They quoted me a third more than what was originally quoted, and after 4 hours all they had done was shrink wrap the couch. They loaded the truck with a third of our stuff and then unloaded everything. Manager refused to speak directly with me, stating "he doesn't speak directly with customers". They state they will show up tomorrow to move our stuff, but I have no proof except their word. At the end of the 4 hour window, with nothing done, the guy told me that he was "gifting me" 2 boxes. WTF. What are 2 boxes gonna do for me? I will never use them or their contractor, Colonial Van Lines again. Had the nerve to try to sneak a $500 subcontractor fee in there as well. They made sure to get my signature before deciding to unload the truck though. They can fight the credit card company to get their deposit now because the charges have already been disputed. I'd rather hire another company and wait a month+ to get my stuff then deal with the shadiness of this company. I will be calling BBB first thing in the morning. Oh, and I didn't even mention that the two movers they sent DID NOT WEAR MASKS the entire time they were here, even though they arrived wearing them. So yeah, now the health of me, my daughter, and my 70+ year old parents have been compromised. If I could give a negative star rating, I would. read more

Given that this is not the first time I use Zip Moving and Storage, I can honestly say they continue to excel with their customer and overall amazing services. When I gave them a call a little over two months ago, I instantly remembered why I had previously chosen Zip for my other moves. David Novak, my Moving Coordinator, was very attentive to all my needs, and very understanding about the importance of my move (and my mental sanity). In less than 30 minutes, I had a quote, a confirmed date, and a full description of all the things I needed to know prior to my move. Their website was also extremely user-friendly, and it answered all of my questions prior to initially contacting Zip. I even decided to got for the full packing service... what a lifesaver and timesaver!!!! I was assured once again that everything will be handled for me without any stress -- and they were definitely right!!! With just a few weeks before my move date, David answered all my emails and was very helpful providing with other options, in the case that my original move date could change. Fast forward to a week and a half before my move, I received a call from Peter Bozic (my other Moving Coordinator). He wanted to confirm my move date, answer any questions I might have had, and provide me with more specific details about the movers and the move itself. Peter was extremely friendly, helpful, reassuring and understanding of my accommodations, regarding PPE. This was extremely important for me, as I am part of the vulnerable population that can't be exposed. The day before the move and the day of the move, Peter called me to assure me that he's been in contact with the movers and that I'd be receiving a call from them with an estimate time of arrival. As promised, the movers called me 30 minutes before arrival to let me know they were on their way. When they arrived, they were already wearing masks and gloves. Aside from the great customer service by both David and Peter, I have to rave about my movers, Jorge and Nemanja. They disassemble and assemble, pack, and move everything for me - I didn't even have to lift a finger! It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. They were so, so, so careful when handling all of my stuff (making me aware of the things that were already damaged), and packing the plates, glasses, artwork, amongst other valuables. Nothing was broken, nor scratched. My new address has a very complicated entrance for moving trucks. I was convinced the truck wouldn't fit in the back alley. Surprise, surprise... Jorge maneuvered that truck like a pro and was able to successfully park it. Another huge hurdle was the size of the elevator compared to the size of my 3-piece sectional sofa, let's just say I was worried. I decided to wait upstairs, and in less than 20 minutes, my sofa was assemble. Jorge and Nemanja were fast, clean, and polite. Incredible! Peter called me a few hours into the move to ask how things were going, and once again after the movers were done to ask how things went. I honestly can't emphasize how amazing Zip Moving and Storage is! I'm so grateful. From months before my move up until well after the last piece of furniture was assemble in my new place, Zip's customer service and attention to detail truly exceeded all my expectations (once again!). Booked a 3 man move to go from one apartment to another. Was very nervous about how heavy and new my furniture was and it potentially getting damaged. The guys were going to pack and move me. They showed up with a 2 man crew and immediately I was nervous that this wasn't going to get done fast enough and done correctly. To my surprise, both Carlos and Guiermo from Rico's crew were fabulous!! They broke down my king size bed, marble table, desk and assembled it perfectly. They worked their butts off and was very pleasant and professional. Would have given a not so nice review due to only 2 men showing up but they totally made up for it. Team Rico - Guillermo, Daniel and Cris Oh my goodness - these guys were absolutely everything we wanted and needed in movers. We were referred to them through neighbors on NextDoor (I know, I know - aside from judging folks overly harshly for lost pets and griping about loud traffic, ND can actually be constructive and really helpful!) We were moving from our condo in Midtown of 6 years after having had a baby...and realized that an otherwise livable situation had become just too cramped. We moved to a place on the Upper Westside, and with our 13 week old infant, needed a LOT of help moving, including actual packing of our glass/valuables safely and securely, and also breaking down of furniture (mostly beds) and re-building them in the new abode. Not only were these guys efficient, quick, asked questions when needed (i.e. "hi, can you check to make sure this armoire is positioned the way you want it to, ma'am?"), they were on-time, polite, conscientious, and even were quiet enough for the first 20 minutes of their moving process that my daughter was able to continue napping in her bassinet throughout their working within our living room until it was time to take her over to the new place. Even our super super heavy armoire was moved with seemingly Herculean strength by two of these movers. The service was impeccable, from the online booking interface to the consistent customer communication pre-move, and even during the move, where one of their dispatchers called my husband to make sure everything was going smoothly.
