I was not impressed with my experience with Zip. To address the elephant in the room my move was 60% more than the top of the quoted range. When I asked why I was simply told "it took longer than expected." The week before my move I was called and told that a third mover was available and I could add them to my move. It was explained that this would not change the top of my quote and would make the process go much quicker. While I was assisted by three movers the third did little more than stand in place with a clipboard observing. Then the movers took a 2.5 hour lunch. All in all to move my one bedroom apartment 6 miles it took almost 9 hours. To contrast this when I moved to my last place with a similar amount of things it was from an hour away and the entire move with lunch took less than 5. I'm giving them two stars because their packing was thorough and nothing was damaged but due to the length of time of the move and insanely inaccurate quote I would not recommend Zip. read more

Moving consultant Ned no-call, no-showed TWO appointments in a row, and then asked as if nothing happened when he followed up via email hours later. ZERO ownership or self awareness, or just bad business. - When I asked questions via email, he replied with answers that had nothing to do with my questions! --- While I obviously did not use their service, if their customer service (or lack thereof) was any indication of their moving practices, I would absolutely recommend staying away. -- They may be good movers, and I feel bad writing this if there's good people there, but I wouldn't know, as I had one of the worst, most unprofessional customer service experiences imaginable. read more

-- Response to Comment: To be clear, no one from Zip contacted me directly on the day of the move. I was constantly reaching out to them, trying to figure out what was going on. The only call I received was from the lost movers who showed up to a couple different buildings before mine. I was not given a "rebate" at all. The lower end of my quote was locked in because of the drastically extended time that resulted from them being late and unable to use the loading dock. Finally, no "additional services" were performed. This was a 1.5 mile local move that in no way should have taken 6 hours. -- Original Review Do not use this company. I made a reservation weeks in advance and made it clear that I could only have the loading dock in my building from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and the rep put that in his notes. The arrival time range I was given was 2pm to 5pm, with assurance that it would be closer to 2. The day of the move, I am not contacted at all by the company by 3:00pm. So, I call for a time estimate. I was told that they would arrive at 4 or 4:30 and I would get a call. 4pm arrives with no contact, so I call the company again. I was then told that the crew could not arrive until AT LEAST 6 PM, completely negating the contract and making the movers not be able to use the loading dock which resulted in a way longer moving time. The crew worked at 6:15pm and did not leave the new residence until midnight. Thankfully, I pushed for a discount and locked in my lowest quoted rate. To make matters worse, a rep reached out to me a couple days later because movers left a dollie at the first residence where I do not reside anymore and expected me to coordinate pickup. The movers themselves were fine and hard workers but the management is a s*itshow. You would be better off hiring some people off the street for the day than this company. read more

My husband and I hired Zip Moving to help us move from our apartment to our first home. A very exciting and stressful move. I talked with Summer and Peter throughout my move. Summer helped me schedule the move and we drafted the moving list (everything that was going to the house). She was extremely responsive and was able to answer all my questions. I received a call a week before my scheduled move date from Peter (my personal moving coordinator) with the window when the movers would arrive. He and I reviewed the moving list again, which was perfect because I forgot to add a few things. The movers were on time. When they arrived, we walked through everything that was going versus the stuff that was staying. They mapped out the best route for them to move the furniture and boxes out quickly and efficiently. And they were FAST!! I loved having 3 movers. After everything was loaded, we walked through the apartment one last time and made sure they didn't miss anything, went over the packing list and headed to the house. The unload was perfect. Instead of just placing all the boxes in the first empty room they came to, they put everything in the room it belonged in. They were even able to get our sofa sleeper into one of the upstairs bedrooms by removing the door so that it would fit. This was a concern of mine even though I wanted it there my doorways are a little slim. But they made it work and didn't cause any damage to the door or the furniture. Very professional. We went over the moving list again, confirmed all the items were unloaded, paid the final balance due and it was done. Peter called me the next day to just make sure that everything went as expected and I didn't have any issues. In my experience, this company prides itself on getting the job done right. So happy I hired them and if I ever move again, they are who I am calling. Just so everyone is aware, they do not accept American Express. (I was trying to get travel points lol) Also, if you know you are moving weeks out, book them as soon as you can. The price goes up the closer you get to your move date. read more

Called Zip on Monday and was extremely lucky to get a time slot to move on Friday. Andrew my consultant/rep estimated everything perfectly and made me feel at ease. The movers showed up on time as promised and actually finished the move an hour less than what was estimated. The moving team of 3 lead by Rico and assisted by Guillermo and Daniel were efficient, professional and hard working. They all went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with their service. We chose their "white glove service" which included full packing and unpacking of everything we wanted to move and don't regret it at all. Besides who likes packing and unpacking? My family recently moved from California to Georgia and used a large moving company chain. We were not very impressed with their care. However, we decided to call Zip Moving and Storage for our local delivery from the storage unit to our house. My wife contacted Zip Moving and spoke with Alex Taylor. He was very nice and informative. He even provided helpful suggestions in case we decided not to use them. Their pricing was good but the level of service was even better. We received multiple follow-up calls to ensure all questions were answered and the move was still set for the same day. The day of the move the movers arrived on time. The team and their lead Rico Cruz was very courteous and pleasant. Furthermore, they were efficient and finished quicker than estimated. Rico and his team assisted putting the furniture together and removing blankets. We were beyond impressed especially since we had used a name brand company previously which lacked care. Great service and No hidden fees here! Martin was friendly and very transparent about moving supply fees, such as paper pads/ boxes, hourly rate, and trip fee. We had 3 guys and a truck to move a 4 bedroom house. The guys were efficient and wrapped our furniture nicely. No dings,cracks, or breaks, which is a plus. They handled our furniture with care. We had to do a move across Dunwoody. 3 miles but more stuff then 3 people should ever own. The guys were on time and busted their backs for us for 6 hours without complaint and made sure everything was perfect. 200 bucks under estimate and done right on time. do not use these people! they are money hungry liars ! i scheduled a moving for movers to come to my storage unit at 12pm because i had my condo elevator reserved from 1-5pm (originally they said they could not do that time but ned called me back and said they could and took my deposit!) day of, they called me at 9am to say they were 30 min away! going back and forth for an hour with maria, she's telling me i have to start moving! my elevator reservation would not be ready there no time and my locksmith was scheduled to come at 11am to cut the lock , i said we could start at 11 and they would not do that even when its their misunderstanding! when i even made my reservation with them i made it perfectly clear "the movers will be at my storage unit at 12, correct?" they said yes! do not use these people they are liars and thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

DO NOT USE!! They will lie to get the sale, then back you in a corner hoping you have no option but to keep the appointment! I called 2 weeks before my move and stated they had to be there in the afternoon because I had appointments in the morning that could not change. Sales guys said it's no problem and they'll call a week before with the window of time in the afternoon. They just called and said they'd be here between 8-10 am and that was the only time available. When I told them I only had afternoon time available they stated they can't guarantee morning or afternoon. And even when the notes said I needed the afternoon because of my appointments, that it didn't matter. Take it or leave it one week before you need them! However; Zip Moving and Storage made this the easiet move we have ever done. Rico and his crew were absolutely amazing. Big shout out to Alex and crew for both of my moves! Alex's crew were super friendly, efficient and had a mindset to be so careful with my items. I had a few pieces of furniture that were mirrored and they took extra care wrapping the items with blankets and tape. Nothing was dented or even bumped. Additionally David, Beth and Daria who do the scheduling are very commutative and were on top of any changes and followed through with every detail.
