Stopped by here for lunch since it is so close to work and a couple of my coworkers had mentioned the lunch specials to me. It is a deal no one should ever pass it by. I ordered the pizza slice and it came with a salad. I though it was going to be a small side salad but I was wrong. It was a great amount of serving and i was shocked. I also got a baby slice so I counted it as 2 slices. The pizza here is always a hit so you can never go wrong. They are staple of OC pizzerias for sure. Philly cheesesteak sandwich was awesome. So is the Italian sandwich all the flavors were great. The bread was fresh. The service was wonderful. We ordered takeout a few nights ago that Philly cheesesteak sandwich was a 10 out of 10 the combination of that cheese stick with the cheese was out of this world very very good sandwich same with the Italian all the different flavors of the meat and the salami and the ham and the oil they put on there mixed with vinegar was very very good. Also, they gave us side order of pepperoncini peppers. Very delicious and the prices are fair. The portion sizes are very large, which is very uncommon. Been meaning to write this for a long time, i visited a couple months ago and such a bad experience it's a memorable memory. I visited with a friend that loves this places one a evening and we decided on a buffalo pizza, once it arrived the pizza was completely pale & white. Had some little greens on top. We figured thats just the presentation and had some, I loved the crispy undercarriage but there was zero flavor absolutely none. We decided to ask if there was a mistake & a man let us know that they in fact tossed the chicken in.buffalo, but upon visual inspection he looked a bit perplexed. Unfortunately still he let us know the pie was perfect. My friend and I weren't upset at all just confused & were hoping to get what we paid for. His solution was to bring us a cup of the buffalo sauce, fantastic. About 2 or so minutes later a shorter lady came out to see us, we hadn't requested anyone and decided that was the fate of our sad pie, it looked like she came over to deal with a couple of crazy customers but she immediately look displeased when she saw the pie we were eating. She let us know that something was definitely wrong and that they were going to figure it out. It felt nice not being gaslit! So she left and we decided to stop eating the pie, we were about 1 1/2 slices down each and decided we'd receive a different pie. But then we waited, and we could only wait so much as we were starving. After about 5 minutes of no communication we decided the food we had was all we were getting and chowed down on some bread and unseasoned chicken. No one ever came to us that evening, absolutely ridiculous why bother telling us we're getting help? read more

We just moved back from Arizona. And came to this location for a few pizzas, and they were incredible. So we came back at least once a week. The last three times we have ordered pizza here, the crust has been horrible. Hard to tell the difference between the crust and the cardboard. Not sure what they changed, ingredients, recipe, cooking methods. I don't know. But this location went from the best pizza around to the absolute worst. We mentioned it the last time we came and was told the dough was just made fresh the night before, and it was again, just awful. Best way to describe it is calling it cardboard and lifeless. People have been telling me this pizza was super good and that I needed to try it! They were 100 percent right! I got the large zitos special pizza, which was huge and it didn't skimp on the toppings! Definitely enough to feed four people! Second time coming here and it's better than I remember! The service was friendly, prompt, and the pizzas were BOMB! We got two large pizzas for the five of us and it was plentiful. On one of them, we ordered several toppings and it was a perfectly made and tasting pizza. I was very disappointed with zitos. I ordered a large all meat pizza. The crust was burnt at the bottom. I asked for extra sausage and the toppings looked old and dry. I also ordered 2 orders of wings, 1 without hot sause, with bbq sause on the side, 1 Buffalo style. Both had hot sauce and the wings were over cooked until they were dry. So disappointed. Just placed an order over the phone for pickup. We ordered 1 large pepperoni pizza, thin crust and well done. And 1 small order of Cinna-knots. We picked up our order and opened it up at home to find that our pizza was thick crust and our Cinna-knots didn't come with any of the sauce. We order from here frequently because it's our closest pizza place but they consistently disappoint us. Sadly might need to start ordering from somewhere else. read more

Some context- I am not a fan of Zito's on chapman near the 57, I have gone there a bunch of times to eat hoping the food would get better as I like the location and the staff. Every time we go we end up disappointed, so we haven't gone in a while. I was very reluctant to come here but since some Yelp OG's blessed the place off I went ...... TIP- living social app/website has coupons for Zito's make sure to grab one. One of the first things I did was to express how I don't like the other location and asked if this location is any better. What broke the ice for me was the guy at the counter not only AGREED with me that the other location stinks, tons of people walk in saying the same thing, and told me this location is the one to go to! (I will keep his name anonymous lol)- Well he was right!!!!! Got the standard double pepperoni and out came a delicious pizza that we all enjoyed. Plenty of toppings and what impressed me is that the pizza was seemingly cooked 'well done' - perfect for double the toppings! Zito's is also one of the rare places that still does pitchers of beer if that is your thing. Oh Zito's you've broken our hearts. Which once was our go to pizza place has made a change to their cheese and now puts out a soggy mush pizza. Evidently, this new soggy pizza phenomenon is so prevalent the staff even has a procedure once the pizza comes out in an attempt to de-mush the pie. The manager who was very nice to refund our money was also acutely aware as well and acknowledged the new cheese is the root of this cheesy conundrum. Once home the pizza was a mess. Even the paper underneath was congealed into the mush and you had to tear paper out of your mush slice. My mother being the glass is half full kinda woman suggested; "think of it as lasagne and not pizza so you don't mind the mush" when you can't hold the slice. We used to go to Zitos twice a month since we live two blocks away and have a household of vegetarians it was an easy dinner choice. Now we have a hard choice and will have to find another pizza place. Sad day indeed....just when you thought 2020 was bad enough Zito's changes ingredients and you have to eat your pizza with a spoon. read more
