    8e the item I ordered
    Doc R.

This is not the first time I've had issues with this place but I thought I would give them another chance. I ordered my usual that I have been getting regularly from this place. The eggs were so over cooked they were terrible. The tenderloin was also Incredibly spicy which it never is. I reported the issue the same day but no manager is available to discuss. Left my name and phone number. After no call I went in and they assured me they would pass it on to the manager. Over a week passed by with no call. Reached out by phone to be informed the manager isn't in and rarely is. I would need to leave my name and number again. I hope the lack of taking care of their customer was worth the lost repeat business.

    1a. SPRING ROLL (TO GO)

Food is not very good. I got shrimp spring rolls and a grilled pork bahn mi. The bahn mi was supposed to have pate mix, pickled carrots, cucumbers and cilantro. It only had meat and carrots and they weren't even pickled. The spring rolls were the skinniest spring rolls I've ever eaten in my life and were missing cilantro like they said they were supposed to have. Those two items took 25 mins to bring out. A sandwich and spring rolls shouldn't take that long. Will not be going back.

Ordered a phone order of fried rice, pad Thai and a bahn mi at 6:30 pm. Was told it was going to take 15 minutes and It's now 7:30 and still in the lobby. "It will take a minute" is all that's being said. Don't waste your time. Buckeye is growing and this won't be the only pho spot around to try. Look elsewhere

    2B Chicken Pho!

Parking in front of business, in a restaurant business strip mall, nice displays of menu items on outside of business. Food was absolutely amazing! You can tell it's freshly made and the side plate of veggies is fresh produce. Chicken was tender and very nicely seasoned, the SPRING ROLLS soooo delicate and delicious!! Egg rolls were good! Fried rice was amazing!! The BOBA in the strawberry smoothie!!! You can tell the boba in the smoothie was real boba!! I'm impressed being my first Vietnamese food experience! I'll be back to try more menu items!! The staff were so helpful and friendly! Prompt service and our food didn't take long to reach the table! The inside setting is nice, low music playing, tv on, nice experience!

The egg rolls were crispy with mostly meat balanced with other flavorful fillings. The Vietnamese coffee was probably one of the strongest I've tasted, a little on the more bitter side, but a few sips and you're good to go. Yes, there's usually a wait since the place has limited seating and sometimes they even sell out, but definitely worth trying! Wasn't too loud and cozy atmosphere. Bring yourself something to do since there's not much to walk around in the area while you wait. Overall, some of the best pho, appetizers, and drinks in the valley with that traditional and authentic flavor. Also, it always feels good to support your local family-run businesses.

Get your ass in the car and eat here NOW!…read more Phenomenal. FLAVOR bomb! First time trying Cambodian cuisine and wow -- totally impressed. Flavor is honestly getting harder to find lately, but this place delivers BIG on flavor and especially on spice. They actually have spice levels from 2 all the way up to 15 (yes, fifteen ). I ordered a level 5 and my mouth was definitely on fire -- in a good way. Next time I might go even hotter because the heat didn't overpower the flavor, it enhanced it. Solid vegan options . My husband tried the Cambodian pho, which was a totally new experience for us since we've only ever had Vietnamese pho., Super comforting, really well balanced. Also huge shoutout to our server -- phenomenal service from start to finish. The restaurant itself is adorable too, with handmade art pieces and even beautiful purses imported from Cambodia for sale. Casual vibe, not fancy, but the food, spice, and service absolutely make it worth coming back. First Cambodian experience = a success. We'll definitely be back for more .

They communicated their levels as #5 medium, #10 hot and #15 very hot .Didn't sound like they did in between numbers and it seemed like a strange numbering system. The chilli crisp oil on the table was spicy so we started with Cambodian sour soup at medium spice (#5 ) It usually has chicken broth and fish sauce I believe but the owner made it vegetarian for us. The soup was good but it felt less spicy than we wanted. The tartness of the soup was really good though and as we ate more of the bottom of it it had a tad more spice. It was also good with the table chilli crisp oil. It came in a hot pot as we love and they refilled the candle for us. Their spoons were awkward for the shape of the hotpot and it was a little hard to scoop out the soup. Next we decided to try a curry. All their curries didn't have chicken stock. The yellow one also didn't have shrimp paste we were told and we decided to go with that one. We ordered it at #10 out of 15 spice level with tofu and it also came with some veggies. #10 was flavorful but we probably would have been fine with the highest #15 spice level here. When I walked around to see the art in the restaurant I saw a big sign on a monitor saying they don't refund plates that are too spicy. The yellow curry did feel different than a typical Thai yellow curry which was fun and was good. We definitely would go with the highest spice level here if we were to be back here and I think we would have liked it more that way. Good spot for vegan and vegetarian options. Based on this one experience i'd give it 3.5 stars. I'd have to try more and at the higher spice levels to decide between 3 stars or 4 stars. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That alone was frustrating, but the food was even more disappointing. The Vietnamese crepe we used to enjoy was completely off. It was thick and doughy like pizza crust instead of the light, crispy texture it used to have (which all Vietnamese crepes have, actually). We ended up throwing most of it away and just eating some of the veggies inside. The spring roll was another letdown. Basically all noodles, hardly any veggies or meat, and only "two shrimp" (really just one shrimp cut in half). I had actually read another review saying the same thing right before writing my update. My husband and I laughed since we were literally about to write the same. Customer service didn't help either. I had to repeat my order three times because the staff member kept stopping to talk to a coworker. It felt really dismissive. Even the Thai tea, while tasty, was only filled about 3/4 of the way. The only decent part of the meal was the vermicelli bowl. I'm not sure if ownership changed, but the flavors, portions, and overall experience were way off from what this place used to be. Honestly, you're better off going to the other Vietnamese spot nearby for better flavor and value.

This place seemed like our best bet. Since this time of year is busy in AZ with so many snowbirds, I booked a reservation through the online portal. It didn't end up being necessary. We were seated right away and never asked about our reservation. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. From the parking lot, it looks small and more like a fast food place, but it is actually looks double the size once you get inside. It has a nice sit-down ambience with new, clean, and somewhat rigid booths. Straight posture was definitely encouraged here in these upright seats. Although it does seem like a lot of people might order items to go, we were shielded from any traffic while eating. To start, we shared some sushi rolls. The spicy salmon was nice, but I really liked the sweetness of the unagi eel roll. They were a little sloppy in preparation, but this didn't impact the flavor. Each plate came with 8 pieces of sushi, some sliced ginger, and a small ball of wasabi. My uncle asked for an additional plate of wasabi and the server delivered it, but he commented on how they usually end up throwing it away because most people don't eat much of the green ball of fire. The table had a container of disposable chopsticks as well as two types of soy sauce. I was delighted to find the 50% less sodium variety with the green label. small plates with one paper napkin each were part of the setup. We had to ask our server for more napkins after my husband splatter soy sauce all over himself. The server brought just two more. It really wasn't enough to fix the 101-dalmatian spots he had acquired from the black soy splattered all over his white jacket. We also ordered curry. My uncle indulged in the pumpkin curry with shrimp. The bowl was massive - much bigger than mine. I had the red curry with tofu. It was beautifully presented with perfectly formed cubes of extra firm tofu lined up in the yellow soup. There was also bright red strips of bell pepper adding a pop of contrasting color. Unfortunately it didn't seem like my curry was well blended. It was as if they added cold coconut milk to a hot pan and it possibly heated up too fast causing it to separate and slightly curdle. Despite this, it still tasted good. I did have some trouble with the large size of tofu and the length of the bell pepper strips. I wish both had been just a tad bit smaller to fit in my mouth. I only had a spoon, so cutting the pieces wasn't an option. To go, I ordered the spicy green beans with shrimp to take home to my mom. She enjoyed two meals out of it. The shrimp was large and plump. Plus there was no shell or tail to pull off making it much easier and more pleasant to eat. Our bill came out to just over $100 with iced tea and sake added to the above. It seemed reasonable for the five plates we ordered. We had come during happy hour where certain items are a dollar cheaper, but I don't think we ended up ordering off that discounted menu. All and all, it was a decent meal and experience. I might come back here because of the convenient location and the availability of both sushi and Thai curry on the menu.
