We (2 adults and 2 children) came in on a Monday around 5:30 and were seated right away. They had 4 specials for the night, but since we had already looked at the menu we had our minds already set. We ordered the Zorro's dip and that was a great start! It reminded me of a spicy cheese dip mixed with chili, and was delicious. Just spicy enough. My kids ordered a tostada with beans and cheese, and side of beans and rice. Both enjoyed their items. I had the taco salad with shredded chicken. It was delicious and the chicken was very soft, almost like salsa chicken. My husband ordered the chili verde and ate every bite. Of course we had to end with dessert, both the fried ice cream and churros/ice cream were great. Although, we did prefer the churros ice cream. Service was fast and friendly. They offered suggestions when asked and were quick with refills and requests. There are no special kids meals to color, however we did see they had some cups of crayons near the registers so we played games on our napkins. As y'all know, I'm a creature of habit and my go to at Zorro's is the #6. I don't know what it's called. It is shrimp and crab enchiladas with a white wine cream sauce and it never disappoints. We came early on a Sunday and had brunch then walked over to Art in the Park! We were hopeful and remembered good food and good service from the last time we visited some years ago. However, this time we were disappointed. The wait staff were curt and cold. The food, which came out very fast after we ordered, lacked any discernible seasoning. Maybe the breakneck speed of the food's preparation was part of the reason for this dearth of flavor. My mom and I both left large amounts of lunch uneaten, unfortunately, and will find a new lunch spot next time we are passing through. read more

The Mrs and I decided to stop by since it had good reviews, and it was ok, and the service was fine. Everyone there was helpful and willing to assist if we needed anything. Just never got a refill or more napkins which is fine, I didn't mind going and grabbing some. The food the chile verde was fine. The sauce didn't have much flavor it was a bit bland it happens but I wouldn't try it again, which is sad because that's my go to when ordering Mexican. My wife ordered some enchiladas they came made with flour tortillas so that was an interesting choice to use. Chips and salsa highlight for sure. The Mexican decor mixed with the bachata music, better to have actual Mexican music. They had something from Chile on the TV. So mixing quite a bit of different cultures in this Mexican restaurant. The food quality has gone down while the price for the food has jumped way high. We drove to Pismo to walk Psomo Preserve. An early Mexican dinner sounded great. We once thoroughly enjoyed Zorro's food. Not October 13, 2025. The combination meals (Quesadlla & Two tacos) we tasteless - literally tasteless, loaded with water and small portions of meat. A sprinkly of shredded cheese cost $2.00 and a quarter of slices avocado cost $3. The two-taco meal cost a total of $24 (with the sprinkle of cheese and sliced avocado included). Beer was $6.00 per bottle. Service was OK, but not spectacular. Zorros has lost if flavor and left us with a high cost. read more

We ordered take out and had the tri tip tacos which is a special. Super delicious tacos, salsa had great flavor, looked like a cute spot to eat we were staying down the street so we got takeout. I LOVE this place. Breakfast and lunch joint with really good food. We had just hiked for an hour and a half and this is the local Shell Beach place to feast. After we ordered we saw this large black mortar bowl come out a nearby table and I asked what was inside and the patron replied chiliques...I will get that next time simply for the uniqueness as it arrives to the table. Right off the bat, we decided we wanted to share a small order of biscuits and gravy, which was actually one whole very large biscuit with gravy so if you're sharing with somebody, I think one biscuit is plenty. I opted to get the scrambled eggs with diced ham inside the home fried potatoes, sautéed with onions and a side of toast. It was more than enough food as I took half home. ( could be that biscuit we shared lol). Oh, and we also asked for a basket of chips and salsa before our breakfast arrived and their salsa is to die for. I noticed they sold it in jars to take home, which was a big consideration for me. They also bottle their own hot sauce, which my daughter sampled and said it was very spicy and delicious. My daughter opted for huevos rancheros, which she really enjoyed. She always switches the egg from an egg on top to one scrambled, but as I stated with my meal, she could not eat it all, and took more than half home. Portions seem large to me, food is delicious, and service was amazing. We both also know that they had a pretty good price point. This night, I found my way to Zorro's Cafe and Cantina for my troupe decided to seek out Mexican and Spanish cuisine. This eatery has a small parking lot but there is street parking as well. In addition, they also possess indoor and outdoor seating. I knew that I had entered into a special restaurant when I saw that the cantina was at capacity even for a Tuesday. My 5 minute wait time observation gave me a smile for the staff were all segments of a well oiled machine. No bill with card waited on the table for more than just a few minutes and each table was cleared and cleaned within minutes of a patron's departure. The margaritas, not pictured, were perfectly made being not too strong to diminish it and the chips and salsa were presented to our table within minutes after the menus. The food was outstanding as well was the shareable Fried Ice Cream. I always start my restaurants with 5 stars before I arrive. The ratings they receive is dependent on a number of different factors. The restaurant guide reserves a 5 Star rating for certain eateries that have specific elements. Zorro's Cafe and Cantina, in my opinion, deserves a 5 star rating for both quality of food and customer service. This place is really cute. Small but very clean and sunny outside. We were seated quickly on the patio. Promptly brought chips & salsa, as well as got our drink order in. They serve breakfast til 3 which worked out well for our youngest. I loved the salsa it was very fresh & flavorful, not just spicy. The chips were great too. We ordered the tortilla soup, a small side of guac, chili verde enchiladas, a mix of - chicken suiza & one chili verde enchilada plate & 2 kids meals - quesadilla & pancakes. I loved the suiza enchilada. The rice was also very flavorful. The chili verde was ok. The pork was cubed very large. I think, in an enchilada smaller chunks or shredded would be easier to eat. The soup was very good as well. We got a bowl so we could all have a few bites tho my kiddo ate most of it. The pancakes were buttermilk and really delicious. My little one kept calling them dessert tacos since she's not big on Mexican food. We'd definitely go back. Tho it's a Mexican restaurant several of their burgers and sandwiches seemed really good. I didn't notice the specials board on the way in, there were several items there that sounded great. I'd I had any "recommendation" it would be for them to have the specials posted where folks are seated or share them w the regular menus. This is a cute small restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. One of my nieces had the Local Burrito with eggs, cheese, hash browns & bacon. My other niece had the Sweet corn tamale with scrambled eggs rice & beans my. Sister had the Crab Eggs Benedict with hash browns. Off the main road and super cozy. The service was on top of the status of his tables and the needs of his guests. The water and beer flowed without having to raise a hand to get the attention of the server. I ordered the a la cart enchilada as I am watching my portion sizes. I do like ground beef in my enchiladas and was thrilled when I asked about the beef options. I personally have been getting a little tired of chicken, so I wanted to change it up a bit. The enchilada was not so big where I would need to take it to go, was enough to fill my belly and leave enough for my Hubby to have a few bites. The enchilada was served with tomato slices and sour cream. I was pleased. My Hubby ordered the 3 item plate with the tostada, enchilada and the tamale. Hubby raved about the refried beans and that the texture was smooth and he also said the rice was delicious. The tostada was crunchy and was not lacking in toppings. He was not going to try to finish it stuff himself but ended up finishing off the enchilada as well as the other half of mine. ----------------------------------------- Back again!! We love this little gem of a find. I ordered the single ground beef taco which had lettuce, tomato, cheese and pico on it. I ordered a said of refried beans as I just wanted a taste of it and hubby wanted whole beans on his tostadas. I love the ground beef, it wasn't oily nor did it leave a coating of grease in my mouth. The refried beans were smoky and almost chili-like in flavor. I found it super delicious. Hubby had the 2 tostadas and because the serving is so generous, he was able to finish 1 and take the other to go for snacking on later. What a great place. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. What I noticed was they all worked the room to make sure no one had a need that was unmet. Good job!! read more

The rice was dry and undercooked. Beans were ok and the asada tacos could have been good if there had been more options for salsa. The only thing they had was the same salsa they use for the chips they give u. It's a dog friendly location which we love but don't bring small dogs that bark at other dogs during lunch. This was an incredible meal with one fatal flaw. My wife and I were drawn to this place by the crab and shrimp enchiladas shown here on yelp. We got an order of the shrimp enchiladas with red sauce and the crab/shrimp combo enchiladas with the white wine sauce. Both were incredible in their own unique way. We ended up ordering some grilled chicken nachos for our two kids to share and thats where we dropped a needless star. Store bought pre-shredded Mexican style cheese. As you would expect, none of it ever quite melted and gave the whole dish a weird taste and texture. Neither of my nacho loving kids would touch them. I don't blame them. I hope the owners will see this review and realize how amazing they would be with some freshly grated jack. Regardless, we will definitely be back, just avoiding the nachos. read more

So, we (family and I) were heading home from SLO and trying to decide what to have for a late breakfast/brunch. My younger Daughter had heard of Zorro's during her time @ CalPoly, so we decided to give it a spin. We were NOT disappointed. Prompt service, interactive/personable staff and whoa! The chips, salsa, food (especially the Chili Verde) were spectacular! The building is rustic and not far from the beach, located among homes that were probably erected sometime in the1920's and 30's, so the local charm is on full display.
