There is a call box at the address to press so they let you in but when I arrived, a man came down without me buzzing and let me inside. 60 minute back rub = $55, 15 min foot rub $15 which I think is a great deal. Definitely a popular place. Looked clean and didn't feel sketchy at all. Rooms are separated by curtains and then they have a separate area for reflexology. I only had to wait 2-3 minutes to be seen as a walk in on a Saturday afternoon. My massage therapist was nice and very strong but this didn't feel like an intuitive massage where they're really in tune with what your body needs. It wasn't very relaxing, which was disappointing.. A lot of quick, frenetic movements. Barely any attention to neck or back of legs. The whole time, I was on my stomach, never turned over to do the front of the body. He checked in about the pressure a couple times as I had to ask him to lighten up once or twice. It was just a bit all over the place. There were some areas he said were super tight but then not much attention was paid to them. I'd probably come here again but to a different person. Didn't get his name though but he was a tall guy with a shaved head. The reflexology felt more thorough and relaxing than the back massage did, but not by much. The time flew by. Did 45 min laying down and 30m foot massage for $75. Different guy came and did my foot massage. Which is actually a full 30m on your feet and calves (not 15 on feet and 15 on neck shoulders arms like some other places). Also great deep pressure, which doesn't always happen on feet. Dark and had soft instrumental music playing. The foot massage area is separate from the back massage. For the back massage, you get your own little area that's closed off by curtains, which is nice. It was 25$ for 30 minutes of back massage. And when I say back massage it's like the ENTIRE back side of your body. They'll massage your back, your legs, arms, hands, and head. Was able to call the spa and have a reservation in 10 minutes. Inside they have a lot of chairs and staff so it seems you can get a reservation easily. It is not a private experience at all- for foot massage chairs you are sitting right next to the person next to you, for back massage you have a table and it is covered with a sheet around you. Zuyi on Canal is a sister spa to Zuyuan on Mott. We accidentally went to Zuyuan when we had made an appointment at Zuyi. A staff member was kind enough to walk us over to Zuyi. The massages at Zuyi were just as fantastic, if not better than at Zuyuan! We went for a family foot massage and all four of us were happy (which is very unusual!) Usually, my issue with foot massages is that they are way too soft. My massage was so strong, it was almost too strong! I'm not complaining though. The massage still felt really good. Zuyi can get a little noisy, but I think that is the case with every foot massage place in Chinatown. Everyone there was very friendly and the price is right. However, they have a security camera that they use and will get you if you can't find it. We got back massages for 30 minutes, and for $25 per person it's such a good deal. The word "back" is really misleading, because when they mean "back", they mean your ENTIRE backside of your body. This includes the back of your neck, your butt, and your legs. They also include your arms and hands. The masseuses have strong hands, so you should be communicative if it ever hurts you. They're super thorough with their massages. Joe was my masseuse and he was extremely firm and strong, exactly the way I like my massages. The other thing I should mention is that he was 100% professional. This was my first time being massaged by a male and Joe was excellent. No funny business, which I think every female is always secretly afraid of. The massage cream they use here is really rich and luxurious. I also enjoyed the hot stone portion of the massage. The staff are experienced masseuses who know what they are doing. They can tell the parts of your body that needs healing and really work on those areas. This place only offer deep tissue massages and really work on your tensions and knots.
