Came here with friends that grew up in the area. There was so much food for the price! Great place to come to any time we're at the beach!

I brought a friend to Zubies who had never been and for the first time I ate in the bar area. A friend who frequents Zubies gave me a tip that she prefers the bar menu and my friend that came with me wanted Oysters. I also did not know Zubies had a happy hour menu, which is awesome. My friend ordered Oysters on the Half Shell and the Happy Hour Fish & Chips. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Blackened with a baked potato, vegetables and side salad. All of the food was fresh, delicious and the portions are generous. The bartender who waited on us was very friendly, personable and provided excellent service. My friend loved the food, service and atmosphere as well. We look forward to coming back!

Full bar with a large amount of seating.

My wife and I haven't been here in over a decade, but it's nice to know things haven't changed. It's still a beautifully decorated and wonderful place to bring the family for a good meal. They have a few arcade games, but I don't recommend playing the candy crane game as myself and the kids were only able to capture 1 piece of candy at each attempt. The food here is great, the pizza has it's own unique flavor and the Caesar salad we ordered was fresh and crisp. The time from order to the pager going off was just over 20 minutes, so the service was a bit on the slow side. However, they were helpful when we went to pick it up from the counter.

It's fish and chips day. Ordered. Excited to get four large pieces. Couple ounces fish at most. I've posted a photo showing most of the deep fried batter I removed. If you love deep fried batter with fish flavor, this is your place! Did come with iceberg salad and veggies but the fries were sub par. I didn't ask but I assume all fried in seed oil. Best fish and chips I've had locally is at union Jack. Mostly fish with a little batter. I can't comment on the rest of Zubi's food as I haven't been in since it changed hands.

Inside is spacious. Loved the Aqua colored glass chandelier. They have a great cocktail menu! I wish I had time to enjoy a drink because they looked good when I saw a waiter delivering drinks to other tables. Our server, Abbie, was gracious and friendly. She was attentive to us and to all her other tables. Never skipped a beat on what part of the meal her customers were at (ordering, mid-meal, refills, dessert, paying, etc.) We ordered: A bowl of clam chowder - creamy and flavorful. Good amount of clams. A side salad - my hubby and I couldn't agree on dressing so Abbie brought both for us on the side. 3-piece fish and chips - crispy fish batter, not too thick. It's mahi-mahi so it's meatier than the typical cod. Fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Doused all of this goodness with their malt vinegar. We recommended this place to the other water polo families. Hopefully they stopped by too. I will definitely return! Thank you.

Max was our server and he took great care of us from beginning to end. We ordered the ceviche mixto to start. It was so tasty with all that fresh seafood in a light tangy sauce. We ordered fried tortillas to accompanied it. For the mains, we ordered the lomo saltado and the steamed black cod dish. This was one of the best lomo saltados that I've had. It had the charred smokiness reminiscent of the Chinese "wok hei" taste. The beef cubes were tender. The potato fries were perfect because they still had a bit of hardness and not all mush by the end of the meal. The portion was generous and easily can be split and shared with 2-3 people. The Chifa black cod dish was a smaller portion. The cod was buttery soft and had a very delicate flavor. We really like this dish too! We were treated to a complimentary sample of their sushi as well. So nice of them! It was a delicious smoky aburi salmon nigiri. That smoky taste was still in my mouth an hour after we left the restaurant! We will definitely be back when we're in the area again and will be telling all our friends about it. This restaurant has been opened only one year and I hope it will get more traction.

This place nailed it…read more We tried the Clobster roll which is a mix of crab and lobster, the Cali truffle roll, lobster bisque, clam chowder, lobster pasta, and the lobster mac and cheese. Washed it all down with their fresh bottled lemonade in strawberry and regular. First thing, the bread. So good. It honestly tastes like it's baked fresh daily and that alone makes a difference. Second, they are not stingy with the lobster. Every bite actually has lobster in it, not just filler. Everything was rich, fresh, and super satisfying. The bisque and chowder were the perfect add ons and the pasta and mac and cheese just took it over the top. The vibe is really cute too. It gives under the sea meets Fisherman's Wharf. Easy location, friendly staff, and they even have coloring contests for kids which is such a nice touch. Highly recommend if you're craving a solid lobster roll without leaving Orange County. Service was good and there's a decent amount of seating inside with cute little marine themed decor. Lobster roll combo with the soup ($32) - I got the Maine style (cold) lobster roll which had really good flavor and the amount of lobster was really nice. I wish they pushed the lobster down into the roll a little more instead of stacking it on top to make it look fuller because it made it a lot harder to eat. The side salad was okay. I liked the clam chowder a lot. Fries and tater tots were perfectly crispy! Flaming hot lobster fries ($25): This feels a bit overpriced for what it is and kind of lackluster. Fries were good and crispy but the cheese wasn't melted well. Lobster is thrown on there and I think it would be better with cheeto dust versus the random cheetos thrown on top. Fish tacos ($15): You get three tacos which is decent pricing. The fish was crispy and flavor is basic but good. All in all, a good spot to get your lobster roll fix without having to drive too far!

The smell of disinfectant was overwhelming and clearly signaled that they wanted us gone. It was a very unwelcoming atmosphere, and I'm not sure I'd give it another chance.

Along with that, our table also ordered: the quail with sticky rice ($20.99), salted fish and shrimp fried rice ($24.99), shaken beef with garlic noodles ($22.99), bok choy with sautéed garlic ($12.99), a hot tea ($4.00), Coca-Cola ($5.50), a mojito ($15.00), and a margarita ($15.00). With tax ($17.71), our ticket was $209.16 before gratuity. The NOLA Grilled Oysters come sizzling on a hot griddle, with four different fillings, four pieces each, for a total of 16 oysters. The price might seem a bit indulgent, but not if you consider the effort and ingredients that go into this presentation. Each type was flavorful, and there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. The salted fish fried rice was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the dish, though the salted fish was less salty than I expected. Someone in our group, who usually doesn't like salted fish fried rice because they find it too salty, actually liked this version for its milder flavor. The plate also includes four large shrimp. The shaken beef was tasty and tender; the garlic noodles were al dente and had just enough garlic--not excessive. The sautéed garlic added a smoky, nutty taste to the bok choy. The quail was marinated well and tasted good--but I wonder if it was fried just a bit too long. After this meal, I chatted with a friend who lives in the community. He'd been to this spot before but dismissed it as just another seafood boil joint. After our conversation, though, he said he'd be willing to give it another shot. I guess your impression of this restaurant depends, at least in part, on what you order. The service, by the way, was excellent.
