First time trying Zulu's. We will definitely return. The veggie plate was delicious. Falafel was crisp and hot. The plain hummus was great and the baba ganoush had just the right amount of seasoning. My husband enjoyed the gyro , w/ just one problem. He ordered it with onions and Tzatziki only, but about 1/3 of the way through he noticed it had lettuce and tomato on it. Oh my goodness. I absolutely love Greek food. I am from Houston originally and places like Niko Nikos and Yia Yia Mary's are hard to beat. This places beats everyone else out of the water. Literally absolutely no comparison. My friend got the gyro and I got the Zuki platter because I wanted to try a little bit of everything. Of course I had to try a bite of the gyro and just wow. Seriously I have never had meat so tender in my life. Usually the gyro meat is a little crispy on the edges and dry. Not this gyro meat. Absolutely delectable! The beef on the Zuki platter was tender to the extreme and absolutely wonderful. The chicken was perfectly cooked and stayed tender even though it was the last bite of meat I ate. The kafta kabob was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked as well. The rice and hummus were off the charts and the huge Greek salad that came with the platter was delicious! Seriously, there was not one bite I put in my mouth that did not have me groaning with pleasure! There are not enough stars to give this little out of the way restaurant. They would qualify for Michigan star ratings! When we were getting up to leave and I was relaying how pleased I was we were provided with samples of the most amazing dessert as well. A yellow cake I have never tried before with a hint of coconut flakes in there. Seriously. Treat yourself to the most amazingly tasty and surprisingly inexpensive restaurant!
