My friend picked out a pair of boots, & plans on returning here, purchasing on Friday. They are $200 and we've been shopping at several places. And this store has the real deal. These Two Toned cowboy boots, are his chosen favorite future pair. Quick note : Our friend is from Tennessee, and grew up in boots. First time in Boot Barn My experience was terrible. Zero customer service ! I asked multiple times for options and assistance.... The woman that looked like a manager with a headset and radio was zero help . Didn't want to be bothered and made my first time experience terrible ! We stopped in to Boot Barn in Lake Forest today to look for a new pair of dress boots. Of course to add to my 10 pair boot collection. My wife helped me pick out a beautiful pair of Cody James watersnake boots in black. Gina helped us as well and was wearing a cute pair of Lane boots . I had just lost a lot of weight and was nervous about finding something that fit right and made me feel confident again. That's when I met the most amazing and beautiful sales associate, Cathy. There was a large selection of boots, and more than I thought there would be so that was pleasantly surprising. A large variety of merchandise and price points to fit everyones budget was also nice to see. From what I saw they had everything you need for the Western lifestyle. The sales associate, Eric, was so incredibly helpful, patient with all my questions, gave me recomendations based on my need, and then helped me check out and become a rewards member where he also explained how it worked so that I am completely aware of the expiration date, so again I appreciate the information. Breaks my heart to write this but I do not recommend going to this boot barn location! I went to go buy a new ranch hat. I picked out a couple of things and went to stand in line. After ringing up another person the sales associate left without even acknowledging me. Someone else came and asked me if I needed help. I told the other person what had happened and the first sales person stated looking at me, gossiping and giggling with another sales person. Wow 10/10 customer service! A friend of mine has never bought boots before and I decided to go with her to get her first pair. We ended up spending about 2 hours looking for a good pair of jeans for my friend along with a pair of boots that fit her beautifully. She has wider calves so we had some difficulty finding a pair that she loved and fit just right but associate Gina was an absolute saint in helping us out. She provided incredible insight and expertise making our experience wonderful. I like this Boot Barn. This location is huge. I found a great selection of boots and hats and a decent selection of clothing and accessories. I came here today for boots. I found the cutest pair right away. They were having a great sale here as well. They also had a lot of beautiful hats. It seemed like there was a pretty good selection of women's clothing and plenty of cute jeans, although I didn't have the chance to try any of them on. They also had a small section of home decor items. I found some nice accessories here too. This store seemed really busy, and I had trouble finding help. The employees I spoke to while I was paying for my items were friendly. This location was also fairly organized, and I was fortunate to find everything I needed on my own. I will definitely have to come back when I need a new pair of jeans or boots. It's also a great spot to pick up a gift for a family member or friend. read more

I ended up returning the boots. They were Thorogood steel toe. They look great and are made in the USA, but I found a brand that has a better fit. I am giving them five stars because the service was great. I was greeted by multiple employees. I was made aware of upcoming promotions and the return was very easy. He proceeded to ask me if "I wanted to look in the back of the store for him" in the most condescending and sarcastic tone. So glad to have discovered this store! Don't know why I've been purchasing my daughter's riding boots from Target in the past. They have an enormous selection of boots as well as clothes, toys, jewelry and decorative items for the home. My daughter and I walked around in awe at the many boot options. There are definitely more options for adults vs children, but still a good selection to choose from. My daughter loves her pink Durango boots, and has already eyed out a second pair for herself, including Mommy! The gentleman at the register was also very friendly and helpful. That can be common across the nation at different places. I have been to TX, TN and other places in the South and you sometimes will see it when you are shopping. You're more pushy than the neighborhood drug dealer my parents warned me about in junior high except the first one isn't even free!! Other than that one incredibly annoying fact, fairly good selection of apparel. If you wear boots larger than size 11, as I do, you are fairly out of luck unless they can order them for you which is sometimes an option. If you wear boots in sizes 11 and below, the selection is excellent and the range of brands and prices is actually fairly impressive. I was in the market to buy a cowboy hat and did a ton of research before actually buying the hat. I found my desired hat on the Boot Barn website but wanted to try it on since it was the first time I was buying a cowboy hat. I knew that I wanted a black cowboy hat but wasn't sure about any other details. I walked in and I was amazed on how amazing this store was. I had to walk around to look at everything before making a decision on a hat. There were so many to choose from but I didn't have a clue where to start. Another guest in the store wasn't sure how a cowboy hat was supposed to fit. One of the associates in the store let the two of us know the correct way to wear and purchase a hat. It was good that I wanted to go in person because I would have gotten one way too big for my head. At first I wanted to buy the cheapest hat because I wasn't expecting to wear it as much. I was suggested to get a more sturdy hat because it was my first hat and I probably wont be buying another one anytime soon. After spending thirty minutes walking around Boot Barn with what I thought was my desired hat, I saw a ton more. Probably tried on every black cowboy hat in that store. I decided to bite the bullet and buy a hat that was more on the expensive side. It was a basic black cowboy hat from the brand Rodeo King. it was lined with beaver around the inside of the hat. it had a dainty black belt around the base of the hat with a silver buckle. Check out was easy since I went after 4pm in the middle of the week. Couldn't have asked for a better first experience for buying my first cowboy hat. Maybe I'll stop in for some cowboy boots. read more
