Super sweet and friendly staff! Got a PSL (bc why not?) and it was delish with a nice pumpkin flavor (~$7). Espresso itself was strong. Also tried the orange juice ($4) which was a bit of a let down (nothing beats Kossar's fresh squeezed OJ!), but came in a nice glass bottle. They have a loyalty program (buy 9 coffees get 1 free), so make sure to get stamped if this is your local joint. read more

What a fun little coffee shop! In terms of the space, the Swiss theme hits you as soon as you walk in, with the decorations and the Swiss chocolates at the counter. It's not very large, so there isn't a ton of seating, with only a few tables in front of the counter. Don't plan to post up for long (or take your order to go). It was cool seeing the unique Swiss chocolates and pastries on offer, and the coffee itself was tasty. Definitely a unique spot for good coffee and maybe something sweet! read more

I walked past this petite coffee shop a few weeks ago and decided to pop in! The shop is very small, can maybe hold 7-10 people max at a time, but I can tell that it is a neighborhood staple. I came in wanting to try matcha (i've never ordered it before lol). Haley and Angela (amazing people lol) asked if I wanted honey in it, which made my libra brain so flustered and indecisive, that I then went down a rabbit hole and decided against matcha. But the two of them were so kinda that they offered to give me a sample to help me make a decision. I told them to surprise me and they made me a great cup of matcha! I will definitely be back because of the two of them and I know where to get my matcha moving forward! Definitely going to become a regular! read more

Zuri coffee is new to the neighborhood. I ordered an iced Americano with a pump of chocolate , which is my usual. The coffee is strong and delicious! I met one of the owners Seth and he's lovely. He answered all my questions about the coffee origin and about the pastries. The prices are definitely fair for the UWS. They also serve pastries and Swiss chocolates. They have some seats and WiFi. Zuri is a minimalist coffee shop with Euro vibes. It's a small shop so more of a grab and go spot, with limited seating. I asked for an iced drip coffee without room for cream. 4/5, very strong and great tasting. I was the only one in the shop, and 40ish seconds after I was waiting, another person joined in me in line. Hello, I wanted to share my experience. There was a long line to enter so I came back later on - I went in to get an Apple Strudel Latte ( it was advertised on sign outside) When I entered the young lady at counter just stared at me. I placed my order and observed that when another customer entered that customer was greeted and her body language was different towards that customer. I work in retail as well and I strongly that ALL customers should be treated the same. I do hope that the owner of this business reads this review and reiterates to his employees that customer service is key and to treat all customers the same. read more

A welcome new addition to the UWS! Swiss-owned Zuri Coffee takes the place of the old Blank Street location, with a couple noticeable improvements. One of the biggest pluses is that they have seating now! It's limited given the small space (maybe enough for 6-8 people), but they've done a nice job fitting in some bench seats and stools along the wall. It feels just right without being too cramped. Most importantly, their coffee is great. Prices are on par with other neighborhood options (my cortado was $4.50), and they serve up smooth espresso and good service. In addition to coffee, they also sell bakery items like croissants and danishes. When I visited, the baked goods all looked fresh, generously portioned, and very tempting. All in all, definitely a keeper. read more

I decided to stop in this morning for a tea. Within a few minutes of me being there a man walks in with his twin toddlers. One of them slips because there is no mat at the door and his feet fly from under him and he bangs his head hard as hell on the TILED FLOOR. I immediately am like omg get the baby some ice. A rude prick working there raises his hand and tells me to mind my business as he approaches the man ???? Excuse me. A tiny establishment with 3 workers on a day we have flood and weather notifications and no one has the bright idea to put a mat down to dry your feet. He proceeds to put his middle finger up at me and antagonize me all because his frail male ego. I guess the toddler should man up because why would he need ice if he fell on his head. I'd never give this establishment a dollar but I will also tell all of my local clients I service not to as well. You never know who's in your establishment and next time hopefully whoever slips doesn't SUE. read more

My husband and I were visiting from Chicago and luckily found this place down the block from our hotel. We came here for the Julius Meinl coffee since it's our favorite. We live far away from the one spot in Chicago that serves Julius Meinl so we were so happy to be within walking distance. This place is a very nice and quaint coffee shop with spectacular service and very friendly baristas (and owner). What we loved most about it is that they still have coffee cups if you decide to have your coffee there and you're not stuck with the take-away cups. A swiss coffeeshop on the UWS just opened and I'm going to be honest, it was disappointing. First off, I messaged Züri asking what time their grand opening was a few days ago and they said 7 AM. That day at around 10:30 I arrived and was told to come back again in an hour because they were still setting up. I was turned off by this inconvenience and decided to stop by this morning after seeing good reviews of Züri on my feed. I ordered an almondmilk cappuccino ($5.88) -- The milk and foam was overpowering the espresso and it was not steamed into the beverage properly. Given the typical NYC price and average taste of the espresso, I will not come back. The muesli looks good and the pastries come from a local bakery, but the prices they're set at seem to be an overcharge. I don't think I've seen a ham and cheese croissant from a nearby bakery cost $7.50 until I reviewed my snapshot of their display. Furthermore, despite this Spring weather making the outdoor seating a nice option, the indoor area is not. It's a tight space shared between people waiting for their to-go orders and those wanting to sit down to enjoy their coffee. I would recommend Frame or Slate over Züri if you're in the West 70's. read more
