left to right - Eel and Cucumber / Trifecta Roll / Second Wife

This is such a great hole in the wall place! It's in a tiny plaza that I've driven past so many times and so glad one day I searched and found this place. Plenty of seating inside it wasnt crowded though a lot of people came for order pickup which was a good sign about the food. I only tried their sushi and dessert and it was amazing. I'll definitely be back. The waitress was so nice to offer suggestions and I told her which specialty rolls interested me but I can't eat spicy food and she made them mild for me. Who does that?! And I loved the roll it was the "Second Wife" roll (yellowtail, mango, jalapeño). I also tried the Trifecta their best seller (spicy tuna, albacore, white tuna) - this was spicy so if you love spicy definitely get this. My favorite Eel Cucumber such a classic and it hit the spot. They also have ramen but I didn't see any vegetarian ramen but the other sounds good. red bean mochi was delicious! Since it's in a plaza plenty of parking too. Will hopefully be back for more!

Stopped in yesterday for a quick lunch. Small family run establishment that I would consider a total hidden gem. We ordered the miso soup, house salad w/ ginger dressing, butterfly shrimp with a spicy honey sriracha aoili, and crunch spicy tuna sandwich. Everything tasted super fresh and I love how they didn't skimp on the spice! The portions were perfect for sharing (2 of us) we were plenty full and the bill was under $50. Service was prompt and friendly. I would 100% recommend and go again!

Amazing authentic Japanese restaurant with some of the freshest sushi I have had. The resturant staff is very attentive and accommodating to different dietary restrictions ( vegetarian/pescatarian/ etc) I highly recommend this restaurant.

Freshest sushi in all of south Jersey ! Easy take out also ! Kind and friendly owners.

We saw that they were doing curb side delivery tonite and were overly impressed with the customer service and quality of food. As you pull into the parking lot, the cutest little girl comes out to ask your name. After a lil wait, she brings out the receipt to sign, all while wearing gloves and a mask. The staff that brought out the food did so way ahead of when they told us it would be ready - customer service is 51% of the experience for me and this was a home run. When we got home, our experience got even better with the food. Everything was plentiful and just as we thought it would be. Overall, our experience tonite at Zushi Dozo exceeded our expectations and they have certainly won over a new customer!

We ordered online. Portions as advertised on photos at the business' website. 1 order of salmon sashimi has two salmon pcs. We also ordered butterfly shrimp sauce on the side for the kids and request was honored. Overall easy to order, packed right and fresh fish.

I got such a neat roll I've never seen anywhere else called the Hi-There Roll. It came with shrimp tempura and mango inside, topped with avocado and tuna (i think, cant quite remember). It was fantastic. My sister got just a shrimp tempura roll. Hers kind of fell apart while she was eating it. That was kind of a pain because the rolls are huge but good problems I guess. The rolls came out fast too the place wasn't too busy since it was a Sunday afternoon. Definitely going to give this place another try. It's in a little strip mall/type development so you can drive by quickly and miss it but don't! Yelp had me drive an hour for this place and it was worth it!!

The ambiance was a bit "pizza shop" but the sushi itself was good. Fortunately for us, this area has a lot of good sushi options and, thanks to that, I have gotten used to that nice Japanese restaurant feel. Waking in and looking around, I immediately thought that the food must be stellar to warrant the high reviews. I ordered a few rolls (tuna, salmon) and the edamame. I enjoyed them all, but only about as much as the other places I frequent. Admittedly, sushi rolls are pretty similar place to place with freshness being what differentiates one from another, so it's possible the five star ratings are for some of the specialty dishes.

Ordered sushi here for the first time and I'm impressed! The location takes pick up orders and delivery thru DoorDash for the time being as their indoor dining is temporarily closed so I can't comment on the interior ambiance. However, the server who brought out the order was very nice and thorough! Plus, she brings out an iPad to take your payment curbside as she hands over the food containers which is convenient. Now for the better part, the sushi! Ordered a Philly roll, California roll and salmon avocado roll - each were delicious and fresh. The sushi rice held together well and was cooked perfectly. I also appreciated the thicker cut cucumber compared to fine slices that you might sometimes find elsewhere. Will be ordering again!

I think I found my sushi place for now on. I drove by this place and googled it and saw it had good reviews, so I gave it a try. It's a very small restaurant so I wouldn't recommend going on a weekend without a reservation. They have fried chicken, sushi, actual entrees and even soup. Their menu is extensive, which is great. I tried the fried chicken and it was like a tempura chicken, but it was phenomenal. Highly recommended. My fiancée had the soup and she loved it. We even joked that when she's sick I'll have to go there and get it for her. The sushi is high quality and super fresh. We then split fried ice cream. It was basically tempura ice cream. It was exceptional. Highly recommend getting it. Good service, friendly people. Give it a try.

The worse sushi !! Extremely over rated. Would not recommend it at all! In all aspects, taste, freshness, price, the place itself.

If you're looking for really good sushi and Japanese food, I recommend this place. I saw Japanese…read morecustomers dining there. It's a good sign that that they serve legit food. Enoki and egg soup is my favorite appetizer. Light broth with umami and perfect saltiness. My second favorite appetizer is agedashi tofu. So silky like pudding with light teriyaki broth. Beef roll up with scallions: beef is tender with some kind of sweet teriyaki sauce. It's pretty good. Eggplant filled with ground chicken. It looks appealing but unfortunately a bit too greasy. The sushi here is very special. The sushi rice is silky and moist. The fish piece is bigger than the rice. The eel is a must try here. It's very big compared to the rice underneath it. It very flavorful too. Mt entree is steamed salmon with seafood broth. I recommend squirting the lemon to the broth to make it taste like yuzu sauce as it lightens the whole dish and makes it less fishy.

PRO: I will say, if you want a place where you can sit and have a conversation, dark mood lighting (especially forgiving if the last time you saw each other alot was 20 years ago! - LOL), Sagami is an excellent choice. PRO: They don't rush you out - take your time. It was a Thursday night, so not especially busy when we came at 6:30 PM. CON: I could not find an updated menu online - I'm one of those people who like to peruse a menu in advance. I started with a vegetable tempura appetizer ($10) - excellent, light, airy, tasty. My main was the dragon roll - very tasty. Service was quite nice. Appetizers came out almost immediately, the rolls took a lot longer to get to our table. This is the kind of place where you're not paying to fill up your belly - but if you do, expect to shell out some bucks.

I am not sure if they have Japanese roots but everyone took the time to make our experience and food phenominal, which is a part of the Japanese culture. The actual fish quality and care in preparation with the little additions of yuzu and other spices on the individual pieces were amazing! It was like every piece was served as omakaze. Also, the chef served the highest quality and cuts of fish. This was a second visit for us. I usually do a review after two visits to judge a location and this place exceeded our first visit... I thought the first visit was a fluke because of how good it was. Now I believe they are actually this good.. The locals that live around here have a plethora of places to go to for sushi (we know because we have been to em all), but this place is the Gold Standard in our opinion. We live about 40 minutes away and made the trip here because of what I remember from our last visit. The ambience is cool with tons of pictures of private parties and fun times people have here. I deff want to have them cater a sushi party for us soon! We went here the first to try some place new by searching Yelp.... However, I saw them pop up on either my Instagram or Youtube feed a couple weeks ago. I know sometimes InstaTube places are a disappointment, but do not be affraid to try here and form your own opinion.
