I did find a place where no meat would be available in SF . Once I started thinking of this place I started to map out hella meal possibilities with me creating dishes like San Francisco's native dish Cioppino and also making some salmon dishes along with some okay shrimp dishes like fried shrimp, skewer shrimps on the barbie, and scallop ceviche. The real feast on Good Friday would be getting the Dungeness Crab paired with some garlic noodles . This place has been a Mission District seafood institution and it's called Sun Fat Seafood company ( a former employee started Basa Seafood Express on 24th street). On a Spring stroll on Mission street between 22nd and 23rd streets I went inside a fresh seafood market. Inside you will see live lobsters in a tank. You will also see Dungeness Crab during crab season and also find of variety of fresh oysters selection along with scallops. You will also see sushi rolls when available along with different types of fishes. This place was the solution I was looking for to replace meat cravings and replace with seafood during Good Friday feast. This is definitely the place if you like it crustaceans and fish cooked or raw in SF. Inside Sun Fat Seafood you find some raw fish "fillet" to make your meal for " Good Friday" as some will "pray" and enjoy the fresh catch of seafood in San Francisco city by the "Bay" It's almost Good Friday so I feel "bless "I am alive and remembering those who passed away in peace may they "rest" I walk the streets of the Mission I "reminisce" and honor them on Good Friday feast as I eat some crab that's "Dungeness"

Got the fried fish and it came out crispy and hot enough that I burned my mouth on the first bite and did it again anyway. It's loud, it's crowded, the floor is wet, and that's the whole point. If you want ambiance go somewhere else. If you want good fish, this is it

The majority of tourist visiting in SF congregate by the water to grab something with seafood in it. Throughout the city you can find delicious crab in dishes native to San Francisco like Cioppino . You will also find seafood in many dishes around the city restaurants like ceviche ,honey walnut prawn , shrimp scampi, and Dungeness crab with garlic noodles. You cannot go to the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco at the largest Japantown in America this April weekend without enjoying a sushi dish with salmon. One thing about seafood dishes is it's easy to cook. You can't really screw up cooking a salmon or some shrimps. There is one place which has all the seafood essentials when you are miles away from the water in the Richmond ( not the city of Richmond) District in San Francisco . It's on Clement street and it's called the Seafood Center. On a Spring stroll by the See's Candies on 9th Avenue you will see the Seafood Center up the block on Clement. Inside you will see lobsters and crabs for sale which will save you time shopping and traveling to Fisherman's Wharf. You will see hella fish heads on an ice in a line up. The fishes inside are caught locally and some are caught as far as New Zealand. They also have shrimps that look okay along with Manila Clams. This is a good place to grab seafood to take home and cook or have it raw all four seasons in San Francisco. San Francisco is the home of Cioppino "inventor" which you can grab the ingredients for it on Clement street at the" Seafood Center" they have hella fresh crab meat and shrimp that's so "tender" you can see the all seafood once you "enter" So go and "grab "some seafood like shrimp , lobster, Manila clams and some "crab "and see the fish on ice by the "slab" it's located on Clement past the Sees Candies between "9th and 10th Ave"

PLACE: place is fairly small, no inside dine in, and there are benches to wait for your order. Someone greets and takes your order, then they give you a buzzer and you wait for your food. FOOD: Combo #1: Spicy Salmon Poke - very good flavor and the sauce makes it come together nicely, it also comes with seaweed salad, and rice. Combo #2: Salmon Teriyaki Plate - comes with teriyaki carrot and broccoli, 4 pieces of shrimp battered, rice, and salmon teriyaki, the portion was small but it was good. All combos come with water! Third time's the charm!…read more The first two times we tried to eat at Hog Island Oyster Co., we took one look at the line and walked away. This visit, we came determined to finally see what all the hype was about--and I'm so glad we did. The wait was about 30 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad for such a popular spot. The best part? Once we were seated, service was incredibly efficient. Our food arrived quickly, giving us more time to savor every bite. The oysters were as fresh as they come--briny, sweet, and tasting like they had just come out of the bay. We ordered all three grilled oyster varieties, and each one was outstanding. The toppings added layers of flavor without masking what makes a great oyster so special: its delicate natural sweetness. It's a balance that's surprisingly hard to get right, and Hog Island nailed it. Then came the clam chowder. Wow. Velvety, rich, and loaded with tender clams, it had deep, comforting flavor without feeling overly heavy or salty. Easily one of the best clam chowders I've ever had. Now I completely understand why people are willing to wait in line. Some places are all hype--this isn't one of them. Hog Island absolutely lives up to its reputation, and we'll happily be back!

The purity rep was super patient - going over the different products with us and even gifting us with a little gift set and out with purchase. We got lunch boxes and they were meh. I like the banchan and the quantity of food, but the protein dishes were lacking in freshness - the eel was better than the kalbi, which was just lackluster at best. Will go for the sushi next time. I did score black rice and toasted black sesame seeds along with rice paper. And the gluten free baked goods of course. Until next time!

I love the packaging, and the fact that fish is on ice rather than surrounded by those frozen plastic packets (which end up in the landfill). The fish is packaged in environmental "friendly" bags rather than in plastic. They also deliver at the beginning of the pickup period (i.e. The pickup range is 3:30-8pm, and it's at my pickup point at 3:30). That is different than other CSF who deliver sometime within their published pickup period. Now about their seafood. It has been nice to get clean cut fish, not something that looks like it was hacked from a larger fish. Everything is fresh. They send you an email letting you know what you'll receive. They also have recipes. The last item I received was 4.5 dozen mussels! I look forward to doing business with them for the foreseeable future. Just an aside. My daughter took a sea foraging tour with Kirk in 2012. She raved about how knowledgeable he was and recommended him to me. I, unfortunately, did not follow through.
