We have been there multiple times and food was great all but one time. It was super busy that night. Wait staff are great, especially Chrissy D!!! Atmosphere is decent, bar a little cramped though. If I could I would give this place -100 stars. We went here for my mother's birthday tonight and we have never been so insulted in our lives. My dad works hard for his money and naturally wanted to take his wife and family out for a nice dinner. The food was very expensive but decent. The bill came to $300 for all 6 of us and my dad went to pay the check, thinking gratuity and tax is included, a simple mistake. The heavy blonde female hostess/whoever she was chased us out to the parking lot after we had left and made my dad pay the tip. So rude and disrespectful. We had no intentions of skipping out on the tip but it's the principle of getting chased down in the parking lot. That was the rudest thing, we will not be eating here again. read more

The best steak in the area, actually, probably the best steak on Long Island. This is not a joke. If you are lucky enough to go on a special night when they have the 60 day aged strip, drop everything and enjoy that meal. The staff at 1North is amazing. They are wonderfully kind, attentive, hard working, and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about this place. My favorite choices are the marinated burger and the the regular strip with the creamed spinach and loaded baked potato. There are always some interesting things on their specials menu too. I usually sit at the bar, but service anywhere in this restaurant is top notch. read more

My family and I arrived last Saturday at around 5:30 for our reservation which was made for 5:45. We went early as we had other plans later that night. The well-manicured grass and remodeled building was esthetically pleasing. As we entered the restaurant a hand full of tables were occupied, leaving a great deal unoccupied. We were greeted at the door and escorted to our table. The table was tucked in a corner and was far too small for our party. We asked the greeter if we would be able to change our table to one that would better suit and accommodate our party. We were rudely told NO. She further explained that this table is normally used for parties larger than the one you currently have. My father then politely asked to speak to a manager and she then said I am the manager and the owner and at this time I am not going to be able to change your seat. We then walked out and went down the block to Edgewater which is an excellent restaurant overlooking the water. The restaurant was busy, but accommodating and the food was excellent as it always has been in the past. Although, we did not get a change to taste the food the "owner's" poor attitude spoke for itself. I will never return to the establishment and livingly locally, will encourage others to not go there as well. read more

Tonight my wife and I chose the lobster bisque which was superb, one of the best we can remember! We both had the night's special which was the pork tenderloin. The blending of the delicious flavors, mashed sweet potatoes, & salsa was on point. Kudos to the chef! Hosted a 75th Surprise Party for my husband on Saturday afternoon and it was beyond my expectations.The food,service and attention to detail offered by the events coordinator, Jamie Evers and carried out by our wait ataff,Chris,Lauren,and Chris made our event seamless. I want to like this place but they make it really hard. The open kitchen at the "bar" is kinda gross, sweaty chefs slinging food, not smiling. Owner/Hostess runs around screaming at the staff. We had a great experience at this restaurant. The service was good and the food was very good. The restaurant is pricey but the portions are generous and very good quality. We had appetizers and main dishes of fish (tuna and stripped bass) and steaks and all were prepared very well. The salads were also very good. The only negative was the response by the manager to my wife sitting on a dirty seat, when we arrived, that was covered with a sauce spilled by the staff. She was wearing white pants and had to go to the bathroom to try to remove the stains. After coming back she had to sit with wet pants during the meal. It was a mistake and they were very apologetic about the incident, but not to offer to pick up the dry cleaning bill or remove something from the bill or buy a round of drinks was not the proper way of dealing with an issued caused by the restaurant. read more

The food was absolutely delicious but our waitress was horrible! On our way out of the restaurant after a wonderful meal she ran after us and flagged us down and demanded a higher tip and to make it worst she threatened me and my boyfriend she was going to call the cops if we didn't! When we told her no she yelled and told us we wasn't allowed back and went back into the restaurant. I followed and asked to speak to the boss who was respectful but didn't do much at all (I believe the waitress was his wife) its such a shame the food was great but if I could rate less then one star I would.... read more

My experience was amazing!!! It was my birthday on Tuesday and we had a blast! Chris was our waiter and he was great! It was our first time ever visiting one north and it was the best place I've ever eaten!! I got the baby back ribs for the appetizer and the bed of black beans that it comes over it just out of this world!! For dinner I got the marinated filet and the baked potato along with the vegetables and that was like butter!! The best around!! My fiancé got the porterhouse steak with the steak fries and the Brussel Sprouts which we are not fans of but these were amazing !!! the waiter made it so easy for us being new comers and he insisted that the owners were Amazing and dedicated on the quality of their food that they provide along with the cuts of meat and the selection of the sea food options... I would say that this establishment is hands down the best place to eat on the east end !!! I can't wait to go back and try more amazing food !!!!! thank you thank you thank you !!! read more

I've been to this steakhouse one three occasions. The food is perfect. If I were only rating the food quality, this restaurant would deserve a five star rating with ease. Our server, Chris, has taken care of us every time. His recommendations have been spot on. The only reason I gave a four star rating is because of the speed, which I doubt is Chris' fault. All three times, our meals took Avery long time to arrive. This last time our order wasn't taken for 30 minutes and by the time our meal arrived 90 minutes had gone by. Too long in my opinion. However, all three times we had gone with friends and didn't mind spending time with them. The Oysters Rockefeller have been to die for, but the last time I went they changed the recipe. read more

I'm only giving the place a four because I've never seen a five. North One was an experience, and not in the bad way. When a good establishment puts effort into their appetizers like it's an entrée you know you found the right place. My buddy took me here and let me tell you I'm glad I came. The wait staff is unparalleled. The food was exquisite so my only regret is that my mouth wasn't bigger. A high class place, really top notch if you ask me. However I don't want you to ask me. Went here after watching sunset from Oaklands. Dirty Saphire Martini and huge bacon wrapped scallops were perfect appetizers. Medium dry rubbed 24oz Porterhouse with garlic mashed and creamed spinach sides as good as anything from Peter Luger or Smith & Wollensky. Staff was terrific. I love this place, too bad I don't get out to the Hamptons often enough to be a regular. read more

This was a extremely disappointing experience. We were a table of four and saw several tables of 4 to 10 people come in after us. All were served before us. When our food came two of the four meals were cold. I believe they were cooked and it seemed they forgot to cook the other two meals so the first two meals became cold waiting for the others to be cooked. We waited for 1/2 hour after finishing our meals to order desert. They came but never asked if we wanted coffee. We waited to get the check and then we were waiting for someone to take payment but we needed change of 100 to give a tip. Again after waiting 1/2 hour we left without giving the tip as no one came over meanwhile the Restaurant is now empty except for one table that several people who appeared to be the owners were socializing. Definitely do NOT recommend this restaurant. Truly an overpriced experience for cold food and poor service. read more

My worst experience in a restaurant ever. First off, my night began when I asked for a substitution for a side because of my lactose allergy. Our party had already spent over $300 in drinks and food. They said they were unable to do substitutions and if I wanted to get an extra side, I would have to pay extra. For the amount of money we were spending they should of tried to accommodate my dietary needs. In addition, I felt very uncomfortable sitting in a restaurant where I was very rudely spoken to by another customer. The manager saw this and did nothing to make us feel like our money and time was well spent at their place of business. If you want good service, do not eat at this restaurant! read more
