He gave me a fair quote and even sent over references of previous clients. Plus he took care of interactions with other contractors for the well and septic system. He also pulled all of the permits. He was kind and patient when we waited for other unit owners in the building to decide, and did not push us to move quicker or make a decision when we were not yet ready. Ordering windows took a few weeks and teams on install day moved swiftly and kept the area clean after! I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. Jacob really cares about being transparent and has earned our trust, and I would 100% recommend him and his team to anyone looking to install new windows in their home. We didn't have to worry about a thing; if an issue came up (as is normal with this scope of work), it was handled right away. Communication was top notch and we couldn't love the final result more! Because of that, we didn't think twice about contracting them when we wanted our garage painted, the floor epoxied, and a cabinet installed in our dining room. If this had been our first experience, it would have been our last. Frankly, we wouldn't even had made it past the quoting process. Communication was terrible and it took far too long (especially compared to the first project that was MUCH more involved). Erik was our carpenter for the kitchen remodel and is not only top notch at his craft, but is such a genuinely nice person that we requested him for this project. Thank goodness because he saved the day numerous times! He also communicated our issues to Jeff, who jumped right on to fixing whatever he could and trying to make everything right. Everything turned out beautifully (thank you, Erik), but if it hadn't been for the two of them and our previous positive encounter, this would be a two star review.

Amy was our sells rep and helped us through the process and selection of all the materials and choices. Never felt any pressure from her at all. Erick was the lead and did most of the remodeling. His skills were outstanding and he takes pride in his work and customer satisfaction. We added a built in cabinet which opened in the master bedroom and bumped into unused space in a wall in the bathroom. We were quoted a reasonable price and Erik custom built, stained, and installed the unit on site. His skills as a carpenter really shows and my wife is ecstatic with the removable shelves and the new storage space. Thanks to his skills the bathroom came out perfectly. Schafer Brothers are not cheap but the quality of both the work and the processes make the cost worthwhile. We now have a bathroom for my son that will last, that he loves, and my wife has the extra storage space she has been wanting.

I am absolutely disgusted by this company…read more Around 4:00 PM, while exiting St. Mary's Christian School, Lake Cook Road was completely backed up with traffic. I was following the designated parent exit procedure, pulling onto the shoulder that is clearly meant for parents to merge safely. I had my children in the back seat. Out of nowhere, a man driving like a maniac--apparently affiliated with All Family Plumbing--came speeding up behind me trying to bypass stopped traffic and nearly rear-ended my car. Again, my kids were inside. He then aggressively swerved around me at high speed and actually slowed down just to scream profanities, leaning up and down out of his driver's seat like an unhinged person. It was shocking, hostile, and completely unsafe. This was one of the ugliest and most disturbing displays of road rage I have ever witnessed. He put my children's lives in danger and then had the nerve to act enraged because his illegal, reckless driving didn't save him a few seconds. If this is the kind of behavior tolerated or represented by All Family Plumbing employees, I would never recommend this company to anyone. Professionalism, safety, and basic human decency were completely absent.

He was donating drywall and installation & gave the cost of his plumber. I'm a disabled solo mom of 3 young children. He asked for $1k for deposit. The amount was promptly sent. He claimed he didn't receive it. It had been taken from my acct. He said he would contact his as well. 2 days later (& after a conversation with him about the work estimated to be done), I wrote a deposit via check for $2500. The $1k to be returned. After that point there were excuses of why a plumber couldn't return. He gutted my entire upstairs bathroom without my consent...tearing out a bath tub that was only supposed to be lifted, a vanity and 3 walls (that were completely unnecessary to take out.) He claimed there was mold under my subfloor. Claimed his carpenter was sick. He knew I was falling down my stairs getting to the only other toliet, 2 floors down. Yet just had excuses of why there at least wasn't a toliet reinstalled on the 2nd floor. When I had a different plumber come... only a small part of the subfloor needed replace. There was no mold, as Joey claimed. And it was confirmed there was no reason for the tub or vanity to be removed. The new plumber changed the subfloor, did all the plumbing, installed a toliet by himself within 3hrs. To be fair when I added up the hours of the time spent and supplies (retail, not the super discount he claimed to buy things), First Response/Joey Malone OWES ME $2116 plus a tub and double vanity. He has denied zelle request to reverse at least the $1k. If you want to deal with a company who lies and steals, this would be it! Disgusting!
