If I could give this place no stars that's what I would give it. My wife walked in 15 minutes before her appointment to get her mani pedi. Another customer walked in and didn't have an appointment and they immediately sat that customer down first before my wife. The manager tried telling my wife that she made her appointment for 5 and not 4 and that she would have to wait. She has gone here time and time again but ever since Don left this location this establishment has been complete garbage. She will never go here again. There is a nail salon on the corner of baker and harbor right next to the subway that took her that day in full tears and she was more than blown away with their service. I've been here twice. I got my nails done for the very first time here. Acrylic white tips and a pedicure with white tips. I got glitter on my nails and the gel. For the first time it was $43 not including tip. I went with 2 friends on a saturday afternoon and they were super busy so we waited about 20 min til they could start on us. 3 people worked on my nails but it still took a long time. We were there for almost 3 hours. Plus the lady asked me to pay her and tip her before she finished my nails... I thought that was very strange. The second visit, I got a fill with a glitter design, gel top coat and another pedicure with white tips. It was $40. So that was weird that it was only $3 cheaper than my first visit. The gel top coat started cracking about 2 days later. All my nails are cracked except for one. Don't think I'll be coming back here for another fill. read more

They have a good polish and gel selection. I noticed that the new management provided a couple sterilization machines for their tools. Just got back from getting my nails done here. Staff was okay. First of all they didn't give me pricing before, then they proceeded to do my nails a color a did not ask for. I got a gel pedicure and gel manicure. Gel manicure 21 dollars not terrible! They charged me 29 dollars for a GEL PEDICURE, their regular pedicure is only 16 dollars gel should NOT be 13 dollars more! Was checking out and wanted to use my visa gift card that had 20 dollars on it but they couldn't find out how to use it and MADE me use chase and my regular credit card. Around 50 dollars for gel pedicure and manicure is utterly ridiculous and I am beyond upset. Did not tip. read more

This place fails me every single time. From the fact that you will walk in and wait 5-10 minutes to even be acknowledged to the fact that they're totally unfriendly. The man who sits in the very front, I believe is the owner & he can be nice and warm and all but usually busy. I went there Wednesday last week and got my nails done w Herry, Henry, something like that. He was rough as hell and seemed to hurry through it. Burped almost 5 times right in the space we are sharing and didn't even say anything lol not funny but wow! So like I said he's extremely rough and seems to just want to finish. I still tipped him and wanted to give my nails a chance. 2 of my nails fell off the very next day, one of them being in my sleep. I went back Friday and there only seemed to be a handful of people working so my lucky self got Herry again. Again he was rough as heck, "fixed" my nails in 3 minutes and shaped them faster than ever. He kept using the little machine file and I'm thinking "if my nails are already snapping off w out any hard pressure I'm sure filing this much isn't gonna help" He responded with "when you get nails this long it's easy for them to break" ok. Anyways, 2 days later another broke off and I just decided to take them off. When I tell you it was the easiest to remove them all I'm not joking. And on top of that he didn't have a cosmetologist license displayed anywhere in sight. They're shitty. Always are. Be careful because I feel like they give the laziest customer service. I don't frequent any specific nail salon, but I long to find a place where I can become a "regular". Sadly, this is not the place, though by the number of people waiting when I got there you would think otherwise. When I walked in, I was greeted and asked what I would like which is a plus, but that's probably the only positive thing. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure. First the actual polish for my manicure doesn't look horrible, it's not the worst I've ever had, but my cuticles still look horrible and I got nicked a couple times by the gentleman doing my nails and even bled. When my nails were filed down, they weren't done smoothly so when I scratch myself I can feel the unevenness of my nails. The woman that did my pedicure seemed like she was doing fine, but as she finished polishing my nails she proceeded to immediately put my sandals on my feet and when I looked down, the polish on my big toe got messed up. I don't understand why she felt the need to put my sandals on right away and even risk ruining the polish. I also noticed that she cut my big toe nail on the other foot crooked, one side is definitely shorter than the other. Looks like the hunt for a great nail place continues! read more

I've usually had a good experience here. Been coming for years and no problem. Until recently when I went in to get a fill for my nails. Nails were great and the employee did a good job. Until it was time for me to pay. I paid and left. Later on I realized that they charged me twice for my fill earlier that day. I decided to go in the next morning and get my money back since the did charge me twice. I had taken my bank statement and receipt to show as proof that they did in fact charge me twice and I wanted my money refunded. Get there as soon as they open and right away I was told not to worry about it that I'd be refunded. But that I needed to return at 11 because only the boss would be able to refund me. I left and came back at 11:30 and their boss was no where to be found. They told me to not worry again and to leave my phone number so that they could call me. Hours passed and they finally called me around 4 to come in and I'd get refunded. Brought all my proof and when I get there. They suddenly couldn't find their copy of receipt saying I had been there the day before. I showed them my bank statement and receipt. They made me wait half and hour before they updated me. When they did they refused to give me my refund. That they were certain they only charged me twice even though I had evidence saying otherwise. That I should wait until the end of the week and my money might reappear. But, I will be back to get my refund. I suggest double checking your account after leaving this place. You never know. They might just steal your money if you don't pay attention. read more

This 5-star rating is for Kym. I've been going to her exclusively for hair cuts and color for a number of years. I've lived in Newport Beach for over 30 years and never found anyone who could do a great job on my hair until I found Kym. I never in a million years expected anyone of Kym's caliber to be somewhere in Costa Mesa. She is the quintessential professional who knows her craft better than anyone I could find in all of Newport Beach and LA. She is a perfectionist and works quickly. Her sense of color is second to none. I cannot speak to the other services though I have my nails done many times while there, but the service is uneven. I continue to get my nails done but am never astonished at the finished product. On the other hand, every time, without fail, when Kym either cuts and/or colors my hair, I am absolutely astounded with the results. She is the most talented, measured and creative person I've every had the pleasure to know. I just recommended her today to two very good friends and know that I will have no worries about how she will respond to their needs.
