This place maybe a little better than a 3 but the metal chairs were put together improperly, I think, and were just wicked uncomfortable to sit in. The food was average and nothing special. It was not bad by any means but just nothing to write home about. They touted their Texas cheese steak which wasn't half had but I didn't like the bread not being warm and the lack of meat was disappointing. You label something Texas, I expect it to be portioned so. Their mushroom burger was delicious though and prices weren't half had. Service was 5 stars for sure. Checked out the place for Saturday lunch. Not too bad. We will probably go back. We had the pimento burger and barumundi fish. I wish the skin on the fish had been crispy bit it wasn't so I pulled it off. Also wish I couldn't see down the hallway into the storage and soda syrup dispensers. Not very appetizing. Based on their logo and name thought it would be more upscale. It seemed sterile with white walls and metal chairs. The artwork from a local high school was very cool. Need to expanded to other schools to show a sense of community. 3 of the 4 of us in our party had burgers. They were ok. The patty's weren't very big and flavorful. Both regular and sweet potato fries were good. My husband had the chicken fried steak and LOVED IT!! From the house salad to the mash potatoes, everything was flavorful. Our waitress seemed preoccupied and indifferent. She wasn't very engaging which set the tone for our experience. Could definitely use black out shades on the windows. Setting sun was distracting. Would we go back? Maybe......won't be our first choice with so many new restaurants opening up in McKinney. A lot of competition and gotta see who sets themselves apart. read more

Some friends rescued me from the mounting stacks of homework and things to grade I had going on yesterday and decided since I was without kids (I sold them) that trying out the new bar up the street was in order. Ok...that's a lie. I totally forced them to take me to anyplace that had "socially acceptable Sunday booze drinking" vibes. On my corner in McKinney, it's as if Warren Buffet, Marcus Lemonius and Jon Taffer got together and took a crap. STORES ARE GOING UP EVERYWHERE. Not just stores - 380/Hardin is set to have 28 STORES OPEN IN THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS, and that's not including the Costco on one corner and the huge Cinemark Tinseltown on the other. So new bars were bound to pop up too. Eleven 17, or 11/17 according to signage (well which is it guys?) is just down 380 at the entrance of Stonebridge Ranch, where the men like golf and are scared of taquerias taking over the world and the women like their salads with an extra dollop of Xanax and Botox ON THE SIDE. So it comes as no shock that 11/17 has competition in the same building as them. Exactly two doors down E.J. Wills Gastropub opened its doors two weeks ago and both establishments serve burgers, booze, and upscale Botox Basic Biatches of Stonebridge. There are differences: Wills has a much bigger menu, better vibe overall but 11/17 is two and three bucks cheaper on the wallet and you have a better shot of actually getting served there. We sat at the bar and for a Sunday it wasn't that busy, mostly because the church crowd had yet to swarm. 11/17 is straight up bar food, and don't let any of these reviews or pics fool you: If you come here, you'll want to get a fried thing because (and God...trust Terri sweetie) otherwise you'll regret it. Out of the four of us, we sampled wings, fried green 'maters, salad, a Philly cheesesteak and a salmon dish. That salmon was a no go. I mean it. I blame my friend for ordering fish at a bar. There are just some things you don't do, like wear CK One deer hunting. My fried green tomatoes were really good. I kept saying "These taste just like Cotton Patch!" Cotton Patch's are 4.99 though compared to 7.99 here. That was the thing. This place was just ok in that it didn't reinvent the wheel, it just copied some Firestones. The wings were fine. They tasted like the wings you'd get at Chili's on the sampler. The salad was blah. The cheesesteak was like a really great version of a Steak Ummm with Rico cheese on it, and that ain't bad. The tots are the ones we all buy at Wal-Mart and man, I seriously got to go get my great value on now because I loved them. We all died laughing because my smart a$$ friend asked the young guy who was our server/bartender about the tots and he said they were "made from scratch". I have zero doubt someone had to go to the frozen potato section of Wally World, get them, bring them back, fry them sand plate them so I guess that's made from scratch in his book. Millennials. Speaking of drinks...don't expect anything out of the ordinary. They have the usual Don Draper Carrie Bradshaw crapfest. Old Fashioneds, Cosmos, Manhattans, Mules...nothing signature. I won't ding them for it because I get that's what the crowd wants, but it hurts my heart to see drink menus with no identity. At least they had a tall boy PBR for $4. My friends all got different drinks and one was too strong (cosmo) and the other two were too weak. Our bartender was very young but super nice and busted his butt. When we asked for honey mustard (my friend wanted it for her salad) he said he forgot which mustard she needed on the way back and he brought us like three types of mustard lol. Great kid. While the atmosphere in the bar was ok, the dining area looked like an IKEA. Super sparse and very minimal, it doesn't invite you in. I think 11/17 has potential. These are early days and I think it needs to date around before committing. I'll be back, but I'm going to expect a commitment then. read more

Good: Large portions, attentive staff, family owned Bad: Food was not impressive, limited drink choices Overall: This place has potential, its just not for me I visited this place for lunch and ordered a hamburger. I was seated quickly and throughout my visit I had at least 3 different people check on me. The hamburger was lack luster because it has a very thin hamburger patty and very think bread. The result was that I could not taste the hamburger at all. Ultimately, I ate the meat by itself which was very good. The fries are made with a crunchy texture on the outside that I am not a fan of. I've never heard anyone say they liked that option, but I cannot recall asking either. I tried to get a diet coke, but they only had coke zero. I then tried to get an unsweet tea with Splena or Equal, but they only had sugar, a Sweet'N Low and Stevie alternative. I've seen some pictures of the food they offer and feel confident that I may have enjoyed a different option better. The lack of a drink I could enjoy makes it unlikely that I will return, but I would encourage others to try this location. I feel that it is important to support small business owners. read more

Saw the restaurant a couple of weeks ago and decided to try it...LOVED it! My wife had the taco salad and I had the Southwestern salad. Both were terrific. Crispy, cool salad and perfectly seasoned ground beef for the taco salad and succulent chicken for the Southwestern salad ( the avocado ranch drizzle was heavenly). The tea was sweetened by the gods...not too sweet, just right. Our server, Carrie was a gem! Great atmosphere inside and outside patio was spacious and breezy. I have been to this establishment a couple times post COVID and have always been somewhat pleased with the service and the food until yesterday. As we entered the establishment we were greeted and seated immediately despite the blanket of heat in the building. We were a party of 3 with one late arrival. We communicated concerns for the heat twice and an adjustment was made on the second time. We had a very pleasant server named Zita or Zeeda who took our orders for drinks of 1 water with lemon, 1 plain water, and a sprite. 10 minutes later the late arrival who ordered a coke made it. Zeeda asked if we wanted appetizers and we decided on the Loaded Queso and Salsa. It arrives to the table lukewarm shortly afterwards. We decided to send it back because it was cold and replace with the Mozzarella Sticks. The cheese sticks comes out shortly and tasted of old bacon and fried chicken. Not the best but tolerable, we decided to leave well enough alone and didn't send them back. The server took our orders as follows: Philly steak and cheese without onions/bell peppers with steamed broccoli, fried shrimp with fries and a house salad with blue cheese dressing, and fried shrimp with green bean and a house salad with ranch. The food comes out shortly. The same issue comes to table with the shrimp overcooked tasting like old bacon and fried chicken. I decided to eat mine and my friend enjoyed the cheesesteak however my friend that also ordered shrimp decided that she could not stomach the after taste. The server checks in with us and my friend tells her that she is not pleased. Zita/Zeeda asks her if she would like something else and she responds no ma'am. The server grabs the manager and owner to address our concerns. The owner assures her nothing has changed and that the cooking oil is changed daily. My friend says ok and the team leaves to bring us the cheques. It is at this times things start to go left. The other friend ordered a drink from the bar, while we are waiting the bartender proceeds to bring the drink, place it down hard on our table, and tell my friend who ordered the drink that every time she come to the establishment she brings people and does nothing but complain and abruptly leaves returning to the bar. That the next time she comes and complains she will be banned. So me and my friends are surprised and perplexed by his outburst. We immediately grab the server who grabs the manager who grabs the owner. The owner gives us the cheques and attempts to leave without addressing our concerns when I stop her to address. Our discussion consists of her saying that the bartender came in to help on his day off and is having a bad day. She implies that we are trying to get out of paying for the food. She does not address that the bartender was outline nor welcome feedback that the food simply sucked. If you want to be treated less than with aggressive staff telling you off about their inconsistent food because they are having a bad day on their day off where they volunteered to come to work, I highly recommend 11/17. If you desire a different atmosphere please go to your to the local BJ's, Chili's, or Cheddar's. read more

Second night soft opening! Food was fresh and served promptly. Our waiter. Ronnie, was friendly and helpful. Menu has plenty of choices to chose from. We had pimento cheese/chicken salad appetizer plate followed by blue cheese wedge salad. For my mi e dish I had the Monterey chicken breast with mashed potatoes. The wine list is pretty good and they have specialty cocktails that are priced at $9. They have a patio and lunch menu. The owners are friendly. Well our 3rd try here. First time was good. We both had the pot roast and it was good like my mom used to make. 2nd time was a disappointment so we thought we would try again. Grilled chicken sandwich and Cajun grilled chicken sandwich were beyond disappointing. The chicken had a weird texture and my girlfriend and daughter had to force themselves to eat half. I had chicken fried steak. Gravy and mashed potatoes were good. Breading was good. Steak was tough as nails. I hate leaving a poor review but this place needs to get better control of their quality. I should have know there was an issue when it was noon on Sunday and lots of open seating available. Everyone else has figured out what took me three times. The quality of the food here is cafeteria at best. I was excited to try this place because of the chic exterior and location. Walking in the decor was nice enough. The menu shocked me. Nothing stuck out to me in particular--traditional burgers and sandwiches. The menu itself was shockingly mediocre and didn't match the decor at all. The pot roast was bland, the mashed potatoes were bland, and the dessert pudding was clearly instant. The service left something to be desired. They didn't ever clear plates. After reading a few reviews I decided to try Eleven 17 for lunch. The hostess had a huge smile on her face and very welcoming. We were seated quickly on the patio but moved into the bar because of the wind. We ordered The Gimlet and a Pineapple Martini from their cocktail menu. I had read in a group thread that it was sweet, so I asked the bartender to make it more classic with a hint of pineapple and it was absolutely perfect. Both drinks were refreshing which be excellent out on the patio during the summer. Food wise, we started with the fried green tomatoes. They were fried to perfection, you could taste the freshness in the tomatoes and the breading had a nice peppery kick but not over powering. Being a meatloaf connoisseur I was hesitant to order it for fear of disappointment; however, I was pleasantly surprised. The meatloaf had plenty of bell pepper and onions with each bite. It was tender and juicy with the perfect amount of tomato paste on top. The asparagus and mashed potatoes with brown gravy with toast were the perfect compliment. My only complaint was that I wanted a bigger piece of meatloaf! Overall, we had an excellent experience at Eleven 17 and look forward to many meals there in the future. read more

I gave this place another shot, and I'm so glad that I did. We went there this afternoon for lunch. Seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. There were a lot of good options on their menu, but I was in the mood for chicken tenders. These were some of the best chicken tenders I have had. Comes with white gravy which is also tasty. I also got the corn on the cob and the mashed potatoes. The corn on the cob was flavored delightfully, and the mashed potatoes were pretty good. We also split a bottle of pinot grigio. The wine prices were actually reasonable, and there are a few really nice deals on bottles. They also have a cute patio area. We would have sat out there if it wasn't so hot. We will be back to check it out when it isn't hot. I am glad we came back and gave it another chance. Really changed my mind on this place. They have worked out their kinks, so I'll definitely come back again. Also, the owner reached out to me after my first review, and she was understanding and nice. We ordered take out from 11/17 our first night in our house. It is pretty pricey, but the food is great. We wound up going there a couple months back and had wonderful service, and once again the food was great. I always recommend it when people ask for places to eat. read more

Came here tonight and was seated outside. They have an amazing patio area--request to go out there even if nobody else is there yet, it'll fill up when people know it's an option. Waitress and hostess were so sweet and attentive, perhaps the best staff in Mckinney that we've tried so far in the last 2 years since moving here. The menu is familiar but food is executed with care and precision, so much so that it is elevated. The batter was okay but most of it fell off the steak itself. The mashed potatoes felt like they were mass produced heat up mashed potatoes or the powdered flakes you get in a box. Not really made fresh. The broccoli was okay kind of hard to mess up steamed vegetables. The meal came with toast and this was the worst part of the meal. The toast was awful. It was bland and cold. Like it didn't even taste like bread. I think I found a hair in my plate but I looked a second time and it was gone. So can't 100% say it was there. Wow!! The food was GREAT but I'm blown away by the service. Seth was our waiter, but everyone pitched in to make sure all needs were taken care of. Order the hamburger steak--trust me on this! The large party (15/17 people) is being taken care of just as well as our party of three which, as a waiter in days gone by, is impressive to me.
