Coffee and pastry at 11th Street Cafe
    Bruce K.

The aptly named 11th Street Cafe was my Sunday morning stop and was a great spot for morning coffee and a pastry. This place is adorable and cute and they make a passable cortado. They also have a free wifi so I spent about two hours here writing Yelp reviews and thinking about when I would head back over to New Jersey and catch the train back to the van. The place is extremely small but has some small two-seater tables and some sidewalk seating. The inside is also slightly smaller standing room as a refrigerated unit takes up some space so you have to dance around to move between people while waiting for order. There is no longer a big chalk menu on the walls and rather a smaller menu available on the counter where people are fixing their coffee to their liking. However, the staff is extremely nice and willing to help or give suggestions. The fresh squeeze OJ I got was sour and not as flavorful as fresh squeezed usually is. The caramel latte I got was really good and made very fast. May return if in area in future

    Almond croissant

Young male cashier on 7/9/2024 at 11:35 am this morning didn't even bother to put my "microwaved" almond croissant that I asked to be toasted into a paper desert sleeve. He just dumped it into the bag exactly as pictured. I'm not sure if he was upset with me. I was as polite as possible plus I tipped on my croissant order. How lazy could you be?? This is unacceptable!!

I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in just before my hair appointment. It was a hole in the wall kind of tiny cute coffee shop but the latte was great & the almond croissant was fresh & tasty. What a perfect place for a quick bite in the West Village in this cold winter day!

Ordered takeout and had a good experience. Salmon bagel special and pressed wrap sandwich with sausage and avocado were both tasty, and the employee who helped me out was friendly.

    Buttermilk Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich

A small cafe located on 11th street in the West Village. The cafe had a small inviting atmosphere and smelt of fresh pastries. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on a buttermilk biscuit with bacon. The bacon was cooked nicely and the cheese was melted over delicious eggs. My only complaint would be that the biscuit was a tad dry. I tried the sausage egg and cheese on a croissant and it was perfect. I will be back and ordering that next time!

Granola fruit bowl..$11, cheaps out on fruit. I didn't even order this, they made the wrong thing and insisted this is what I asked for.

DON'T COME HERE. There's better places in the area Don't be fooled by the ambience and upbeat music of this place. Their service is terrible and they take THE LONGEST time to make simple breakfast bowls. There isn't many people here and we did not have orders in front of us so I seriously don't understand the hold up. Do not come here if you want something quick. Originally got their breakfast and granola bowls to stay but changed it take-away because they're slow. Even worse, they gave made the wrong order an insisted that this is what I ordered... and the employee gave me the worst attitude when I said it wasn't. And argued back that I ordered something else..which doesn't even make sense because it wasn't on the menu. She gave me a cheaper version of what I ordered. This is ridiculous. Never coming back.

A chill spot in the neighborhood. The setting do the cafe was great and the staff was very friendly. Got a fruit cup and a green tea latte. The quality was pretty good : fruits were fresh, and the strawberries inside were actually sweet - not that common. The matcha latte got skim milk option and the taste was a little bland to me. A nice little spot overall.

Pickled veggies, fresh falafel, the works. The waffle was also delicious and it had an addicting maple-butterscotch sauce that kept us coming back (I wish I ordered one just for myself it was that good). Can't wait to come back, Banter Brunch days will definitely be a part of my routine.

The dining room was extremely hot, and there didn't appear to be any air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable throughout the meal. The food also took quite a while to arrive. I ordered a tequila mule, but it was lacking flavor and was underwhelming. For my entrée, I ordered the steak medium well, but it came out medium rare. Despite being undercooked, the steak was surprisingly tough and chewy, and it did not seem like a quality cut of meat considering the price. The waiter was friendly and provided good service, which was the highlight of the visit. However, due to the uncomfortable atmosphere, slow food service, disappointing drink, and poor-quality steak, I would not recommend dining here.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water.
