Rotisserie Chicken Salad Sandwich
Ashley J.

This sandwich was mediocre, it was half of a rotisserie chicken salad sandwich. It came out to be $6. It wasn't worth it because it was so small. The workers are really friendly and the service is fast. There's a lot of seating which was nice, it's definitely a place to unwind and get a quick bite.

A bit pricey but very pleasant place to have coffee, a pastry or a light meal. Good fresh coffee. Pastries are made elsewhere but the other food is made fresh on sight.

I was treated to coffee here today. I had an iced coffee with almond milk and light ice. I believe it was a cold brew and it was delicious! Very flavorful brew, smooth with a pleasant aftertaste and mildly sweet with only a little almond milk. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant environment was busy but pleasant.

Oatmeal with fruit

The best oatmeal in the city! There's something about this oatmeal to go that was so good! Who knew healthy could taste like this? I recommend Smile To Go for fresh, hot food!

The newest location just opened in the Freehand Hotel, officially making this one of the best hotels in NYC for food, joining Simon & The Whale, Studio and Broken Shaker. They have those same excellent cookies and pastries as at other locations, plus lots of great breakfast and lunch options. Definitely try the Black Seed Bagels Bacon, Egg & Cheese ($7) and the Moroccan Pancakes ($9).

Decent for a quick to go coffee or food. It is a little over priced for what you get but I do think the quality of ingredients are there.

Roasted chicken w/cranberry & arugula on ciabatta

I guess one of the most major deterrents would be the price(broke college student #yolo), but I agree that the food is way overpriced. I enjoyed my sandwiches from Smile to Go on two separate occasions. The first time I came here, it was just opened. A lot of things I wanted to try from the sandwich menu was unavailable, until I settled for a Manouri Cheese & Pear Sandwich, which was light and filling. On another occasion, I found that STG is on the Ritual app so I decided to get a Rotisserie Chicken Salad Sandwich. It was light and filling as well, but the ciabatta was tough to chew. Overall, I found both sandwiches to be tasty, very flavorful, and satisfying.

Market Plate with beets, quinoa, and carrots

To everyone saying Smile to Go is expensive... where have you been buying your market plates?? Please tell me, because I always thought 3 big servings of veggie sides was very reasonably priced, but maybe I am living in a luxury vegetable bubble. This location is much bigger than their original outpost on Howard St, but lacks the same charm. That said, the food quality is up to par -- I looove all their market sides, as well as the rice krispie, the bone broth, and the pear/manouri cheese sandwich (the sandwiches, however, I do agree are overpriced). I don't even think it's really fair to compare Smile to Go to Dig Inn -- Smile has more inventive flavors, updates their menu more often, and I feel also gives larger servings of veggies. I've also ordered from them on Seamless, but do find that the serving sizes tend to be a bit bigger if you order in person.

The Freehand Hotel is filling up with all kinds of cool stuff, and this grab and go addition is perfect for a quick, relatively healthy lunch if you don't have time to sit and dine at Studio. I went with the rotisserie chicken with one side, and while at $15 it was pretty pricey for lunch, the portion was HUGE. I'm talking a half chicken, nicely roasted, with an enormous pile of their roasted eggplant. The ordering was a little confusing because I asked the lady if I could just get the chicken with one side, and she said yes, but she really just meant that they would double the portion of my one selection, and still charge me for the same amount as if I ordered two. So not exactly what I was going for, but it was a tasty lunch and easily enough for two light eaters. They also have sandwich selections (I like that you can order a 1/2 size), as well as little snacks and baked goods that use unique ingredients... I know I'll have a hard time resisting those in the future. The line moves quickly and there's some seats if you want to stay for your meal, though it seems like most people take it to go. Fast, easy, fresh, and interesting - a great combo for lunch in my opinion!

Roast Rotisserie Chicken with watermelon salad and pasta

We came here just to get a quick bite because we hadn't eaten all day and this place looked really cute with its outdoor seating. We tried ordering the lamb meatballs but they didn't have it unfortunately, so we decided to order the rotisserie chicken with the watermelon salad and the basil pesto pasta. It was pretty tasty, the chicken was a little under seasoned for my taste, but still a good meal. The aesthetic was really top notch though and the service was nice and the gentleman behind the counter was very informative. Even if you don't want a huge meal, you can come here for a nice drink and one of their baked goods and sit in the shade and enjoy the sounds of the city!

Their cup o' joe is flavorful and a complex, a refreshing alternative to NYC to-go coffee.

I had the grassiest matcha (fuku no midori) prepared with just water, and it was the most refreshing drink I could've asked for during this unbearably hot summer. I came back a few more times in the same week to sample more of their menu. Surprisingly, my least favorite was the strawberry matcha latte. I think the fruit obscures the subtle flavors in the matcha and I recommend getting a plain matcha or a matcha latte instead. The shop itself is very tiny - almost standing room only - with 2 barstools by the window. Each drink is made to order and it seemed like there was only one, maybe two people preparing drinks, so if there's a large group then the drinks will take some time to come out.

I'd actually passed by this place multiple times but had no idea it was a cafe. This shop itself is more of a grab-and-go, but it might still take a while since all drinks are whisked and made to order. There isn't really space for a line to form inside, so you may need to wait outside to order (there's also a bit of a lack of room to wait for your drink once it's ordered). My strawberry matcha came out to $9.25 total, which is pretty pricey, so I expected a lot. In total, it took me around 10-ish minutes to get my drink with about 4 people in front of me. At first it took a while for our orders to get taken since the two employees were focused on getting drinks out ASAP, one person was preparing the syrups and milk, and the other was making the matcha. The matcha itself had a nice green color. I've had many strawberry matchas prior to this, and based on my experience, this place was alright. The strawberry syrup was nice and not too sweet, but I wish there was a bit more flavoring or more of it, as after two sips I couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Overall, it's a nice shop with cute trinkets around and their own products they sell, like matchas and tea sets. However, for $9, it was a lot for what the drink offered in my opinion.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
