My colleagues and I stopped by here in June for breakfast before we flew back from our work trip. I found 1228 on Yelp as one of the top places for brunch in the Arts District. It was already so hot even though we went around 9-10am. Food, drinks, and pastries were all so good! Even my chat GPT recommended this place and few items from their menu! Staff was super attentive and nice and everything was so good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the decor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and if I live in the area I would've loved to come back at night for the bar section. Highly recommend!
Stopped in for coffee and a loaf of Sourdough to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful dining room when you walk in, about 14 tables and 3 booths that probably seat about 4 people. Lots of seating at the bar area, and a large window table that seats about 6 people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was not loud at all for a Sunday morning, around 10:30 am.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coffee is superb, sourdough loaf was soft and delicious. Lots of pastries and breads to choose from. Friendly staff and service. Food coming out on large plates and platters looked really good and the constant aroma of everything being cooked or brewed, just mouthwatering. I will definitely be back to try the breakfast and lunch menu. What a gem in the heart of downtown Vegas.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a great spot that my friends and I enjoyed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We arrived at 9:30am and easily got a table for 4. We were so enraptured in our conversation, we took forever ordering from the menu but the waiters were kind and patient. I got a cappuccino, the crème brûlée croissant, and the Main Street special (eggs, toast, bacon, and potatoes). The croissant was so good and the bacon was utter perfection. Everyone enjoyed the meals and my friend was raving about the matcha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is also very pretty and the bathrooms were clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can also order at the counter and take your things to go. They had tables outside too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I look forward to a future visit.
What a cute little gem downtown. Great location if you are checking out all the vintage and antique shops. The parking is a little challenging so give yourself time before your reservation. The service was remarkable. Our guy was very attentive and helpful the entire time. Before I left I ordered a coffee, he saw I took the lid off to cool it down and without asking he brought me a cup of ice to help. He was very thoughtful and pleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was loud but it's cute and simple inside and with the outside light coming in made it nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a nice bar separated by a wall from the dining area. It is welcoming and nicely lit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the Reuben sandwich. The bread was dripping in butter but had a great flavor and was still crunchy. The pastrami, slaw and Russian dressing combo was really delicious and I'd recommend. The fries were good, I would maybe have cooked them 1 minute longer but I like mine more crunchy. My husband had the brunch burger with bacon and egg and he really liked it but would suggest to add another patty if you're hungry. My fil had the Smash double patty burger and he said it was really good. The buns were soft and tasted fresh and the meat was well flavored. They have a super cute pastry bar that looks amazing but I was too full to try anything but we will go back again soon.
First time trying this place. I got the pastrami Ruben on sourdough instead of multi grain. The sandwich was delicious! But word of warning it's really messy! It has Cole slaw with Russian dressing instead of sauerkraut. But it tastes very good. The dressing makes it messy though. But it was worth it. The fries are crispy despite being on the fat side. The sandwich is not large but it was filling and I couldn't eat all the fries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a bar on one side of the restaurant and a dozen or so tables. On this Friday for lunch about 1/2 the tables were open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is very good and I got my food pretty quick and he checked back often. So much quality & local spots in this part of town! Love 1228 Main for a good spot to enjoy a meal or a good spot to grab pastries! We need more of this kind of combo in the "suburbs " of Vegas! Come out to us please! We enjoyed our meal, dessert and takeaway goodies! Very nice and clean restaurant and service was also wonderful! Thank you!
Hubby brought me here on a surprise impromptu date night, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was very pleased with my meal at 1228 Main. There are some issues, but this restaurant does a lot really well. The menu is very limited, and there are little to no vegetarian / vegan options. This really shocked me, especially for a restaurant in the Arts District. I'm unsure if the chef would be willing to accommodate, but it seemed like the type of place that you'd be told "no" if you wanted to modify something to be meatless. Minus a star for limited veggie options. Another thing I didn't like was the overall atmosphere. It's a working bakery and kitchen, which means there was a never-ending clatter from the kitchen as well as the distracting smell of bread baking. Both kitchens were also producing a lot of heat, and the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. I was not cool and relaxed, and they are in desperate need of better air conditioning. I cannot imaging how horrid the summer months must get, and I will be sure to avoid dining here during that time. I also found the service to be lacking. It wasn't unprofessional, but I would call it inattentive. For a nicer, chef-driven restaurant, I expect far, far better service. My water glass shouldn't be empty, and I would appreciate a server at least checking in on my within 5 minutes after my meal is served. Our waiter dropped our food and never returned, leading to us having to repeatedly try to flag down anyone to bring us water since we were desperate for a drink! Now on to the good! The food was so fresh and tasty. While the menu didn't offer detailed enough descriptions, I was happy with what I ordered. We shared a shrimp appetizer that was beautifully fried and presented, and the portion was large (actually, I'd say it was too large) for two people. I'd only order this again if we had one or more friends with us. The shrimp quality was exceptional, and the flavors were on point. Next up was the bread service with butter. Get this. It features whatever fresh breads they've made recently, and it was so good. I actually wish this was larger, I needed more bread slices! Our server gladly brought us extra butter for no additional charge, which I appreciated. For our entrees, hubby got the steak and I got the shrimp pasta. He said the steak was good, but not great. My dish was excellent. I loved the fresh flavors and the sweet peas added so much to the buttery sauce. We both had leftovers and agreed that the dishes reheated so well that they tasted almost as good as they did the night before! I was pleased with how reasonably priced the wine list was! I got a quality glass of sparkling wine for $14, and he got a special pickle juice cocktail for under $20. The cocktail was laughably small, but they didn't skimp on liquor or flavors. The wine list and cocktail list are incredibly well curated. The dining room was surprisingly empty at 6:30 on a Saturday night. It was very easy to secure a reservation at the last minute. I hope that's not forecasting a bad time ahead for this restaurant. Eventually a few tables started to fill in, but it was far from packed on a weekend night. Despite a few bumps in the road, I will recommend 1228 Main and will be sure to return. I don't think it's destined to be a personal favorite of mine, but I will add it to our local dining rotation.
Enjoyed some breakfast down here in the Arts District! I had the Quiche and my mother had the 2-egg breakfast! This is definitely one of my favorite quiches I have had. Nice and crispy top, flakey crust and soft creamy inside! The service was great, and very attentive. Nice early morning crowd, but seated immediately.
1228 wow! I am a repeat customer and you can find me at the bar with an espresso martini in hand. Last year my favorite brunch item was discontinued and that was the egg salad sandwich. I know that sounds like a boring option, but let me tell you! I miss it everyday. I do enjoy their burger and croissant sandwich. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cute spot where you can see the pastries being made and prepped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar area is a great place to chit-chat with whoever you're with![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is also a solid brunch choice. At the end of your meal, ask for the cookie of the day and get it warmed!
1228 is amazing!!! I visited 3 times for weekend brunch before I wrote this review and it has been consistent all along! Located in the Arts district - 1228 Main provides Las Vegas locals with top quality foods, great menu selection and artisan pastry and bread chefs, and all that in local setting! Prices are also appropriate! First time I got here, I was skeptical about the bakery in the Arts district, but after trying their donuts, breads, quiches - I was blown away! Every weekend I came here there was a different special item they were pushing - yet it was always good. Even matcha filled donuts (I am no matcha lover) were awesome!!! Of note, I would say breakfast burrito is fabulous, quiche is good and I really liked corned beef hash with eggs! Service is good. Consistently good. To be honest we felt our server first and second time might have been nice to us, so the third time we had a different server and it was still great! Ambiance resembles open space with dark wood tones contrasted with white open kitchen! Very clean and immaculate! Street parking was not the problem for weekend brunch!!!
I can't believe it's taken me this long to check out this spot. What a cute place!! Came here with my sister in law, mother in law, and our friend. We stopped in for some lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't terribly busy. We were seated right away. I love that there is a dining room area as well as a separate bar area. They also do have a few seats outside for patio dining as well. But the ambiance inside is spectacular. To drink, three of us ordered the Hands Down cocktail. It sounded super refreshing. I did want to try the Dirty Anna, but I'll try that next time. The Hands Down cocktail was hands down the most delicious!!! I know that's cheesy, but I don't care. It was everything I wanted. Super refreshing. The glass it was served in was also so dang cute. For lunch, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. I've been on a fried chicken sandwich kick lately, so I was glad I ordered this. It was soooo good! The slaw had a nice kick to it and the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was hard not to devour the entire thing. We ended up coming back in here later to grab a shot and had them make the Hands Down into a shot and it was delicious. Our server even stopped by at the bar to say hi to us again haha. Love the service here and again, food is phenomenal! I'll definitely be back.

I went here with my friends and was a bit disappointed. First off as a gluten free person I think it's a bit silly to write that on your menu if you're not going to provide alternatives (for example they don't have a gluten free bread, which is lame when you have a majority of sandwiches on the brunch menu) The most they said was "we can omit ingredients" but for this kind of money I don't want to pay full price for ingredients being taken out. That rant done... I asked my friends how was the food considering and they were satisfied. One didn't like the way her egg was too runny and the other said his dirty chai didn't taste anything like chai. But that was it so overall I think the experience for them was good. I took away stars for the gluten free problem and we didn't find our waitress friendly. We were a quirky group but she wasn't very patient. Overall I personally won't go again unless I want to eat an expensive salad. read more

I have had this place bookmarked for a while and was excited to check it out. We had family in town and decided to brunch here. It was really easy to make reservations online. They were out of a few dishes by the time we got there but the ones we ordered were fresh and delicious. Our table shared the strawberry and cream danish, a must!!!! They have cocktails and bottomless mimosas but didn't appear to have a full bar to make drinks off the menu. Plenty of street parking and fairly priced dishes. This place can cater to large parties! read more

This is such a fun discovery! Wolfgang Puck has relocated his bakery to the heart of downtown where you'll find delicious, baked bread using his own unique starter, awesome pastries, and tasty bites. I've been here 3 times now, only for breakfast and lunch thus far. Service is excellent! And ambiance is warm and inviting. I've tried their lemon cake, lemon cruffin (my fav!), and savory dishes as well including shakshuka. Looking forward to returning for my sourdough fix! read more
YUM! So much yum! We walked in at 10:30am-ish on a dreary Sunday morning without a rez. Thankfully, it was not busy (probably because of the cold/damp weather). We were greeted and seated immediately. We were quickly offered still or bubbly water. Our server took our drink orders first since we knew what we wanted there ... Bloody Marys for both.... and then said we'd need a few minutes to figure out what we wanted to eat for brunch. So much to choose from! I went with the Shakshuka and a side of green chile hash browns and the hubs went with the Corned Beef Hash. All of it was scrumptious. Our server even brought us more green chiles for the hash browns since she saw that there were just a few on top. I thought the green chiles would be mixed into the hash browns but they are not. Still... Very Tasty and went great with the Shakshuka. Shakshuka was savory and served Lava hot (the temperature not the spice level.) The grilled bread that was served with it was perfection... perfect grilled sourdough. I had to resist the urge to order more.... and just ate my other carb I ordered... the hash browns. The hubs really like his Corned Beef Hash. To be honest, I'm not much of a Corned Beef Hash fan... but I was quite surprised how tender and flavorful their corned beef was when I took a bite. So... maybe I've just not been eating CB at the right places. Clearly these folks know how to do it right. Because there was no way I was leaving this place without yet more carbs.... we ordered 1/2 a sourdough load and 2 Cruffins (a lemon one and a PB&J one). ALL were fantastic. It's a good thing 1228 Main is not nearby as I'd be here all the time getting fatter on their baked delights. We will definitely be back for Brunch! I saw their Dinner Menu and want to try several dishes there too. We don't get down to this area often so maybe we'll have to now that 1228 Main is here. Note... Parking ..... on the street... just cruise around until you find a spot. There are parking lots, but we got lucky and found a spot on the street nearby. You do have to pay for parking... $2 an hour via a parking fee machine... you have to enter your license plate and a credit/debit card. So... if you don't have your license plate memorized... just take a pic before you go to the machine. read more

Spectacular spot downtown for all things - delicious breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner! All freshly made cakes, pastries, amazing pasta dishes, and vegan options available (even omnivores could enjoy)! Service was five stars alone! A cozy and romantic atmosphere. The old fashioned was well made, vegan bolognese had a spice kick that I loved and was a hearty dish filled with mushrooms, and my daughter's burger was a foodie's upgraded experience to the Big Mac. This place is a great option for any occasion but my preferred time is brunch. Not only do they have bottomless mimosas and draft beers as options but their food is delicious, with a very ample variety of choices. From the shakshouka to their salads or the grilled cheese sandwich, you really can't go wrong with your choice. They also have a pastry bar and you can even take some bread home with you. Portions are definitely shareable. The bar is a great place to have a casual meet up and their team is super attentive and kind. Really creative menu and a great bakery from what I hear - & I can attest because the flaky puff pastry shell of the Truffle Chicken Pot Pie was stunning!!!! I heard good things about 1228 and decided to try the Brunch on Saturday. The food and service was spot on. The place was pretty busy around 11:30 but we were immediately seated in a comfortable booth near the kitchen. Being busy and with a lot of talking it makes conversation a little challenging. Our server Amber was friendly and helpful with the menu. She also shared with us some of the items on the dinner menu. The service was prompt. Amber checked on our satisfaction and empty plates were promptly removed. For the two of us we ordered the Tunisian Shakshuka and the Potato Latke. I was not familiar with the Shakshuka so Amber provided a description and it sounded good enough to try. It was delicious. Served in a very hot bowl, the dish contains two eggs, I requested over easy, spiced red pepper stew, cilantro with toasted sourdough on the side. The dish had a little heat, just the right amount for me. I would definitely order it again. The Potato Latke, two patties were crisp, great flavor with the perfect amount of garlic. We will be back to experience the dinner menu. read more

The best breakfast and brunch spot downtown, if not all in vegas. Incredible pastries, coffee, food, and service. I have tried almost all of their brunch menu and have never had one thing that is even the slightest bit mediocre. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't get the Swiss bread danish or the basque cheesecake. read more
I have lived in Vegas for several years and have driven or walked by this place several times. It was never mentioned or busy so I forgot about it. My two friends came to visit Vegas and were in the Arts District so they went to find food and the place they went to was closed so they just picked 1228 Main. I met them there and they had already had issues and were still waiting for their meals after waiting an hour. My pet peeve is when a meal is beyond late and there is an empty restaurant. They aren't busy so what's the issue?? Ugh. I just ordered some bread which was supposed to be a variety of diff types of breads but the waiter said they have only one kind and handed me a plate w like 5 pieces of dry plain sliced bread and two dipping sauce/butters. Not impressed at all but I just had a couple pieces to tide me over. They waited exceedingly long for the chicken pot pie so the manger brought out a raw fish app as an "oopsie". My friend doesn't even eat raw fish neither do I, so that was bad not even asking first if we ate raw food. They got their food finally and there was a big chicken bone inside the soup/pie portion of the chicken pot pie. She could have choked! I told the server and he said "Well at least you know it's fresh chicken!" Are you kidding me?! A customer could have choked and he made a sarcastic joke wow beyond unprofessional. No manager ever came out to apologize or anything. They rushed thru their meal and we all left. No manager ever came over after being told there was a bone -either he didn't care or the server never told him who knows but that was appalling. This place including the bar was empty we counted 3 other tables the entire evening so how does a manager NOT have time to come by a table w so many issues? Overall none of us were impressed and since I am a local will have to pass on going in the future. It was a dark decor with many tables yet no one was there for the several hours we were waiting for their meal. Seeing an empty establishment says a lot. Disappointed bc we go to the Arts District often and are always iso a new foodie spot. read more

Came around 10am on Friday (no wait to order). Friendly service, tasty pastries, refills on drip coffee (which was great for the $4 price) Basque cheesecake - this blew me away with its lightness, subtle creamcheese flavor, and perfect pairing of berries. And this comes from someone who loves crust on cheesecake. Pumpkin creme brulee croissant - nice and pumpkiny, but the best part was the overall bake and texture. It was perfectly crispy on the outside with a good inner chew. Will visit again! A cute place tucked in the Art's District! This place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I really liked that they had an open room for seating and tables. The other side of the wall is an intimate bar area. For a quick night out, I ordered the green garlic butter. It consisted of melted leeks and chive oil - to die for . For entrée, I ordered the San Marzano Tomato spaghetti. The spaghetti was amazing! The texture of the pasta, the pancetta, and sauce all worked together to create this light refreshing dish. Finally, for dessert, I ordered an Affogato. It's difficult to find a well done Affogato in Vegas (I've been looking for months.) 1228 makes their vanilla in house and that tasted amazing! The espresso shot however could use some work. I would rate my Affogato a 3/5. With all things considered, I give this place a 5/5. I will come again at a different time to try the Affogato, they might have just had a fluke! read more

New beautiful place in downtown. Service was incredible and food was amazing. The smell of freshly baked bread as you walk in is AMAZING! great wine selection and drinks. And the food menu is nice and simple and what we had was just cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We had *BREAD- sooo good- walnut and raisins, rye and ciabatta * CALIFORNIA GRILLED SQUID- *STEAK TARTAR- it even had a great little kick to it, not too much but just right. *TOMATO SPAGHETTI - very good *STEAK- I do love me some steak. It was cooked just perfectly. We ate so much, that even tho we wanted to we couldn't have dessert. Lol It's a great vibe and I would definitely keep going back. read more
My husband and i stopped by on a saturday morning to try the new place in the arts district, the restaurant is really modern and its very nice inside. I love the arts district and this is a nice addition to the variety of bars and places to eat. We didn't have any food but spent some time at the abr and had a great time, selina was amazing and made our time there even more fun. We will be back for dinner another time to try their dishes, it's a great place for a date night or just to meet with friends. read more

1228 Main has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the Arts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With a homey yet spacious atmosphere, I love having my work meetings or entertaining out of town friends here! The pastries, bread, and baked goods (15/10) take the number one spot on my list. They have unbelievable options and I love how they switch up their items regularly - keeps it fun. My all time favorite is the flourless/truffle chocolate cake, truly one of the best things I've ever had in my life. PLEASE MAKE THAT A REGULAR STAPLE! The Key Lime Pie, Honey Crisp Apple Crumble and Basque Cheesecake are truly desserts I dream about. And you can't go wrong with their chocolate croissants and French baguettes. Dinner ranks second (8.5/10). With seasonal options and a variety of specials, every entree and appetizer I have tried has been fire. Their handmade pasta is phenomenal, their meat and fish plates are must tries, and I love the comfort of the chicken pot pie! My only downside to a few of these meals (the steak and chicken pot pie) has been the temperature.. I like my food hot and I sometimes feel these entrees are a miss because they aren't hot enough. For appetizers, the green garlic butter is fantastic paired with the rye bread or anything that you can dip for that matter. My bf enjoyed the Spanish Anchovies a little too much and I love their salad options - super fresh and flavorful. I need to stop in for actual breakfast and not just pastries one of these days. I do love their lunch menu items (6/10) (the grilled cheese and tomato soup and the chicken sandwich), but they aren't the most flavorful options. The chicken sandwich can be a little bland but just ask for more honey mustard. Overall, this place is fairly priced, have some amazing food options for all meals, great drinks, and a beautiful staff of kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming people. This place is definitely one of my favorites in town!! read more
Visited for lunch and had one of the better Pastrami sandwiches I've had in awhile. Wagyu burger was average and could've used a bit more meat in the bun to meat ratio. The desserts were luscious especially the butter cake. The cheesecake was scrumptious also. Nice addition to arts district and great quality food. read more
Came here on Saturday morning for a girl's brunch with a group of 9. We had a reservation, and the service was wonderful! Our server was attentive and kept our drinks full and gave great recommendations. I had the little gem salad, and the croutons were delicious and fresh, the chicken was seasoned well, and the dressing was delicious. I also had bottomless mimosas, which were great and cost $30. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

Do not be turned away at the sight of a small limited menu. We ordered a variety of pastries and entrees and everything was incredibly delicious. The breads are all fresh handmade and sooooo yummy. Our top items are probably the grilled chicken sandwich, breakfast croissant, and grilled cheese. (All of the parties are yummy, you cannot go wrong with any of them) My only negative is that they do not have fountain drinks, rather they have canned beverages. (Even still, not at all a big deal) This was absolutely AMAZING read more

Oh my goodness, did this place blow out my expectations! We started with drinks at the bar, and their espresso martini was so yummy. Then we headed to our table where our server, Primo, graciously walked us through the menu and wine list. Everything was delicious, truly. We had a cherry walnut bread with their signature butter, the duck confit appetizer, snap pea salad, heirloom tomato salad to start and everything was absolutely delicious! Our mains were the red snapper, and the angliotti and wow... every bite was perfectly seasoned, creamy, crunchy perfection. To finish out, the manager came by and chatted with us, and brought out a selection of desserts that were mind blowing. Cravable, not too sweet, each bite better than the last. Don't miss this cute spot, perfect for a date night with a side a people watching. We can't wait to go back! read more
