    Jackpot Deluxe Breakfast.

We Tried Black and Blue Diner this morning right when they opened, and it did not disappoint. This place has been on our bucket list for sometime now and we are so happy we finally got try them. We actually had the place to ourselves at first, but it quickly filled up--which makes sense because it's clearly a local favorite with lots of regulars coming in. We ordered the Jackpot Deluxe Breakfast and the chilaquiles, and both were great choices. I asked for extra crispy bacon and most places disappoint me as they don't know what extra crispy is but this place nailed it!!!! It was so good. The eggs, diner potatoes and bacon were great. Pancakes which we shared were also delicious. The chilaquiles were outstanding according to my fiancé. They give you the option of red or green sauce or the option for half and half which is what he chose. The salsa verde was good and the right blend of tomatillos, green chiles and everything else. It was not overly spicy but just the right amount of kick to let you know there was some heat in there. The salsa Roja was smoky and flavorful as well. It complimented everything else. The steak was juicy, seasoned to perfection however it was slightly overcooked but it was so good my fiancé didn't realize it until he was almost done eating it. lol. He didn't even use any cholula because he said it was that good, but if you want an extra kick, It is there on the table if you need it. They do not skimp on the ingredients as even the coffee was the brand chock full o' nuts Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were solid--definitely a satisfying start to the day. The menu is surprisingly extensive with tons of options, including a great gluten-friendly section and plenty of choices for vegan guests. It really feels like there's something for everyone here. The service really stood out. Our server Amber was awesome--super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and the rewards program which we signed up for just off her recommendation and knowledge alone. She even recommended her personal favorites which made ordering easy. The diner itself is not super huge but if you go there early enough, you may avoid the crowds, but let's face it, the ambiance is apart of the experience as well. It's bright, clean, and welcoming. Overall, this is a great spot whether you're a regular or just passing through. This place is a 10/10, we highly recommend and We'll 100% be back. Next time we will take the opportunity to look around a little more at the decor, accolades and magazine articles they have been featured in. We were nervous first timers but Amber made us feel right at home.

So many great plant based options! I've never found a diner in town that I can get a full breakfast/lunch with classic options but vegan. Fast, friendly service. I had an omelet and hash browns and side of sourdough toast. It was so good and a lot of food. Pretty reasonably priced. Will be back to so of the other great breakfast and lunch options.

Came to Black and Blue Diner expecting a vibe... and yeah, I got one. Not sure if it was "retro diner chic" or "this place has seen some things," but either way, it definitely has character The food was actually pretty decent--nothing life-changing, but it hit the spot. Like, if you're hungry and questioning your life choices at the same time, this place understands you. Portions were solid, flavors were there, no complaints on that front. Now let's talk about the ambiance... it's a little... seasoned. You ever walk into a place and feel like the walls could tell stories? Yeah, that. It's got that slightly run-down, rough-around-the-edges look, but hey, adds to the experience I guess. Keeps you humble. Service though? Surprisingly quick. Like, blink and your food's already on the table. No time to overthink your order or your surroundings. Overall: good food, fast service, and an atmosphere that builds character. Would I come back? Yeah... just maybe not on a first date unless you're really trying to test them.

After a successful morning getting a stash of viral Trader Joe's bags we wanted some breakfast. Trusty Yelp advocating this Vegan friendly establishment. First thing that caught my eye was the Cheesecake menu calling and they even offered Vegan ones! We wanted breakfast first and left no room for dessert. Next time I'll initiate the dessert first choice!

Rosies are blue. Black is the new red. A server named Amber. And a wide variety of vegan options for you.

I got the plate that had (all vegan) a waffle, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. It was very good! Thrilling bacon is great, and I added blueberries to the waffle. I also tried some fries, which were very good.

A place with options. A quick decision directed us to the Black and Blue diner. With a very attentive staff we were seated immediately. The breakfast was tasty with even vegan options to choose from. So, if you ask if anybody is there. A traveler would know to stop at the most unsuspecting places, as the house is filled inside for a yahoo experience and a server with a genuine smile.

Went here with a friend for breakfast and it was disappointing. I ordered the pastrami swirl reuben with onion rings, and my friend ordered steak and eggs. The onion rings were great. They were crispy, and well seasoned. The pastrami was okay. The steak's texture and flavor were off. The coffee was weak, which was a letdown for a breakfast spot. The service, though, was good and the prices were reasonable. Overall, the experience was underwhelming.

Another delicious visit! We even participated in their promo of "buy one get one free" - I believe it's only on wednesdays and they have a list of items you can pick from (includes vegan and nonvegan options)! Everything was yummy once again! The food definitely tastes better than it looks. You can tell the food is seasoned well. We've tried vegan and non vegan items from omelets, breakfast burritos, waffles, pancakes, French toast, etc. and every time it's always delicious! Staff is always friendly and attentive. Our waters were refilled throughout our visit. A nice, chill environment. Definitely recommend!

Always amazing! Cute little diner. Was super busy on Veterans Day but Amber still gave great service!! Got my vegan steak grilled cheese I've been craving and it was delicious as always. My mom got a salad and it was massive. Food is pricey but portions are big and idk what their secret is but they make simple things taste so delicious!! Love this place! If you haven't been...GO!

Been a spell but man am I glad this place is still here. The best breakfast in Vegas, it's not even close. You can get literally anything breakfast here. Waffles, hash browns, eggs, toast, you name it, it's here. Vegan and regular a like! Service is always stellar and this is thr definition of small town diner. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while. We came here a little after 11am on a Saturday and it was prob the wrong timing. We were one of the last to be seated after their morning rush so it took over 30 min to get our food. It's a really good diner and they offer some unique items. It's small inside and a little bit icky. The booth we were in had seen much better days. My husband got their chilaquiles and grits. I got their chicken Caesar salad sandwich. We were content with our food and our server was pleasant. I wanted to order one of their cakes but they were all out. They have a nice selection dessert options. The parking seems limited, but there is plenty parking in the back.

Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like battered fish that would cross contaminate foods like gluten free french fries? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.

Hi do they have almond milk? Or any milk to go with the vegan menu? Thanks!

I ordered coffee and asked for planted based creamer to put in my coffee. They had some. It was sometime ago so I cannot recall if it was almond or oat and don't actually know if it was a creamer or milk.

    Is outdoor seating available?

No. It's all inside. They have a good sized parking lot so maybe that'll change. But at this point, there's no outside seating.

I've read the service here isn't good, but we've either been lucky or just have come on good days because we haven't had any issues. The waitstaff were dressed very casual, jeans and t-shirt casual. Although the food is upscale, everything else about this place seems very casual diner like. We could even see most of the work going on in the small kitchen. Mostly shareable plates... Our table chose the deviled eggs with caviar - these were a hit! Dynamite shrimp, most at the table liked these, they were spicy and the flavor was decent, but I just felt like the sauce made the breading a bit soggy and it wasn't a favorite of mine. Pork Belly - This had a buffalo sauce on it, which I wasn't too excited about at first, but it worked better than I expected. Wish it was just a little crispier but it was tender and I enjoyed it. Oxtail risotto - this one had mixed reviews from the table, I really enjoyed it. The flavor was good. There's only a small amount of meat and it's shredded into the risotto. Overall the consistency was a little weird, very thick and almost sticky/dry, plus the dark color. They had a steak on the menu and the flavor was great, one of the pricier menu items but it was a good share. My wife ordered a burger without the bun. She said the patty was well over-cooked and so it was pretty dry. They don't offer gluten-free buns or bread - bummer. The service was generally prompt, but seemed uncoordinated at times. For example, it seemed our waitress was also handling a very large party outside on the patio, and randomly the hostess would bring us a drink refill (hostess stand was right beside our table). That's good in a way, they are all a team, but she also picked up my plate and silverware after only the first appetizer - mind you they bring everything out as it's ready, so don't expect the whole table to eat together, you are expected to share! When I asked if she could replace my silverware, she grabbed a fork and knife and handed to me, but they weren't rolled in a napkin or anything, just barehanded me some silverware... anyway, I thought that was odd. Overall, the food had some bright spots and perhaps worth a lunch if you are downtown. I probably wouldn't seek it out again, but I'm not mad about the meal we had either.
