The food and experience just didn't come across as well for me as it did for others, I guess. I had heard good things about this restaurant and convinced Heather that we should stop here while we were on a kid-free morning. There was a short wait and coffee was available to help with the wait. It wasn't great coffee, but it was coffee just the same. I agree, portions are large - the small Montana had enough leftovers that we were able to bring it home for the kids to eat as lunch! Omelettes are made with 5 eggs - that's huge. And, like everyone else, the Montana is pretty good. But what isn't when you mix-in cheese and sour cream and bacon. Okay, ice cream isn't, but you get the idea. I really enjoy Eggs Benedict, so that was the easy decision for me. The Hollandaise was a little runny and my potatoes were pretty plain, some onion, some bell pepper, but that is all. Make that very plain when I compared them to Heather's Montana. By no means is the food here bad, it just wasn't great. Went for a late breakfast on day. Long wait in a small place. The food was really good (some breakfasty scramble) but it was hell getting a refill on my coffee. It would have been an enjoyable meal had it not been so cramped and loud. Given the choice I'd had gone to a bar and grill and ordered a slightly less good breakfast and had room to get in an out of my chair comfortably. I would have given more stars because the food was so good, but their service is HORRIBLE! We went here for a late breakfast and as always, they were pretty packed! The hostess cleaned off a table and promptly seated us. Our waitress then came to the table and asked what we wanted after rambling off some sort of special off and quickly becoming irritated when we inquired more about it. We asked for coffee and it became a struggle to get cream so we asked the table next to us if we could have theirs since they were leaving. She came back asking if we were ready already. We quickly ordered and our meal soon came. Meanwhile the table next to us had been seated and our server was still acting nasty. With the tables so close to each other, the couple next to us overheard us mentioning her attitude and informed us that she is always like that. Its unfortunate that a restaurant would keep someone with such a bad attitude. If I go again, I hope that she would not be my server again, because the food is good. read more

Based on breakfast only my experience was average. Yes, they have generous portions and the food came out fast but I wasn't feeling the flavors. The biscuit was not fluffy - it had a gritty-like texture, the potatoes could of used some more flavor, my omelette was fine. See ,not much to say beside ... it was fine. My friends whom I meet there were worth seeing but not sure if would trek out and go back. It is WAY too overpriced for the mediocre food you get. $11 for tuna and cheese on white bread with some fries?? $12 for a plate filled with salad-from-a-bag?!? Ridiculous. My husband and I like coming here for breakfast, but make sure you get here early cause it gets packed! So far, I've had their Sweet Pea's Favorite omelette and Italiano omelette. Both were yummy and comes with spuds and your choice of a biscuit, toast, or pancakes. I always choose the buckwheat pancakes and they are delish! I use to order food from here back in high school when I worked across the parking lot at Imagination Express, the great local toy store that is no more. I remember the tuna melt was my favorite. It is also a favorite spot for weekend brunch amongst friends and family. You're sure to run into someone you know, even if you haven't lived in town for 5 years! Went there about an hour ago with my son and we both were disgusted by the poor quality of the food served to us. I could only stomach half of the "Truckers" special breakfast of Luke warm-scrambled eggs, potatoes, nasty looking and horrible tasting gravy, with right out of the can under baked biscuits. My son's fish and chips were under cook cod, with fries, and the kicker? Get this: Spoiled Rotten Lettuce slices that look like a black fungus convention which would make you wonder is the cook blind, or hates his/her job? . I asked the waitress "Heather" what the deal was with the totally rotten lettuce added to the meal. Her reply was I am sorry I don't know.? No let me get the manager and have them talk to you.? Every time that I can I go here to have a breakfast. Busy on weekends but worthwhile. The portions are big and the service is awesome! The decor is nice and I like the bar because they have a display of old Boeing scale models. The breakfast offer is complete, from very typical American breakfast to highly sophisticated dishes like Huevos Rancheros or southwestern omelet. The service is fast and accurate, the jam (specially strawberry) is a must to try because it is good, the pancakes are also very good. If you are in sandwich mood I'll recommend the Tuna one, really good and if you like hot chile just ask for the "Green Salsa" which is a homemade Mexican salsa made from jalapeos and serranos, simply delicious! This place is right in the mall area next to Target in Issaquah. Popular for breakfast and brunch. It has a diner like ambience, with similar menu on offer. The prices are high, but portions are fairly generous. But the food is very average. We ordered a veggie burger with avocado, and sweet potato fries and a special of the day - sausage scramble with house potatoes, and a side (we got biscuit). The potatoes had been made earlier in the day and just warmed up. The sausage scramble was ok, but nothing to obsess over. The server was friendly and came by to ask if I wanted jelly with the biscuit. The veggie burger was nicely sized and the sweet potato fries seemed freshly made. The veggie patty in the burger was bland and tasteless, expected I guess and we couldn't eat much. The tables were not too clean and the server appeared rushed but she was friendly. That was perhaps the only redeeming grace of this place so I am giving it 3 stars. Otherwise, it would have been 2 stars for food. I prefer the nearby Egg and Us a little more over this place, although that one is no cheaper either. Sadly there is a dearth of good breakfast/brunch places in Issaquah. read more

The Montana special is an incredible breakfast dish comprised of diced potatoes, peppers, cheese, bacon, ham, green onions, tomatoes, onions, piled a good six inches high and topped with a fist-sized dollop of sour cream on the top (tip: ask for a fried egg on the top to make this dish even more incredible). When you factor in the side of pancakes, it is a good 3-4 meals. The small size would be more than enough for a huge breakfast, but I like to get the medium and enjoy leftovers all week. Most everything else on the menu is great as well, particularly the fried egg sandwich and the chicken fried steak. The atmosphere is nothing special but I have nostalgia for it nonetheless. Red vinyl booths, servers rushing around refilling your coffee and water every 90 seconds, and people milling around the door waiting for a table (though you never have to wait long). When you finally get a table, it is the perfect place to spread out a Sunday Seattle Times and spend an hour. read more

Regardless of what I'm in the mood for when I walk into this place, if I see the Huevos on the specials board, its not a regular menu item, I'm ordering it. No exceptions. My friend and I decided to grab a bite after our walk and it was between Panera and the 12th Ave Cafe. Panera is always busy and we were too hungry to stand in line, so we headed to the Cafe. We were sat right away but we both had strollers and had to get smushed into the back corner table. both of our strollers were taking up 2 other tables basically there wasnt a place to put them. I ordered the french dip. It wasn't fantastic. but It was still pretty good. I asked for a side of horseraddish and got what i asked for! Thinking it was the creamy version and not the straight up deal i piled it onto my sandwich and took a bite. holy cow! You got to be careful with that stuff. I decided to get the chicken strips for my daughter. She loved them. had plenty of ranch for them and my salad. My friend had the Reuben and she loved it. When the check came the price was $3 higher than expected. I questioned server who checked the menu and confirmed that price was correct. What a pleasant experience for our Sunday lunch! It was my first time there and it goes on my favorite eats places list. We had a warm greeting when arrived, and our server arrived quickly. We had the meatloaf sandwich and bread pudding. The sandwich was fabulous...very tasty meatloaf, and delicious fried potatoes...both were served fresh and piping hot which is a rare treat! Whenever I get a hot cocoa there, the server gives me a mountain of whipped cream...Which is AWESOME! Exactly what I want. I am not a fan of the prices, because it is too expensive for what it is. Sure, you get ALOT of food, and end up taking some home...but I wish they had a Junior menu. They have a kids menu, but you have to be 12 or younger. When I eat there, I usually spend about $20, which is not exactly a great price for breakfast. Great for a special occasion kind of morning though! I do like this place.
