Love this place! My go to spot for a chill and elegant evening. The service is impressive and they know their wine and guide us every time for an excellent selection. I love how it doesn't feel pretentious and they make you feel welcomed. Great place for a date night or to catch up with friends. Vibey. Feels like a IYKYK kinda place. I drive past the building on my commute and stretch my neck to see what's going on in this building. Found out it's THE 13 Celsius I've heard about, the one with the s'mores! We got those s'mores, a marg panini and two glasses of red. Everything was nice, especially the service. Our server listened to my likes and suggested a Grenache that I enjoyed. We will def be back. read more

It's time I update my review, friends. So they no longer feature the Sunday half priced glasses of wine, but they do offer half price bottles of wine (select menu while it lasts) on Sundays. 13 is still a great place to Sunday Funday (in a calmer, more adult fashion), have a date night, girls night, drinks with the parents, etc. Fantastic service, still one of the best cheese plates in town... And the DIY s'mores! It's more than just marshmallows and melted chocolate. They throw in fruit and nuts too. Love you, 13. You're one of H-town's original true wine bars (est circa 2007, right?). Such a hip and trendy place! You can seat yourself upon arrival. The menu consists of fine wine selections, charcuterie boards, and small plates and sandwiches. The staff will check up on you periodically. If you are unsure of what to order they'll do a good job in making suggestions according to the flavors you're into. Overall great place for a date or just to hang out with a friend. They have a patio and limited parking on site available. Otherwise street parking is your only other option. read more

Finally got to try this cute romantic spot! I came with a group for friends one evening and we were seated outside. With the breeze we were able to stay warm with the heaters. I had the s'mores (YUM, and you can roast the marshmallows at your table; it comes with fixings such as green apples, peanut butter, Nutella, graham crackers, and chocolate squares). I also tried a cheese board (OG Kristal), which had a fudgy texture with crystals embedded in it. It was so interesting, I hadn't had anything like it. I loved it! Such a cute wine bar. As you're walking up they have heaters outside and some tables set up overlooking the neighborhood. The ambiance of this wine bar was everything. It wasn't too crowded, not too noisy. The lady helping us was amazing. She let us try out a wine because they options were a little overwhelming. She helped us pick out our cheeses and our meet. They had a board with two cheese, two meat which was perfect to share with another person. The wine was delicious as well. All you need is one bottle I promise. When in doubt get the bottle! This location is very cute, and has huge windows! I love the location as well, a nice little residential street in Midtown. Super cute wine bar that I happened to drive by one evening. So glad I did because I decided to pop in for a glass. It's kinda tucked away so you might miss it. There's a tiny parking lot in the rear that can accommodate about 8 cars so it seems like the perfect walkable neighborhood wine bar for those who live nearby. The size of the lot fooled and while it's not a huge place by any means, it's a lot larger than I expected. There's even a patio out back with seating. The inside is cozy and dimly lit. AND I was pleasantly surprised to see Happy Hour deals on glasses and bottles on a Sunday. Their list had some great choices and some good looking bites to eat. I just grabbed a quick glass but I'll be back soon to enjoy a HH bottle! read more

Wow. This is definitely my new spot! As soon as you sit down you're greeted by friendly staff. I know what I do and don't like to a certain extent so I did ask for suggestions not only on wine but cheese and meat pairings as well. Everything suggested was completely on point. They gave me two different wines that went great with the board I had then I ended the night with the truffles and a port. This was by far one of the best dining experiences Ive had in a while. They're completely open to questions and truly finding what you like. I simply asked "what dry red would you suggest for the cheeses I have" and BOOM perfect pairing. The ambiance is dark and intimate with music that fits the vibe. 10/10 recommend. read more

This venue hosts a variety of events each month catered to the awareness of wine from different regions from around the globe. I recently attended an NYE 1920s Dinner party that they put on of which the collaborated with Chef Tarsa Gary. The menu featured Sparkling Champagnes, vibrant Reds and Sweet Porters which paired nicely with each of the 5 courses served. This wine bar has a very nice ambiance and the staff was lovely. They maje it look like they took over a concrete warehouse without bothering to paint the walls... on purpose!! It's oh so industrial crusty chic! Of course the leather couches and chairs make up the chic contrast of the place. That was a long winded way of saying: this place is cool!! A great spot for a low key girls night, gathering with friends or romantic date night. We sat at the bar and was greeted with a friendly welcome. Been here for wine and their s'mores platter, which is definitely the best I've had in HTX thus far! It has the most stuff, from dried fruit to peanut butter, to jelly. The bartenders are always very kind in terms of letting you try different wines, and they are quite knowledgeable as well. They have bar seating and various tables and couches around the place. We started off fine but then the staff cut us off us after only 4 bottles over 4 hours with 4 people. Our company budget was over a thousand dollars on food -- but we never got to spend that. Instead, a glass was broken by accident, and we were kicked out. This was an overreaction. We were always pleasant and well behaved. No customer ever complained about us, and no one ever said we were loud. The servers just decided we were loud and they cut us off. We weren't allowed to buy more wine. We weren't drunk. We were embarrassed. We were told to leave. I Won't go back. I would have assumed that the service staff would have appreciated the customers because they were empty otherwise. We'll go somewhere else next time. read more

We live right down the street from this place and it is, hands down, my favorite wine bar in Houston. It feels historic but also super trendy. The staff is top tier and they always have such great recommendations for wine and charcuterie. We often share a bottle of wine with their large charcuterie board, and always get the Prairie Breeze and Feta. The outdoor courtyard space is our favorite in the nicer weather months and don't leave without trying their s'mores board, it's fabulous! read more

With an aim toward providing Houston with the best wine possible, 13 celsius prides itself as the only wine bar in town to actually keep its wine in a temperature-controlled cellar. Located in the heart of Midtown, this circa-1927 Mediterranean-style building creates an atmosphere reminiscent of the wine bars and Enotecas of Europe. We have an open air courtyard, luxurious seating, and nearly 40 feet of white marble bar from which one can partake from a bold and unique wine list focused on low-production, high-quality wines. I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.

Food options are on the light side: meat & cheese boards, bread, and small bites. We started out with the warm bread - while it's normally served with butter, there's an option to switch that out with olive oil & herbs which is what we did. We then went for the meat & cheese platter. We couldn't decide on which meats or cheeses, so we did the option of ordering all 8! This came with 4 delicious meats and 4 tasty cheeses (from Houston Dairymaids), also with crispy fava beans, olives, pickles, and bread. This was a good amount for our group of 4 to share. I believe this is one of the best wine bars in Houston hands down! It was a few months ago that i came in with my girlfriend, We came in a little early amd were told that they were not serving for a few minutes and that was fine but we asked for a menu! A tall blonde girl gave us a menu and was very haughty almost to the point of being rude. We asked if we could order a meat and cheese plate while we perused the menu. The big blonde whos name turned out to be Adell said we couldnt order for several more minutes. There was no one else in the building and she seemed more interested in her cell phone then helping us. After looking at the amazing wine list an amazing lady by the name of Brie came by to help us! She giuded me and my girlfriend through the extensive wine list. My girl got a reisling and I recieved i think it was a syrah. We then saw Brie go to the meat slicer and cut up our meat and cheese. She is amazing and a wonderful creature. Her suggestions on the wine amd charcuterie were top notch. Because of her I give this place 5 stars. The whole time Brie was taking care of us Adell sat on a barstool totally absorbed on her cellphone. We will be coming back for sure but dont ask for Adell. She is to busy facebooking or something to care. We were also waited on a girl the 2nd time we went in by the name of Samantha! She was sweet as well and knew her stuff. And again we saw Adell sitting on a barstool on her phone and didnt even aknowledge us even after we waived. Found out she is the gm. Scary. 13 Celsius is the perfect spot for an intimate night out. The dim lighting and cozy atmosphere make it great for a small group, but it truly shines as a date night spot. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, especially when it comes to their extensive selection of Old World wines. They let us sample a few options before making a decision, which was incredible helpful when looking to explore new wines. While the food menu is decent, it is quite limited, so this isn't the place for a full dinner. However, the small appetizers we tried were excellent--we even ordered a second round. The focus here is undoubtedly on the wine, and it's a fantastic place to discover and enjoy unique selections you might not be familiar with. If you're looking for a laid-back yet refined wine experience, 13 Celsius is well worth a visit. read more

Personally I liked the night of 80s songs! I felt a bit nostalgic, but so good. My girlfriend is a wine drinker, so we originally stopped by this place to have a glass of Georgian red drink, and couldn't resist getting the tapas. The prices are not low, so if you do not have much money probably you will buy any wines there but the quality will not be high. The interior is fine and the workers.. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. The day before it had rained so every outdoor seating was wet. But I was told that they had a beautiful seating outside with a garden and a pool. Service was good. The bartender came out of the bar to take orders, give menus and give you the check. I will say that it got really busy at the end and it took a while to get our check. There's only one or two bartenders working at one time so if there's multiple people with different drinks that are ordered, it will take a little bit longer. Not hard to find, it's located to the right as you walk in. What brought us here is that it's listed as one of the top 50 bars in Houston in Houstonia Magazine. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler. For Bar No. 3 to be the only hotel bar on Houstonia's top 50 is a feat in itself.

They have a vast selection of cocktails separated by flavors (smoky, sweet, tropical, etc.). We ultimately had three rounds and all of the drinks were quite good.
