We went to dinner here recently with another couple. The restaurant is relatively new, but was very busy even in the summer and an extremely attactive place. We were seated quickly and met several of the team that was going to serve is that evening. One of the team explained that they were still working the kinks out, but let any of them know if we needed anything. It reminded me of the days when I used to eat at Houston's. Great teamwork and camaraderie. Great bonus points for allowing us to bring in our own bottle of wine, then uncorking it for no fee at all. We did order drinks before the meal, but this was a nice savings on the bill. We had a nice sushi appetizer that all four of us enjoyed. No bread service, but that is fine. We knew from our photos that the meal would be plenty, so we didn't need it or want it. Two of us ordered an absolutely spectacular double bone in pork chop that had to be 20 ounces of meat, and a few inches thick. Pork is difficult to cook, especially when it is so thick, so they told us it would take some time, but we were perfectly fine waiting an additional 10 minutes. Other photos (plus the menu) told us that the pork chop would be served with mashed potatoes, but they were absent, so we asked one of the team, and they immediately agreed that this was a mistake, and took care of it within minutes, bring a huge plate for both of us. The other two diners had a lamb shank that was also huge and came with the mashed potatoes. The food was tremendous. Several boxes were brought home, and the portions did not allow for a dessert. No room at all. But it was a great evening and we thorouhly enjoyed ourselves. I've had problems uploading photos to Yelp, but hopefully I can figure it out so others can see the massive portions, prepared perfectly and very reasonable prices. read more

Usually, I find myself picking a dish or two as my favorite from the meal, but nearly everything I had was equally outstanding. The restaurant itself is cozy and feels very luxurious. The service we got from Marissa was fantastic as well. As for the food: get the cornbread to start! It's massive and so fresh. Coming from someone who's tried many of the best steakhouses in the US, the ribeye was one of the best I've ever had; it has this incredible seasoning that reminds me of Korean BBQ. The baby back ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the kale & quinoa side salad was a great way to balance the flavor. The brownie with ice cream was a marvelous dessert as well. The prime rib sandwich is very good, the ribs are great and the trout is a very tasty piece of fish. We did not like the slaw but my wife loves the quinua and kale salad. I liked the cold wild rice dish because it has a lot of texture and a nice flavor. That being said, the fries and grits are the best side dishes. The special house lemon drop martini is more of a mojito than a lemon drop. They should give it a new name. The Raeburn Pinot Noir was pretty good. Beautiful interior. read more

Tonight we had an amazing and delicious meal at 131 Main! This restaurant has only been open about 2 weeks and they still have some training taking place with trainers from their other locations. We had an early dinner reservation and only had to wait a few minutes before being seated in a booth with a view of the windows. All of the staff were friendly and easy to talk with. Our server was knowledgeable and checked in us often. We ordered the double dip (guacamole and roasted red pepper) for an appetizer. I chose the salmon with broccoli while Bill had the ribs with fries and a peanut and ginger slaw! (You can see his before and after pics! ) Everything was served hot and was flavorful! We were visited then by one of the trainers and had a lovely conversation about the restaurant and then we enjoyed a delicious slice of banana crème pie with one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a restaurant in a long time!! I loved the design of the restaurant as well as the open kitchen view! They also have an indoor patio! It's a popular spot and if they keep up the same service and food as what we enjoyed then they should be around our neighborhood for a long time!! read more

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and promptly checked in while waiting for our friends to arrive. Our server, Preston, was fantastic--friendly and knowledgeable. We were a group of four and three of our meals came out lukewarm. Not sure why a restaurant that is rates so high can't heat the plates before they serve the food. There seems to be a delay from the kitchen preparing the food in the servers bringing it to the table. We got the prime rib sandwich and asked for horseradish three times. Our sandwich was almost entirely done by the time they finally delivered it. This may be a small complaint but we expected a little more from a restaurant that is a little expensive for lunch. Drove from Tampa to check out the new Lakewood Ranch location after having eaten at one of the Charlotte locations and was not disappointed! They were busy but not overly crowded which made for a great experience. We started with cocktails on the patio (the massive screened windows open up making for the perfect FL HH vibe) before moving to a table in the dining room which was also beautiful. The servers were attentive from the moment we sat down and made sure we were taken care of. The most impressive thing we noticed was the speed at which everything came out from the bar & kitchen. Despite being new & busy on a Friday night, everything came out extremely fast and fresh. As far as the menu goes, you really can't go wrong. We've tried most of the appetizers at this point and they're all amazing, but the cornbread is the best you'll ever have. The Thai Steak, Prime Rib, & Shrimp n Grits are also next level. We were beyond full from apps & dinner but heard the strawberry shortcake was amazing so we had to make room - no regrets whatsoever! Their version of a strawberry shortcake is unique in that has a massive, sweetened biscuit as the base rather than cake and let me tell you, I never want strawberry shortcake any other way. After looking forward to visiting this restaurant for months, my father came to town from Nashville with uncle from Orlando and their wives. My wife and I were going to celebrate our new born baby with my family. I called ahead and tried to get a reservation for 7:30 for a party of 7. They told me they had no reservations available, but if we came in, they could accommodate us as a walk-in. When I arrived, my uncle was already at the bar with his wife, awaiting us. They said that they had been told that as soon as the table became available, they would be informed. I then went to the host stand to confirm this information when the manager Jake approached me and said that they could not accommodate us at all. He said that they already had three booths that were full of people, enjoying their meals and another booth that could accommodate seven but was reserved and that they absolutely could not accommodate us. He didn't say that there would be a wait or the possibility of a table at anytime and he didn't offer any type of help. He just flat out told us there's nothing we can do for you at all. He said as you can see there's people enjoying their meals and so you can't eat here. he did not even apologize. It was Jake's way of telling us that seemed very unhelpful and almost with an attitude that he didn't want us to be there. Which caught me very of guard seeing as how we were dressed well and ready for a nice family outing. Anyways we ended up at Bar Italia which treated us great and had amazing food. In conclusion Jake is terrible. Don't think Ill try again at 131 main. read more

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt that this restaurant really cares about their customers. We were greeted immediately & were offered options while we waited for the rest of our group. We could enjoy the lovely comfortable patio couches or be seated at our table and enjoy a drink. perfect ! We chose to be seated and had immediate service by Patrick who got us our drinks. Our drinks were served including lids on the kids waters. Our food was delicious, timely & some of the BEST crab cakes I've ever had!! They had a nice kids menu too & everyone agreed that the food was outstanding & cooked perfectly. Wine list was impressive with a nice selection of wines by the glass. When it was dessert time, they really out did themselves with both kids with vanilla bean ice cream & chocolate sauce!! Both kids hate to go out to eat at a restaurant usually but not this time!! Mom & Dad were able to enjoy their dinners with the kids enjoying their pasta. That's how you run a business Our server was amazing, attentive, helpful, recommended delicious dishes, and every meal that was ordered although there was four of us three people got the special which was the grouper and my husband who's been eating grouper for many years even the ones he's caught, said it was probably one of the best groupers Dinner that he's ever had. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. We also ordered the cornbread for an appetizer and split two desserts. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The open kitchen adds to its ambience. I can't wait to go back again. I also want to do a shout out to one of the chefs who came by to ask about our dinner and we asked him if he could see our server so we could have him take a picture - his response was " I can cook and take pictures" and indeed he did. Had an amazing experience on 6/5: we were quoted a 20 min wait time, we saw an open booth in the bar area which was first come first serve so opted to skip the wait and sit there. Glad we did! Our bartenders Marjorie, Hunter, Bryan, Cody were all great, each of them came by and took part in our exceptional service. Food was also on point! My wife had the special Halibut and I ordered the Filet ( the marinated ribeye was 86 for the night: all good will try next visit) Filet was cooked perfectly, and the cook on hardwood grill reminded me of one of my other favorite restaurants.
