This is a great little place to stop and grab a bite but no one's really wearing any masks or any type of protective wear when they are there so it's really a nerve-wracking experience at least nowadays to be there. But I still enjoy the atmosphere of being there and sitting on their deck on the outside. The food there is absolutely delicious and the wait staff is very courteous and friendly it is very recommended that you try it if you're ever in the area. The only downside that I see to this place at this point is the fact that there is no parking there is a parking lot on the side down the road but not sure if it's for this building for another building or what it's used for nothing's really advertised for it. I've been here at least 5x. The service isn't the best at times. I asked for a gin and tonic and received a gin and sprite. There's only 2 things that go in this drink GIN & TONIC I'm not sure why so many bartenders mess that up! Their Caesar salad is soooooo good, the dressing is ny favorite. We have their burgers, and it's more like a typical burger. Nothing too fancy. I've also had their grilled chicken burger which their grilled chicken is always juicy. Show string fries are BOMB as long as they don't put too much salt. We've also had their pizza and it's tasted like microwaveable pizza, yuck! To be fair, this place has only been open a few weeks. So they are admittedly working out the kinks and I believe that on a second visit they will easily earn an upgraded review. We went on a Friday night when it was actually quite busy and they had live music which was a nice touch. The seating is communal table style from with appear to be tables made from old bowling lanes (definite points for hipster element there). When we walked in it was unclear whether you wait to be seated or seat yourself so my friendly suggestion to them would be a sign since there was no hostess. Once seated it took a while for someone to come back and take our order but from there on out it was much smoother sailing. The food came out relatively quickly, I'll admit I was impressed. Their menu is simple and consists of wings, burgers, chicken sandwiches, deli sandwiches and pizza. You customize it to your heart's content. We started with the wings in a medium sauce. They were actually quite good with just enough spice and flavor. We then shared a pizza, burger, and buffalo chicken salad. The pizza was ok, crust is thin but a little too greasy for my coronaries. The salad was surprisingly good. You can order a salad in this place and not feel embarrassed because they make great salads that they're proud of. The burger was actually excellent. Meat was tender and juicy, bun was crisp. Winner. Their outdoor seating scene looks phenomenal so I think we'll be back in the summer to enjoy it. When I went here a few weeks ago, I was really put off by the service...the bartenders were so rude and snotty! They seemed like they were miserable and like they hate their customers. This review is delayed , Yes. Visited new years day and was surrounded by bar guests drinking bloody Marys. My friend and myself stuck to Beer, the selection on tap was moderately varied. Not Bier Abbey quality, but many foreign selections. The male bartender was friendly and provided excellent service with a very full bar. The two stars come from the food experience. My burger and french fries were a salt bomb. I could feel my body bloating from the water retention almost immediately. My gf's panini and fries were a similar result. The food was almost inedible and I left over half my plate uneaten. My recommendation is stay away from fried foods and the grill. Perhaps the pizza and salad would sit better . I am positive I will return. especially in the summer to utilize the patio. But my dining future at Firestone ended as soon as it began. read more

This is a wide open space type of bar and restaurant combined. The atmosphere is very nice , sometimes a little loud but that was to be expected. I really hope to get over there in the summer time so that I can joy there outdoor patio area. We did pop over there for a quick bite to eat and a quick beer. Our server was very good. The food we had was actually better than I expected and my friend who had ordered a pizza said his pizza was delicious so I do intend on ordering a pizza from there as well. They do have live music for entertainment not sure what that schedule is about ... me personally, i'm not really into live music at the bar unless I can sit far enough away where I can still have a conversation (this happened to be a night where we could still have conversation) I am glad I made it over and checked it out. I stopped in this place after a meeting. Around 8pm. It looked decent enough as i just relocated to the area and couldn't find much around. Upon entry it looked busy at the bar but the place by no means was packed. Plenty of space all around. No hostess at door when i got there but since i was a party of 1 i took it upon myself to go sit on the side of the bar which was not crowded and grabbed a seat. Live band was performing. As i sat down, the gentleman to my left was just taken care of by the bar tender so i knew i would get noticed right away. Well thats were it went down hill. I sat for over 15 minutes and was never served water or anything or acknowledged by the staff, if i could have menu. Tried to catch there attention but it was futile. Several people had come after me and were getting there orders taken and checked upon multiple times. I was ready to leave but then the bar tender came up to me (finally!) and when he asked what do i want i told him i would like a menu he rolled his eyes at me as if he was bother. At this point i was upset. I understood that it was busy but now i understood why people who came after me were taken care of and why i was not. (I was the only person of color in the place). Clearly upset, i got up and asked the hostess to speak to the manager. She then questioned why and what this was in regards and i stated that the service was poor and how i was sitting at the bar for over 15 minutes and how people who entered the restaurant after me at the bar were getting served before me and i was not even getting acknowledged, nothing. She proceeded to make excuses about how busy the place was. I told her i understand but they clearly saw me sitting there but decided to serve other people and go around me. Even as far as to serve the same group of people multiple times. Obviously my complaint fell on deaf ears because the hostess stated that the manager was one of the people working at the bar. I've only ever been here for soup stroll and this was my first happy hour so I'm not the best person to review this place yet. Nonetheless, the atmosphere just seems wonderful and it's a place I really would like to continue to visit. I went on a Friday and there was live music which I always enjoy. I ordered 2 beers and a coke at the bar and that was $9, I think the coke was free placing the beer right at $4.50. I ordered the clam chowder which I am a fan of since the soup stroll. I had lunch there today. Ordered a blackened chicken sandwich. The chicken was so tough, i could not bite through it. I gave it 1/4 of a try. I informed the waitress that it was not edible. Her response was: yeh, that happens with some of the pieces of our chicken sometimes. She asked if i wanted something else. Long and overdue review here. Been going to 151 for over 5 years now and have loved every single trip. This is one of my downtown go-to places!!! The food is simply incredible and there aren't many places around with food like it. I had a chef salad this past visit. 10/10. My usuals are the chicken salad or wings. Take this one with a grain of salt as it's based on one visit...my wife and I stopped by after the Italian festival - we happened to park on Lafayette and noticed the place. Visually, great location, great outdoor area, very nice atmosphere and looks like a fun place to hang out. We decided we'd stop by for a glass of wine and dinner on the way home. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and we chose to sit outside and overlook City Hall. Service was fast albeit early in the evening and the place was less than half full. We really like the layout of the bar especially on a nice late summer evening - nice transition from the inside to the outside. First impression of the menu was that it's pretty limited, salads, basic appetizers, some sandwiches and burgers. Granted, the salads looked good from reading the descriptions (others here have mentioned they are good), but we settled on sharing mozzarella sticks and two different burgers. The food was decent, nothing special, not a big fan of the fries as they were kinda bland...motz sticks were good - again, nothing special, but the melba sauce was very good. Both burgers were decent, but the only thing that really stood out were the buns (very tasty), but the burgers themselves were just OK...I was a disappointed the burger meat really didn't have any flavor outside of the condiments - it was as if they don't bother to even add salt or pepper... Overall, we enjoyed our visit due to the location and atmosphere, the staff was very nice and attentive, but nothing struck us as, "Hey, we gotta come back here"...frankly, we'll probably patronize our regular places such as 20 North Broadway and Pinhead Susan's long before we go back... read more

I arrived, sat at the bar, and ordered a slice of pizza and a beer which was $7. I then ordered a $3 soda. All of this was put on my card though I did leave $2 cash on the bar for the bartender. I was there for over 30 min and had to leave unexpectedly for a phone call. The next day I looked at my bank statement and they had charged me $15. The bartender apparently felt he should give himself an additional $5 tip though he had never presented a slip for me to complete. I called them and was told they can't do anything about it and I have to file a dispute with my bank. It is hard to believe they can't research this in their POS, find my transaction, and rectify it. When I go out, I've basically only gone here the last several years but I will NEVER go back. read more

We stopped here on both trips up and back from moving our daughter into college. We took friends with us on the way back and they enjoyed it too! Awesome lunch spot with tasty burgers, fries, salads, and a great beer list. No frills but very good quality. The front of the restaurant opens to the patio outside and the space is huge and airy, with a great bar and lots of sports on the big screens. Friendly waitresses and great service. Schenectady is halfway between MA and where we were in upstate NY, so a perfect pit stop. A great find! We will be back. read more

With nice weather coming our way hubby decided to show me a sweet place in Schenectady. Off Lafayette was Firestone 151. Live music, patio was pretty packed, servers friendly and bar staff very accommodating. My husband had their house IPA and loved it. They do a happy hour from 1:51-4:51 which we had missed but will be back for so soon. All the food around us looked tremendous! Their classic drinks menu had so many options and the quality of the beers on draft are phenomenal! We loved the garlic Parmesan wings we shared as an appetizer, pizza and burgers will be next on our "to eat" list. Great space and so much seating! read more

Great place for a drink not so great for food. Reasonably priced drinks in a nice modern clean environment with great staff. Our go to place for happy hour, especially in the summer when the patio is open. My only complaints are the limited menu and price of the food/ amount you get. For example onion rings priced to make you assume a basket to share ($6) was actually just 7 onion rings. So I don't order food there anymore but we still frequently go for drinks. read more

When I asked about the bill our waitress was sweet and said "that's what I thought, too!" but the bartender was a douche and mumbled some indiscernible answer at me. So I asked for the manager (Kevin, apparently) who wasn't working, had no contact information available, but "may be at the bar tomorrow." Lesson learned: skip this place. read more

The design of the building is sleek and comfortable. The tables have a "bowling lane" cover which is very unique. The location is fantastic as you can look out over city hall. The is outdoor eating area that could be used during the summer. The staff were very generous and welcome to serve their customers. I ordered a Clam Chowder and a Cheeseburger. The Clam chowder was amazing, nice and thick with good chunks of clam. The burger was cooked medium well, it tasted superb with the fresh lettuce and onions. One small issue was the restaurant's temperature was on the cooler side. Other than that the overall experience was great! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I downloaded this app just to share my review because I was so astounded with my experience here. If you're considering going to 151 BAR and restaurant, literally go anywhere else. Last night I tried going here with my friends. Some of us are 20 and some of us recently turned 21. Two of my friends who are 21 tried ordering alcoholic drinks, but the waitress felt *uncomfortable* serving my friends after looking at their REAL IDs. She thought they were fake! And they were REAL government issues licenses! I understand serving underage people is totally not okay and there's tons of risk involved if this happens, BUT THEY WERE BOTH 21!!! The best part is that after concluding that one of my friend's IDs was fake (not sure how a real ID can look fake?), the waitress concluded that my other friend's must be fake as well as she justifies not serving either of them. I couldn't believe my own eyes watching someone look at a real ID and think that it's fake... My friends tried going up to the bar to get drinks instead, hoping there might be a scanner or they could get a second opinion from the bartender in order to verify that their real IDs were in fact real, and instead we were all asked by the waitress to leave the restaurant. The level of incompetence scares me. We were all dumbfounded at how this could actually happen as we left the restaurant. If my friends were using fake IDs, would they really be that bold to go up to a bar after being told by the waitress it's fake? No brain cells were used. It's really too bad because they lost a lot of business and we will not be returning to this restaurant again. We ended up at Denny's and luckily were treated properly as we enjoyed a fantastic meal. read more

Decided to try this place on a damp, rainy day and had a miserable experience. Upon being seated, we felt it was terribly cold in there and quickly realized there was a ceiling fan blowing down from nearby. We asked to move to a different table, but it was cold at that one too. We settled at the third table but suffered with the bone-chilling cold at that table also. Since I was so cold, I wanted something hot to drink...I ordered tea, which came out barely lukewarm. I asked the server to warm it up, but she returned and stated that there was something wrong with the hot water coming from their coffee machine. The menu is extremely limited, especially if you're vegetarian. There were simply a few greasy pub food offerings. I ended up with just mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce (that had a slight kick to it). My family and I received an underwhelming reception on a rainy Sunday afternoon. This is your typical gas station turned sports bar concept. Huge overhead garage doors , all open on a cool 65 deg rainy day. This made the climate inside damp, cold and uncomfortable. We all all had waters and it tasted like it was drawn straight out of the Mohawk River. Most of the waitress walking casually about and not in a hurry to do much of anything. My gratuity reflected the level of service provided.The bar was rowdy and very audible from the dinning area. Many over-served bar patrons screaming loudly over a horse race. If you want to get that involved in a race , go to OTB. I had the boneless Buffalo chicken nuggets, heavily breaded and just quickly tossed in Franks red hot sauce. They forgot my daughters chicken fingers and her meal eventually showed up cold 30 min later( we had all finished our meals ). Never offered to take it off the bill.
