Stayed at Residence Inn for 9 weeks and this is the only restaurant in the hotel. Went here only once to know not to come back. Let me explain. Came in on wednesday at 7:30 pm. The first thing you see is the bar. I went to the left and sat down at one of the tables. After a couple minutes a lady gives me a menu. After about a couple minutes I decided to go with wings and a burger. Only problem was, my server was busy serving about 6 different people at the bar. Finally after about 10 minutes I was able to order. I get my food 20 minutes later. I don't understand why it took so long when everybody just had drinks and I was the only one seated in the restaurant part. The wings(6 for $15) were just ok. I got honey old bay flavor. The flavor itself was good but the wings were not cooked all the way for the middle part was lukewarm. The Charm Cheeseburger($20) a half pound beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on a brioche bun. I wanted bacon added which was 2 dollars more per the menu. The burger itself was actually decent and it comes with potato wedges. They forgot to put the bacon in there but I didnt want to wait for the server to let her know and then wait again just for bacon. At least they didnt charge me for it. Service, or lack there of was atrocious. Every period in between interactions took a long time. In closing, I spent 35 bucks plus tax and tip for bad service and overpriced mediocre food. My co worker had drinks here one night and told me it was way overpriced. If you want good food and/or drinks then go next door to the Water Street Tavern. Their food and service is great there. Good afternoon, I visited Sopranos on my birthday, and the food was good. Today (December 1, 2023), my colleague offered me a belated "birthday" lunch. I recommended Sopranos. He ordered on-line. I was distraught to hear of the unprofessional service that was encountered. Sopranos' website states that there was a delivery fee of $5.99. My colleague waited for 30 minutes for the order to be delivered (less than a mile from the office). He picked up the food, and inquired about reimbursement for the delivery; charged for food that was not delivered. The server denied Sopranos having a delivery service. I understand that Soprano's will have mixed reviews regarding food, service and ambiance; however, I will not recommend Sopranos to anyone. I recently dined at the 17th Light Restaurant with a group of 10 friends, which is located inside the Marriott. The restaurant was close to where we were staying, and one of the few places that we didn't have a wait to get a table. We were seated right away with menus, our orders for both drinks and meals were not taken until 10 to 15 minutes later. This should have been a sign that the service was going to be slowwww. Our drinks came out within 5 minutes, which was the quickest thing of the night. The majority of our group ordered burgers, which should be a fairly quick meal to prep. Four of our ten meals where delivered about an hour and fifteen minutes after we were seated, the next four came fifteen minutes later. Apparently two of them were completely forgotten and not even cooked- which meant an even longer delay. The meals all had the potential to be delicious, if only a little effort was put in. All of the fries were cold, orders were messed up, hamburgers were missing toppings... and they worst part? The burgers were extremely under cooked. Four of the burgers were ordered as Medium Well, and came out rawer than rare- disgusting (see my photos). They were somewhat edible, but one burger was so raw, that we had to send it back (with the slow service, it wasn't even replaced). The waiter was apologetic, blaming the delay on a server not showing up to work. Clearly this was a problem in the kitchen. It was shocking to me that the manager on duty made no attempt to apologize. I finally asked to speak with her (Brianna), and was baffled in her lack of professionalism. During my conversation with the manger, she kept doing menial tasks and would not talk to me directly. After I asked her to adjust the bill, she had to call another manager, who offered a 35% discount. I asked for the raw burger that was sent back to be taken off and was rudely told no. I asked to speak to the manager on the phone myself, and was again rudely told no. Finally the hotel manager (Chasity) on duty become involved, and was the complete opposite of Brianna. She was professional and kind, and delivered the kind of service that I would expect. Chasity helped us remove the raw burgers, split the bill, and apply the 35% discount to everything. I am disappointed in the service and meal I received here, but even more disappointed that a great brand like Marriott would let themselves be associated with such a horrible place. read more

I came here to meet my sister for her lunch break. She commented that we should pick our food quickly because generally the food takes awhile to come out. We ordered immediately and it didn't take too long. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Wrap (maybe it was mahi mahi?) and it was great. I opted to get the sweet potato tots as a side and it was a good addition. Wow. Stay away from this place. Went on a week night and it seemed very understaffed. Poor staff was running around trying to do multiple things and I heard some people complaining that the dishwasher is broken? What kind of bar/restaurant has a broken dishwasher? I also asked for the manager at one point and I swear she had absolutely zero management experience. To be honest, it's more believable to say she was pretending than to think she's a real manager. While on a conference in Baltimore, we decided to meet a colleague who was staying in the residence inn and she suggested the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a terrible suggestion. First of all, on a cold rainy night, you don't want to walk into a restaurant to have dinner, only to find out you have to keep your jackets on because it is colder inside than outside!! Secondly, even though there were like two other customers, the service was excruciatingly slow. I decided to order a crab soup to get warm and a blackened tuna wrap, both of which were awful. The soup tasted like canned crushed tomatoes mostly and I was not warned that it was going be spicy. The tuna was super cold and grossly under seasoned. The wasabi aioli was watery and kept spilling everywhere and it was quite tasteless. All in all, a bad experience. I would have enjoyed a subway more! read more

Ordered the shrimp tacos because they were out of chicken. Yup, a major chain's restaurant ran out of chicken, at lunch. Took a bite, not good. Second bite, sent them back. Ordered something else? Nope. My coworker made jokes about his chicken tenders (probably frozen) and tater tots. Yes, you can be 7 years old again. Just order the tater tots. What an utterly disappointing experience! The only reason I am even giving this restaurant a review is due to the politeness of our understanding server. It was so difficult for me to even give this establishment(not that it's established) a star. My friends and I (a party of 10) chose to eat at this restaurant on a Saturday evening, upon which we entered around roughly 6:10 pm. It was difficult for us to find a place to seat is quickly, due to the Ravens playoff game, but we were quite surprised to be sat down almost immediately. Barely half the restaurant was seated so our odds for quick service were looking up, wrong! After being seated, neither of the servers could figure out how to work the TV screen to get the Ravens game on, leaving the devoted fan in our party highly disappointed. Our orders were taken pretty quickly, at about 6:20. This is where things took a turn for the worst... Since we had 10 people in our party we were prepared to give our server both our drink and meal orders. He seemed very confident, a little rushed, but very kind. We were served our drink at about 6:45. We ordered 10 waters, 2 beers, and 1 glass of wine. Not difficult. Well we sat, and we waited, and we waited. FINALLY at about 730 the first few meals came out, 4 total. Fries were cold, sides and toppings were missing, and hungry waiting diners were sorely disappointed. About 10 minutes later the next 4 meals came out, of which fries were cold, avocados were browned, and sides were missing. Then we came to find out that the kitchen cooked 1 burger wrong and forgot the other(mine). As we waited for the those 2 meals and other began to eat, we came to find that all our 'medium-well' burgers were PINK! When I say pink, I mean way past rare and all the way to barely defrosted and still mooing. Absolutely disgusting! (See my pictures) Finally the last 2 came out, which you'd expect to be perfect by this point, but they were the rarest of them all. I didn't even eat my dinner. Finally, my friend decided to speak up and deal with the matter. The restaurant blamed it on a missing server, but last time I checked the servers aren't the ones cooking the food. And for the record, I was in the restaurant industry for 6 years and at a banquet of over 200 people we had bread out in 5, salad out in 10, meals out in 20. Granted we had like 10 servers, but that's still 20 people to a server, that's double out dining party. My friend was finally able to negotiate a deal with the hotel manager, after the restaurant manager had an attitude about the entire situation. As we left with comped and discounted meals, I noticed that others diners in the restaurant did not look pleased either. We were just happy to finally leave after spending 2 hours and 15 minutes in that restaurant and get on with our evening. Oh, and did I mention that it was my birthday? After a business dinner was cancelled at the last minute I was in no mood to venture out of the hotel. Happy hour was over so this venue was dead. There is a good selection of draft beer with real nice local amber. Interesting menu that covers the full spectrum of Apps, salads and entrees. I opted for the buffalo chicken wrap and subbed a side salad in lieu of fries. My only complaint was that the buffalo chicken was not spicy but that was solved with a side of jalapenos. My side salad was pretty big but had minimal veggies and was 80% lettuce.. Just a nit.. Service was AOK as I was their only customer for most of my visit. All in all a good experience... read more

I went here for lunch during work and I can't wait to go back. I went in, sat at the table and the waiter quickly came over with a menu and asked if I wanted a beverage. He came back with my beer and gave me an appropriate amount of time to decide on my meal. I ordered the Cobb salad and it was UHmazing! Fresh greens, perfectly boiled eggs, the chicken and bacon were cooked to perfection and the dressing was so flavorful. I can't wait to go back to try something new. 17th light and lounge is located inside the Marriott at the corner of light. They are a bit under lit but it was nice the day I went since it started snowing. I ordered the red wine sangria but it wasn't as rich as I expected. It was a bit light and he added maraschino cherries. err.. The Old Bay wings was worth it though. Piping hot and crispy wings sprinkled with Old Bay to give it a kicker. Dogfish Head Battered Fat Onion Rings with spicy ketchup was wonderful. The batter was nice and thin and the onion rings were nice and juicy! The special that night was sesame crusted seared tuna salad. It came with both a side salad AND seaweed salad...what? Both were great though but the sesame crust for the seared tuna was way too thick and took away the taste of the seared tuna. read more

So I've been staying at the residence inn for 2 nights now. This is the restaurant in the hotel. I've had the bang bang shrimp, burger sliders and tuna appetizers. All were excellent. Couple that with $4 wines and beers for happy hour and this place is a winner! Don't be put off that it happens to be in a hotel. We were staying at the Residence Inn in the Inner Harbor and stumbled upon Light 17 as they were in the lobby of the hotel (well attached to the lobby of the hotel). We had some time to kill before we were going to go out and explore for the night. What made this place, was the staff. The bartenders were so nice and friendly. They were attentive and fast to serve (even when we were checking out and they had POS system problems). We only got an app, we got the sweet potato tater tots with crab and cheese... awesomely filthy! So good. Cannot wait to have them again. First off, I would recommend the Residence Inn, but also Light 17... it is nice to have an option attached to your hotel! read more

Came here for lunch with a group and they serve subpar hotel-chain like food. My turkey burger was not good at all. It was a weird combo of sauteed spinach, roasted red peppers and goat cheese- it could have been good in a cold sandwich but with a hot turkey patty, it was borderline nasty. The turkey patty was burned black on the outside and the veggie combo did not work together at all. I ate a quarter and brought the rest home, but will probably not eat it! The sweet potato tater tots with melted marshmellow served with a butter/maple syrupy dipping sauce was interesting and decent. read more

This place is pretty laid back and has plenty of TV's to watch sports (or the DIY network). The food is probably one of the top 10 "bar foods" I have ever had. I highly recommend the 17th salad- its excellent. Also, after reading another review on here, I decided to try the Olde Bay wings, and let me tell you, they were pretty good. They are obviously provide a different taste than the original hot wing- but they are definitely delicious. I wold recommend getting a glass of water with them as the seasoning itself is pretty salty- but the wings are lightly battered in the seasoning so it's not overbearing. The two waitresses that were working we're constantly running back and forth and provided great service. They were very attentive and made sure everyone was taken care of. If you are in the Baltimore area (city center), and are looking for a quick bite while watching a good game on tv- come here. It's minutes from the inner harbor (and I mean walking distance minutes). read more

I didn't know wings could be so amazing!!!! I can only review the things I ate and what I ate deserves more than 5 stars. We came in for a light dinner and beers before a concert. Near our hotel was this little place.... it had cold beer and crabcakes, so we thought we'd try it. SO GLAD WE DID!!! We each ordered a cold Yuengling draft and a crabcakes appetizer, and the Old Bay wings. I'm not a big crab cakes person, so my review has nothing to compare. I loved them, they were delicious. Lightly fried, huge crab chunks, not a lot of filling. I mean if you do bad crab cakes in Baltimore.... get out of town!! Now on to the wings. After the first order.... they were so good we ordered another. So much for a light dinner!! They were really meaty, not all bone, several bites per wing. They were perfectly crispy, but the meat inside was tender. And the Old Bay dry rub..... OMG!! Yes they made me talk like a teenager..... the taste was WOW!!!!! I've been craving these wings..... too bad I live 500 miles away. Now my previous favorite wings pale in comparison. Can't believe this place is a hotel bar, don't let that scare you away. Went here when it was snowing out, because I was staying at the Residence Inn hotel and it was in the lobby. The food wasn't particularly great - but not horrible either. We recently stayed at the hotel that was attached to the restaurant and dined in our first day. The lunch selection was great for what we were looking for. I and my daughter had the Lite Burger, it was delicious and RIGHT SIZED. My son had the crab cake sandwich and thought it was very good. The restaurant is small in size, however, the seating was very nice and cozy. The loft-like decor made for an enjoyable experience. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because of the bar service. It was very slow because there were only two servers there at 4:30p. I would definitely visit here again though. read more

Ok, I won't lie. This was a last minute switch after bailing on our first choice. We were desperate as we had a show to make. VERY low expectations. Wow, were we surprised. The food was actually very good for a bar/restaurant in a hotel. The service was a little spotty but I think they were short. But it was friendly unlike the first place. Wow. This is basically a bar. We arrived at 9pm and there were two servers "waiting on" three tables. No one came to seat us, so we sat ourselves. Simple dinner of apps and drinks took 90 minutes. Service was absolutely lacking and we were told as we left, that they were closing down the restaurant for renovations and we were their last shift. Hence the two waitstaff were comping everyone's check that night. I sure hope the manager was in on this. The staff here is very friendly! They have a decent happy hour from 4-7 Monday -Friday. Food is good, some of it is over priced. That's just because it's in the hotel (Marriot). Great menu! Portions are huge and the drinks taste great. Cocktail menu is modern and has some nice offerings. Staff was nice and attentive. I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was poor and I felt that my money nor my presence were appreciated. My colleagues and I were seated and ignored. We sat in the middle of the room, yet the staff acted as if we were not there. We sat at the table with water and no menus. This was interesting because everyone else who was seated, was taken to their seats with menus. When we requested menus, we with were met with attitudes and we waited until two staff members finished their corner pow wow. We watched several people who came in after us enjoying their lunch, and when we asked about our food again we were met with side eyes and bad attitudes and told "your food is coming." The waitress had the nerve to say she would give us a discount or we could cancel the order. We chose to cancel the order and take our business to a restaurant that appreciates us. read more
