This place is not as previous postings would leave one to believe. I had chosen this place based on two things: Yelp postings/ ratings and the menu. I wanted breakfast. According to our server, What we got was a "new menu and there was no longer breakfast." That said, our lunches ranged from good to very good. We shared fried green tomatoes- you get the whole tomato, coating was good, and the accompanying sauce was tasty. I had a BLT. It was fine. The men in our group really liked their burgers and my dad enjoy his crab bisque which seemed "bottomless" and had an acceptable amount of crab. He also had hush puppies. While they were good but not great, he liked the presentation of the two together. While I am on the fence about returning, the men in our group are ready to go back soon. If we go back, I would get the fried green tomatoes and crab bisque.

Steamed shrimp, also a hit and the broccoli slaw was 10/10!

Service was top notch. The chicken tenders and waffles with mambo sauce was out of this world. The very best tenders I've ever had

We happened to be in Tappahannock, VA on a Monday evening celebrating our nephew's birthday and, by…read morechance, ended up at 528 Italian American Restaurant, and we're so glad we did. We had a party of 10, and they were incredibly quick to accommodate us. From the start, the service stood out. Our server worked hard throughout the evening to ensure everything was smooth and that we had an excellent dining experience. The food was fantastic. A few of us ordered the 40 oz. Tomahawk steak with shrimp and two sides, and it was easily one of the best steaks I've had. While $120 is definitely an investment, it was well worth it, the meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The sauce on the side complemented it nicely, the sides were delicious, and the presentation really elevated the entire dish. It's also large enough to easily feed two people. Others at the table enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the surf and turf special (ribeye and shrimp for $40), a fish sandwich, and a ribeye steak and cheese. Everything that came out looked and tasted great. They also brought out complimentary bread with a homemade dipping sauce, which was a nice touch. You can tell they take pride in their food--we got the sense that much of it is made in-house. We also tried a few desserts, and they did not disappoint. The carrot cake, in particular, was one of the best I've had. Inside the restaurant was large and looked like they could host banquet and parties. We even had the opportunity to meet and talk with the owner, Tony, and were impressed by his background and passion for what he does. Overall, we had a great experience, and most importantly, our nephew had a wonderful birthday celebration. We will definitely be stopping back in the next time we're in the area.

They didn't even mind when mom lost track of her end of the leash and her dog wandered into the dining room proper. Pinky just walked him back out to the patio and asked if anyone was missing anyone. The restaurant has a pretty low/relaxed vibe. So low/relaxed that I thought the two people at a dining table who let me know that the porch was open for service were customers. Oh! The paper place settings have little tidbits on Virginian trivia and history. For our dining enjoyment, we went with a couple of orders of burgers. I thought my burger was pretty tasty, especially with the restaurant's special BBQ sauce. Also, I thought the portion sizes were pretty generous for the price. The only very minor issue (as of March 2026) was that the restaurant did not have its liquor license, so we could not order a round of beers go accompany our burgers. Other than that small detail, we had no problem with the restaurant. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that service was pretty good, and the prices were pretty reasonable.

There is ample parking available, and despite being located right off the golf course, the restaurant is pretty easy to access. Walking in, you're able to seat yourself with a variety of options (low top, high top, and bar seating available). Our server was prompt and kind, the menu was quite expansive, and there were multiple options to please anyone in a large group. I ended up getting the corn beef hash platter, which came on a sizzling pan topped with a heaping portion of fried potatoes and corn beef and topped with eggs cooked to your preference. It also comes with a side of bread, I decided on a biscuit which was fantastic, buttery and fluffy. My breakfast partner ended up ordering off the lunch menu, getting a tuna sandwich, which also came with a heaping portion of tuna salad between two slices of buttered bread. They shared that it was a decent sandwich but not as good as other places. Overall, Prince Street Café is a great brunch/lunch spot, with the advent of spring this would be a lovely place to enjoy some sun and good eats!

It did not disappoint. Good atmosphere, sitting right off a golf course. There was plenty of parking as well. We were seated right away. The waitress was very efficient and knew the menu well, never getting our orders wrong. I decided on the baked French toast, topped with apples and a side of bacon and coffee. My daughter decided on the seafood omelet and cinnamon French toast. Everything was delicious. No complaints from me. They also have an all you can eat buffet if you like. It was a great ending to our reunion. I would recommend Prince Street Cafe at Hobbs Hole and would definitely go back!
