This place is awesome! Aside from the worst parking ever, accessibility was great. As a disabled person I was taken care of and made sure I was safe and was able to see the bands that I wanted too. Had an amazing time seeing LS Dunes at this venue. I appreciated how spacious it was and the space outside of the venue allowed for the line to be stretched out and in the shade most of the time. the sound and lighting were great. Not a perceived issue in sight. Every member of the staff were super friendly and happy to make the show as comfortable/fun as possible. We were particularly fortunate to speak to a couple of staff while hanging out after the show and they were extremely kind and friendly, even after a crazy show. Ray, the head of security, was so patient and personable. He chatted with us for a long time and made a great night all the better by answering all of our questions about the venue. The area is not the most highly trafficked so it's a good idea to bring a buddy and make sure to use common safety precaution but nothing outrageous. Would come back any time. read more

Came to a show and my brother had his car window smashed for a backpack in the car. Be very careful down here it is not safe and people will break into your car. I will never go back to this venue due to the area being very unsafe. read more

Dope venue They need more people at the door. I waited one hour in a dodgy part of town as did 400-500 others. Only solace was we were a big group so it was safety in numbers. Really good food and people working here were helpful and friendly. It's a warehouse set up, but having two full bars and a food bar breaks up the room and you have a view from almost anywhere in the place. Sound could be even better though for the space, and wasn't as impactful as some other spots Ive been to but I'm sure they will improve upon that over time since they are new. Mixing had real issues and the bass is kind of anemic. The area is shady AF and definitely not a spot you want to just be walking around at all. I hope the surrounding area becomes a little more happening and cleaner, but doesn't seem to be a desirable spot for businesses. The door is really the biggest issue. One guy said he was on a guest list and the ONLY door man STOPPED taking tickets and went inside to check the guest list. They NEED more staff so people feel like the venue has a grasp on things rather than all of us waiting to seek refuge inside while dudes scout out the right cars to break into. Also no way in HELL am I ever driving and parking my own car anywhere near there. read more

Don't drive here. No venue parking, only street parking, and big problem with cars being broken into. Also, this place is just a warehouse. Sound is terrible. Ventilation bad, inside temperature hot. He went above and beyond by giving us waters to save our alcoholic butts and making great conversation with us! Went here for a show last night and the place seemed cool initially. I ordered a couple beers, then I needed water so I went up to the bar to ask for a cup of water. The bartender said they only sell bottled water, no cups. Okay... So I ordered a bottled water and a well drink and the total was $26. I asked how much the water was and they said $8!!! I said no way I am paying for that and the bartended just said, "We don't make the prices". That's insane and so irresponsible to not even offer water cups and to price gouge bottled water like that. I ended up filling up a cup in the bathroom sink, which was hot tap water. So gross. read more

Mike the bartender absolutely ruined mine and my friends experience at this place. First of all, drink prices were inconsistent and absurd ($22 for a vodka soda BEFORE TIP). And then this little man child miscalculates my friends tab, walks over to us and rips the drink from her hand and throws it. This loser decides to get in my face and throw a tantrum about how we just got "half a beer for free". Luckily the head of security, Ray, was awesome. Highlight for sure. I have to take the time to recognize the security staff and especially the head of security, Ray. My brother who was visiting from out of town, had a complete breakdown during a show at 1720 last night. Had it not been for Ray's kindness and empathy, I don't know how the night would've turned out. Ray allowed my brother to eventually fully recover outside by providing water and made sure we got home ok. Even the small detail of pouring Coca Cola in a water bottle so my brother wouldn't cut his mouth on the can, will not go unappreciated. I went to a metal concert last night, first time I'd been there. Loved the venue and its mission - to provide a place where we can see diverse acts with ticket prices that don't break the bank and have fun, provides a solid venue for performers. There's no question it's in a dodgy area, but I did take the metro, which drops you off two blocks away. The walk over was scary, but it was my first time, I was alone, female, and the street was completely empty except for homeless trailers. Not something normal people would probably do. I wasn't accosted, and when I asked the security guard whether it was as dangerous as it had felt, he said "no, lots of homeless but they don't mess with people." Anyway, I had a great time upon arrival. Everyone friendly. Drawback - hardly anywhere to put one's drink while eating or sit. read more

Before we went I looked at reviews and they said that the staff was real friendly. I thought, okay? We got there early, parked right next to the building. My son was in a wheelchair. We were waiting in line, and a real big guy named Ray came by. He worked there. He said to come with him and he was going to get us seats and we'll have the best seats IN THE HOUSE. I thought great... He got us in there and We had the best view in the house like he said. Not only did he get me a chair, He got my son and I a water. Great customer service. Everyone there treated us great, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend to go TO A SHOW THERE AT 1720 and say hi to Ray. He's the best. He was our hero that night. read more

Great venue! Plenty of street parking. The reviews that mentioned homeless people everywhere seem a bit extreme as I didn't see any. Cops do circle this area about 3 times at least while I was here so it seems very safe. Outside the venue it's not super clean, but inside is what matters and the venue's great and has 2 bars that serve alcoholic beverages and there was also food served the night I was there. Automatic is one of my all time favorite bands!! in 2020, they're at the top of my list and I was infatuated with their performance last night!! Just blew me away!!!! Thanks girls you sooooo rock! I pray you all go mainstream REAL soon!!! Also, I discovered a new band!!! Shopping is a band I've never heard of and they were terrific! They're from the UK and reminded me of the 80s. A mix of thompson twins, B-52s, culture club, and wham maybe? with a very minute sound from rage against the machine. read more

Don't let the location deter you, 1720 my go-to spot for a great rock show, dance party or hip hop event - particularly the monthly party Heav3n. The sound is superb. There's always room to order at the bar. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Head of security Ray valiantly went above and beyond recently after I'd lost my phone and helped my girlfriend and I get home safely, and I still can't thank him enough. This is easily in my top 5 LA nightlife spots. read more

The venue is spacious and gives ample room for you to dance, mosh, stagedive, or groove like an epileptic centipede. Staff is great. I took off one star because the location is not in an optimal neighborhood. If you come early enough, you can snag a spot right in front of the venue, but otherwise you'll have to park along the dark streets around the building where the homeless like to set up their encampment. If you're going alone, especially as a female, try to ask venue security to walk you back to your car, and PLEASE exercise all caution when you're in this area. Make sure no ones in your car, lock the doors when you get in, etc. Stay safe! read more

Recently I lost my wallet and for the life of me could not get in contact with the venue or the party host. I contacted them on social media, email, phone and I didn't get a response for over a week. I showed up the week after and I asked the security guard, Ray, if I could go to the lost and found because I lost my wallet. And this gem of a human being told me that he had been guarding it for me and went back inside and came out with my wallet. Oh I was so grateful to Ray and still am. Everything about this club was horrible accept the head of security Ray. Ray was hilarious, so sweet and made us all feel so safe. He made my night. The bar tender Mike on the other hand was a complete asshole and charged my friend for 2 beers instead of 1, he started screaming at us and ended up throwing a cup of beer at us and flipped us off. Love this place!! It's small and perfect. If the show is sold out be ready to be crammed. Drinks are pricey ($15 for a beer) but that's normal for a small place. If you want to drink I suggest drinking before or be ready to pay up. There is two bars and a small smoking patio if you want to get some air. It's a really cool place to see a show, the sound was good and on point. Staff and security were cool. One thing I like about this place is they have a coat check ($5) so you can check your bags and/or merch you buy and you don't have to carry everything all day. Totally worth it. Shout out to the girl working the front / coat check, she did an excellent job maintaining all the chaos at the end and kept everyone's stuff safe. It's not in the best area and parking is limited so I suggest getting a ride. I wouldn't walk the area at night; during the day might be ok. I will definitely be back! read more
