The food was delicious! We had butter chicken masala, chicken shahi korma and another delicious curry with shrimp. Each had a unique, complex sauce and a fantastic blend of spices. Garlic naan was great too. The prices were reasonable and comparable to nearby Indian restaurants, but the ambiance was far nicer and they have a full bar and fun music. We will be back. read more

And what happens when you order spicy peanuts and it has no taste because the peanuts are stale. And your fish curry has only a few small pieces? This place is a ripoff...you don't get your moneys worth. Stay away. And what happens when you order two orders of Daal and you get some thing with 2 inches of water on top? The only good thing was the Mango lassi but it was in a teeny tiny glass. For 25 percent of what I spent here, I go next door to the chat place and have a satisfying meal. In an attempt to try as many new places as possible, I created a "want to try" collection here on Yelp. Every week, I make my husband pick a number 1-(however many restaurants are on the list). This week he picked this one. So off we went! It was a struggle, because he hates going north on 465. We got there about 10 minutes before they were open, and it was dark and gloomy inside, husband was skeptical. Right at 5pm, the sign was flipped and the lights were on, so in we went. The staff were quite gracious and welcoming. We ordered drinks and samosas. They were amazing. I ordered the New Delhi butter chicken and husband ordered something called lasuni. We also got an order of saffron rice and some garlic naan. It was all very good. My husband's chicken had an amazing grilled flavor that was fantastic. I have had a hard time getting my husband to an Indian spot, and I finally found one he's willing to go back to. read more

Nice atmosphere to the restaurant. We had the chili 1947 paneer which was delicious and very flavorful.

Really nice ambience. We hopes to have live music on Friday but I guess that day it was canceled. Peanut masala and angara tandoori chicken was really good. The star of the dinner was the garlic Naan, which was absolutely buttery, garlicky and really soft and good. We requested the butter chicken to be spicy which was a little too spicy but tasted authentic. It's a good place to taste authentic Indian food with great service. read more

I'm so happy 1947 exists in this spot and is close to home. The strip mall area near Best Buy has been renovated and thr interior here is modern and clean. We came in with a table of 4 and found the service to be very good. There are a variety of servers who speak varying levels of English, but we didn't have any issues ordering. The menu is a good size and not overwhelming like some international restaurants. Everything we tried was great! We especially loved the corn appetizer. All of us kept eating it and said we would come back just for that. I'm absolutely not the person to decide if this food is authentic to the cuisine and particular region, but I found everything to be tasty and fresh. I will be back! read more

Been here since 7:40 PM, Seated right away got appetizers within 20-30 mins. We ordered our main course right away as well and it's almost 9:30 and they just brought out the food after telling us 10-15 mins each time asked for the time we were waiting. I've never seen a slower service read more

Also, if you have a nut allergy, beware - most of the dishes will not work for you, but the chef was accommodating to my companion and made her chicken separately! Tonight I decided to try 1947 Eatery and Lounge, an Indo Chinese fusion restaurant. I had the Manchow veggie soup, perfect on this cold evening and something I can see myself getting everytime. Then I had Old Delhi Butter Chicken. Also great, perfect heat. Needed a little salt to me but I'm a saltaholic. Totally recommend! Next time I'll try the Chinese Bhel! read more

We ordered the Golgappe Shots as an appetizer - these little fried balls are served with various flavors of liquid - so different and fun to eat. As a group we ordered: Garlic Naan & Cheese Naan (both amazing), Schezwan Noodles (lots of veggies), Butter Masala with Fish (fish was cooked perfectly), Parsi Lamb Curry (great flavor combination - lamb could have been a little more tender), and the Jeeraj Rice (a hint of flavor). If you love Indian food this is the place to go! When we walked in you could immediately smell the amazing food being prepared. This was our first time so we tried several dishes. The bun on the chicken sliders was pillowy and light and had a slightly sweet flavor that paired perfectly with tandoori chicken. So delicious!! The butter chicken was perfectly spiced and creamy and melted in your mouth. The spicy chicken curry had some heat but, the flavors of the curry spices came through and was really good. We had lemon rice, which had a spicy kick from red chilies, and the saffron rice. Both were really good but, I preferred the lemon rice. The garlic naan was super good. Crispy and chewy on the outside but, soft on the inside. I ordered 2 slices not knowing it would be such a large portion but, I'm not complaining. . The dessert reminded me of deep fried donut holes in a thick syrup. They were served piping hot but, you really couldn't tell until you took a bite. We went around 6:00 on a Friday evening and unfortunately the restaurant wasn't busy but, did start to pick up. Service was fantastic and live music started to play before we left. read more

AMAZING Indian restaurant! I went there with family including in-laws visiting from India. Everyone loved the food and the ambiance of the place. Taste and quality of the food reminded me of India. For appetizers: we ordered Chinese bhel, Tandoori chicken, golgappe shots, namkeen shots. For main course: Butter chicken, Paneer lababdar and Lahori malai chicken murg. For dessert: Kulfi, molten lava cake! We were so busy enjoying the food that we forgot to take the pics of the appetizers and main course. I only remembered to take pics of the desserts.. I kept driving past and the signage made me curious. The building itself is pretty inconspicuous on the outside, but nicely decorated inside. Very nice vibe, the service is amazing and food was so good! The servers kept our water filled without question, and made sure we had everything we needed. Took me some time to figure out where it was because the parking lot in front of them was being constructed. But the place looks great and well lit. They've opened just 12 days ago. The food choices were great. I had the golgappa shots which were fun to have. Also had the "sliders" which was basically pav bhaji. The bread had some fish smell but I'm sure if you told them you're veg only they will make sure to fry it non fish oil. I didn't mind the smell much. Then the butter chicken and paneer lababdar had a great taste. It didn't taste like the typical Indian restaurant gravies (which I always feel they make the same gravy for all) but this restaurant really made the gravies taste authentic. The food, the service, it's very clean and I love that the staff wears the Indian shirts as part of their dress code. We had Samosas with potatoes to start, it comes with two sauces, Old Delhi Butter Chicken, Navabi Lamb Chops, Garlic Naan, Amritsari Chole, and Jeera Rice. The Delhi Butter Chicken was excellent, and the vegetable korna was very good, but the vegetables looked like the frozen mixed vegetables you get from the grocery store, rather than fresh vegetables. Also, we ordered our food "mild," and it was much more spicy than mild. I like spicy food, so I could tolerate the spice, but my wife couldn't eat it. When I asked the server for a drink menu, he just asked me what I wanted, and I told him I wanted to look over the menu to see what they have. Apparently, they didn't have a drink menu, because he again asked me what I want. I said I'd like a white wine, and he said they have Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio. I ordered the Chardonnay, but it tasted like a very inexpensive brand. I'd visit this place again, but avoid the wine and mixed vegetable dishes. read more
