Visited 1983 this past Saturday and it was a disappointment. Aside from inflated prices, the food was pretty good, but we were hassled by the staff for staying longer than 2 hours. They promote watching the college football games, but limit you to two hours? We were continually ordering food and beverages, but that didnt matter. If you dont want to cater to at the football watching crowd, then why have all of those TVs at every table? Sporting events last more than 2 hours... Why are you marketing yourself to the sports watching crowd, but then pull this nonsense? Overpriced food and drink combined with bad attitude is not a recipe for success. read more

The food was ok but too pricy!! Ordered a White Russian that I found disgusting to my taste! It was made with some type of expresso coffee with whole beans in the glass and not Kahlua or some other coffee liqueur. The waiter stated they did not have Kahlua. I was not impressed!! read more

Had a great time! The food was great, and I love the restaurant concept. I highly recommend the fried green tomato appetizer and the meatloaf main. I will definitely be back!!! Arcade was fun, and I loved the golf simulator. The staff was friendly, and Hannah and Cas were great. The service was top-notch. read more

Jess was a fabulous bartender. We had drinks and an appetizer. This may be the best soft pretzel that I've ever had. The mustard, green chili aioli and fondue were good. However, the pretzel needed none of these to stand out. Definitely will be back on the next trip! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Night started out positive with parking right in front, but quickly deteriorated. While paying our bar tab while waiting for our table to open up, I noticed a line item called Fee Total on the tab. When I asked what this was, the bartender told me that it was a "venue fee" to pay for the gaming area I am assuming. Was never told an exact reason. It was only $1.25 but come on, in this age of nickel and diming people, this put a bad taste in my mouth off the bat. Little did I know that would be the best taste I had all night. Ordered the zucchini fries to start, how do you eff up zucchini fries? Welp they figured out how. If you could find zucchini in them I'll pay for your dinner there. Sad part was these were the best thing we had all night. I then asked the server if the roasted chicken was a half chicken, to which she said yes. Well it wasn't, it was a breast with a wing bone in it. Ok I can deal with that. First bite? Complete rubber texture and zero flavor. The creamed corn under the rubber chicken was even worse. Looked like Chef puked on the plate. Reminded me of the puke scene from the Great Santini. GF had the tuna "poke" bowl. Only thing it poked was my gag reflex when I tried it. Was completely tasteless and mushy. In fact I'm not sure how she even ate it. She took half of it home and needless to say the next day was even worse. I will place bets on what lasts longer the Lightning season or 1983. My bet is the Lightning. You're better off going up the street to Beef o Barfy's. read more

This is the second time I have eaten at this restaurant and both experiences have been terrible. The first time I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and it was mediocre at best and we made a reservation for a large group and they split it up between inside and outside. The second time I met some friends here to have a couple of drinks during the Bucs game and they would not pull up an extra chair for our friends that came in a little late. They were extremely unaccommodating and rude to a large group who would order a lot of food and drinks. They kicked us out 5 minutes after we paid our tab. The prices are extremely high for a sports bar and you can get much better food and drinks at a place to watch a game for a much better price. Don't mind paying money for a good meal but this food is not quality at all. read more

Had to wait over 20 minutes for 2 cookies that came with the kids' meal. I asked the waiter what was taking so long, and he said he would check on it, but nothing. The meals were pretty good, and the kids liked the game room. I will not be rushing back. read more

I've struggled for the last 2 weeks but have to leave a bad review. Been there 3 times now. Atmosphere is fine (outside is great). Kids obviously love the arcade. Food - just bland and the burger I had was horrible. I should have sent it back but I'm the guy that just deals with it. The burger still had grease on it from the flat grill. When I say grease it was the congealed fat. That can be really good but it just tasted like meat and grease. No flavor. No spice no nothing. I should not have eaten it but I was starving. Even starving it was gross. I choked it down and proclaimed to the family we'll never be back for food. They agreed. Sad because it's 8 blocks from the house and I want it to succeed. Nothing special. Ribs were not great fries were pretty good. My friends had burgers they liked but having valet for this place is weird and with the name you'd think it would be 80s themed but it's more 1880s themed. It's nothing special. read more

Beautiful inside, the servers were amazing! The only issue I had was I wanted to replace lunch flatbread choice (choices all included chicken and I'm vegetarian) with just plain cheese, red sauce. The mgr said they will do it this time but won't be able to accommodate next time. That totally turned us off to coming back. read more

Very nice place. Plenty of TVs for sports. Food was good, but not great, especially at the price point. Ordered a beer, was given the wrong one. When I pointed this out the server brought me the correct one but charged me for both. May go back, but not in a rush to do so. read more

I was hoping/expecting better. The menu is all over the map. A little bit of a lot, but nothing to make you say WOW! My biggest complaint, and this could be the demise of this restaurant, $8, yes, I said $8, for a 16 oz Coors Light!!! I do not know of any other establishment in Tampa that charges $8 for a domestic light beer! The TV's are awesome and 1983 could've been our new go to for watching the games but I will not pay $8 for a pint of domestic light beer! read more

Service was excellent. Food was average. Philly egg rolls were chewy. Smashburger was a little dry. Fries were nothing special. French dip was good but lacked flavor because there was not enough sauce or cheese. Apple and Brie flatbread was a winner. They have parking but all the spaces were blocked (and empty) for valet. Very annoying. Given these are the Steelbach owners it is surprising the food was not top notch. We checked out the arcade room which looked like a great space for hanging out with your kids. We will try it again but the approach to parking may limit our visits even though it is very close to our house. read more

Was hoping this would be great but it wasn't. Is it a sports bar? Maybe, lots of tv's on the walls but it's also decorated like a Denny's. Is it a nostalgia restaurant? I don't think so either. Not trying to be a hater but I have huge issue with this place. Food sucks.. management sucks. No one cares to make anything right. Long as they have your money! Ordered a $20 chicken Caesar salad wrap on Uber eats it with free fries to which I was able to choose the ones I wanted, along with a paid for side of the mac & cheese. My total was about $40 after Uber fee the expensive food itself tax and tip.. mind you it was an hour after they open for the day on Thursday. You would think they had it together considering it's midday on a weekday and you just opened up. Well WRONG. The wraps lettuce tasted dirty idk how to even describe the taste it was nasty. On top of that they don't care to give me the fries but gave me the Mac and cheese. Then I proceeded to to call the store to get some explanation or if I can pick up the mistake they made..I called 10+ times calls for manager called the arcade called the host stand called for reservation NO KNE WOULD PICK UP left a message and no one got back. Do your self a favor and don't go here. They clearly only are wanting money for the location it's in and care little to none about to quality of the food or the happiness of the customer. read more
