The outdoor patio was nice but when we asked for one of the dozens of heater for the table, we were told by our server that she would ask but ended up sitting in the cold the entire time. The flavoring of the steak was good but my medium rare came out with a cool, very red center. Not once did the sever come out to check and see if the meal came out correctly until about 15 minutes later. And don't let the pictures of the long, fresh green beans. Ours were more comparable to the fancy precut canned beans. I am hoping we caught them on a bad night, but unfortunately not a great first visit. read more

Every once in a while we take the long way to get out of Magnolia. We've passed this place a few times since moving to the area and finally have it a try today. Lovely and cozy venue. The service was fantastic and the menu was very diverse. We loved our meals. Burgers, omelette, and the fried steak. I was not too impressed with the nachos. The meat was way too salty. Had a extremely bad experience over the weekend with the food and service! So took family here to have a meal close to home and it took a good 15-20min just to get our drink beverages then another 40min to get the food. I told the waitress that the food came out cold and said that they can't do anything about it. The food tasted like it was cooked days before and they just reheated in the microwave. I wouldn't recommend anyone I know to come to this place and over pay for a frozen microwave dinner. Tried the Roadhouse last night on the recommendation of a friend. The weather was horrible and we were early, so we beat the crowd and took a table in the bar area, which is cozy and properly lit. We ordered drinks, an "Old Kentucky Cosmo" for her and whiskey for me. Both were generously poured. We started with the smoked artichoke dip. It had just the right amount of smoke and the chef happened by just as we were eating it and explained how he makes it. Very nice touch. Highly recommend the dip. Spinach salads with warm dressing? Couldn't pass that up. Look at the picture to see for yourself that it was perfect. I ordered the rainbow trout. It was a great plate of fish, spinach-rice and green beans. The fish was done just right. She ordered the roadhouse pasta, which had the right amount of heat for a Cajun interpretation of spaghetti, with meal andouille sausage instead of Italian sausage. We went there for my husband and mother's birthday dinner. We started off the night with some apps. - Fried Green Tomatoes ARE AMAZING. I forgot the name of mine, I think it was a coconut mojito. Didn't taste like it had much alcohol in it but it was really good. My mom's not a drinker and she drank her entire glass. Now here is the reason why I didn't give this place a 5 star. The entrees. We choose this place hoping to get a good steak. I ordered my NY Strip medium-well and it came out well done. My sister got her rib-eye medium and it was well done. She also stated that it did not taste like a rib-eye steak. I don't think the steak or quality of the steak is the greatest. Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it. We weren't disappointed! Friendly greeting at the door. Neat setup inside. Menu was more extensive than I expected! My husband and son loved the complementary monkey bread to start. I'm not a fan of pimento cheese Got the fried green beans and asparagus for an appetizer and they were absolutely delicious. Caesar salad was ok. Didn't really care for the dressing. I got the salmon and it was SO yummy! Far exceeded my expectations. Mashed potatoes were family style so we brought them home in a box. If you are looking for a beautiful location to relax with great service this is the place for you! My supper selections included trout, mixed vegetables with quinoa, and apple crisp with ice cream. A delight. The trout was plated on a slab of cut cedar lightly seasoned and very tasty. The mixed vegetables and quinoa were uniquely combined and presented as was the side salad. And the desert...yummy! The pricing matched the laid back environment and upscale richness of the architectural flare. I recommend this establishment and will return. read more

Fantastic outdoor venue for live music, they are not prepared to be successful. Food was adequate when it was finally served. Service was horrendous with the bar blaming the host, the host blaming the restaurant, the restaurant blaming google, and no they could not turn on the outdoor heaters because of the weather made them burn all the propane. 1/2 of the men's bathroom plumbing was not working and no soap was at the sink. In that the lack of propane for the heaters was blamed on the weather I gave up providing feedback to the local staff. It is a shame I can't give them 5 stars for their friendly staff and beautiful patio and 2 stars for the food. I am hoping we just caught them on an off night and will try again. Some of the friendliest staff ever and the patio was so nice. We would like to return for live music! If you sit on the patio, all drinks, including martinis are served in a plastic cup. Mine was served in a 6 oz cup and looked like a 3 oz. martini. Beer is also served in the can or a plastic cup. Ugh! We started out with the spinach and artichoke dip and the buffalo chicken egg rolls. The dip was barely warm and I am still wondering where the artichokes were. If this is homemade, find a new recipe. If it's bought for Sysco or the like, make it homemade. The egg rolls were very tasty and likely homemade. Our entire table loved the egg rolls! For our entree, we got fish and carne asada tacos. We all agreed...they were lacking in presentation! Please add some cabbage and a lime wedge! And, if you are going to serve such a small amount of fish/meat, please change the entree to serve two hearty tacos! We also all would have preferred corn tortillas, but only flour were available. The taste of the fish/meat was good, but we were so underwhelmed with the presentation and lack of condiments. For sides, we got the curly fries and fried okra. Consider fresh cut fries (even with labor, food cost is lower), as they taste so much better. I get not having fresh fried okra, but I wouldn't serve the frozen. I'd rather you offer 4-5 amazing sides than 13 potentially mediocre sides. In short, less is more! Again, we will be back! My husband took me today for breakfast and we were greatly disappointed. We made reservations, but when we got there we were told that since we were only 2 we either had to sit on a high table or upstairs in the dungeons. The other tables were only for reservations for 4 people. So we sat upstairs by ourselves, the whole time we were there. We ordered Mimosas for both. Since mine was free it came in a plastic wine glass and was mostly orange juice, while my husband's came in a glass champagne flute and had a good amount of sparkling wine. Then, when it came time to order, I ordered the Texas Size Breakfast, which has 3 eggs cooked the way you like them. I asked to have them poached and was told by the waiter they don't poach eggs. So I said "how can you not poach eggs, when you are offering eggs benedict?". So he said he would ask. When he came back he said they would poached them for an extra $1/egg. Really??? I went ahead and asked them fried over medium, since I thought it was out of line to ask extra for poach eggs. We got our breakfast, which was good, but nothing special, paid and left. This below review is extremely negative. I am not one to usually rag on a restaurant or business, but this place just flat stinks. I wish I could rate them in minus stars. My family has been to 2920 Roadhouse on 4-5 occasions, each time with various problems that make me promise myself I wouldn't be back. Unfortunately, it just happens to be convenient and I keep thinking they'll get their act together. NOPE! This last time, service was horrible! I don't mean just a little slow, I mean absolutely horrendous. The server couldn't get anything right. Amongst the VERY slow service, they brought half of my tables meals and said the others were on the way, including my child's, which didn't end up arriving until the rest of us were completely finished. We had steaks and stuff so we didn't want to wait. On top of that, the meals they did bring were before our salads. They ended up bringing those out AFTER we were finished with our entree's and half of those weren't as ordered. What really made me MAD, was the manager woman, who Ive seen every time Im there and is actually pretty rude, was visiting with obvious friends at a table next to us, and never had a clue our table was being handled so badly. She never asked how anything was or even acknowledged we were there. But I guarantee one thing, her "friends" table never had an empty drink or waited for their food, or had their food delivered in such disorganization. Everything was so horrible, we didn't even bother talking to her. And moreover, we arrived an hour and a half BEFORE what they called "Dueling Pianos" on their back patio and they made us late, even after we told our server when we arrived that we had tickets to their show. Oh, and they weren't very busy at all. We sat in the back room, where there was only 3 other tables occupied, which included the managers "friends". I'm pretty sure a married couple own this place, and I don't know for sure, but I believe the "manager woman" is one their mother's, with no idea what she should be doing. This place has great potential, but I believe they spend more time on their "events" than they do on the restaurant. And BTW, their "Dueling Piano's are anything BUT dueling. The two pianist just take turns playing old unpopular songs that doesn't get the crowd engaged at all. This time, I def won't be back. read more

The service was awful. $30 prime rib was overcooked when I ordered medium rare. Did not come with au jus and when I asked the waiter he said it wasn't given but It would be an additional cost. Ordered a salad as a side/appetizer and it came after my steak arrived. And we waited a long time to be served. The waiter seemed inexperienced and hardly came back to see how we were doing. This was our first time there and not sure we would go for a second. We expressed our concern to manager and he not once apologized. He is probably the reason the waiter is not trained correctly. So disappointed. Walk up and was blatantly obvious that no Covid precautions or distancing was happening here including the staff. Place is on a nice property and had an outdoor patio and stage for live music - would come for drinks maybe but honestly, probably not. Got our group seated right away on our reservation. This is a "comfort food" type place so do not come expecting good cuts of meat or high end anything because you will be disappointed. Lots of frozen/fried things... Ordered appetizers ( about 40 minutes after arrival since drinks took forever) They were mostly fried type things and were ok. Nothing great. Ok now dinner orders went in and came out in about 25-30 mins after that. 2 people ordered chicken fried steak( both said it was not good) 2 steaks( just ok) 1 salmon and 1 chopped steak( adequate but nothing to rave about) and 1 ordered Fried Catfish... this was a disaster. Tasted like refrozen and metallic- complained to the waitress that it was not edible and she apologized and quickly brought out one of the RUDEST managers I have ever encountered. Asked if the fish was frozen didnt know but defended his 4 star buddy chef and said he trusts him and anything he does and was arguing that he basically didnt believe my friend's complaint - his attitude and rudeness left us all with our jaws on the table. This "man" should NEVER work with customers in any way at all. He begrudgingly took the entree off the bill but we were still gobsmacked at his behaviour. Went for Cody Canada and The Departed concert (May 7, 2021), review broken down in a few aspects with specifics further below... Short Story: Outdoor seating & Concert Venue = 5 stars Restaurant & Waitstaff Service = 1 star Food Quality = 2 stars ---------------------------------------- Avg = 2+ Long Story: Very cool place to take in a concert. Plenty of trees and shade and the sound system was good. I'm a Gen X'er who'd rather sit and enjoy the music vs stand in a GA setting and we were able to get a table right by the stage to do that. One (drunk) lady kept walking up toward the stage slightly impacting the view during the concert and Management finally came made her sit down. They were understaffed (bar was slow, food service VERY slow - see below). It took 30+ minutes for the waitress to even come to our table and that was only after I went and found a manager and he told her. We were going to eat in their restaurant when we got there ~1 hour or so before the concert the hostess told us they were on a 45+ minute wait. They were offering concert goers food outside but only on a reduced menu offering. Not happy, but fine, I understood the need to streamline things. We had a 4 top. One ordered steak. I ordered an appetizer as as entree, two people had the kids shrimp and fries and we had another appetizer. It took a long time to get the appetizer (20+ minutes chips & spinach artichoke dip). It took another 20-30 for the steak and appetizer entree (Philly cheesesteak egg rolls). They did not bring the shrimp and fries entrees out at that time. After waiting 5-10 minutes, I had to go find out waitress and tell her. 20-30 minutes later they brought the shrimp and fries entrees. When we FINALLY did get the food. Everything tasted ok. Nothing spectacular, but ok. I wanted to give you guys as much info as possible although I freaking hate leaving (and reading) long reviews like this. We will go back for a concert but will NOT be eating there, or will get there earlier to try the restaurant which sounds really good based on the menu. read more

I had the tacos and I'm pretty sure they serve them on the cheap Mission tortilla's. This wouldn't be a problem if their prices were not as high as they are. If you do still plan on trying it out I would go when you aren't too hungry because chances are you will be waiting a while. When our food finally came out they were missing the side salads. They have the best onion rings here. The burgers are good, the fries are good. The onion rings steal the show every time though. I recently came across this restaurant on Yelp and read the reviews so decided to give it a go. It took a little while to finally get to the restaurant because it's a little off of the "main" roads of the city - but boy am I glad we made the drive! This place was so neat! You drive up and there is a ton of parking which is a huge plus! When you enter inside, it's like a house. So cool! The place was fairly busy but there was not a wait because the inside is so large. Our server was so incredibly sweet! We told her it was our first time here and she was so helpful and had great food suggestions. You are served complementary bread and I suggest trying the monkey bread they offer. It was super yummy! Since this was our first time, my husband I decided to order a couple of different things and give it a try. My husband ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich and requested his fries be "loaded". I ordered the burger and requested my fries to come as Parmesan truffle fries (they were AMAZING!!!!). We also ordered a side of their mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes both of which were really good! Between the great service and the food, we will definitely be back! We noticed on their menu they serve Sunday Brunch and after reading what they have to offer, I can't wait to go back on a Sunday and try it out. I've lived in Texas my entire life so I've eaten a lot of chicken friend steak in my time. I can easily say this was the worst chicken friend steak I have ever eaten. The batter was dry and chalky, the mash potatoes were dripping with grease... not sure why there was grease in them ... and they gave me a total of 6 spears of green beans all for 17.99. My glass sat empty the entire time while the wait staff chatted to each other behind me. No one cleared off the empty plates nor did they offer dessert. We left. It was sad. I was disappointed. Most restaurants these days are so loud and so jam packed with tables that you can't enjoy the company you came with but not here. Our food was perfect, the ambience was amazing and the service was even better. I highly recommend the Sunday brunch menu.....very affordable and plenty of options that are truly unique which will make this a "go to" destination from now on. To top off the experience, it began to rain hard while we were eating so the manager came to our table and offered to roll up our windows if we had cracked them before we came in. Once we were ready to leave, the owner walked all the women to their cars with her umbrella. THAT'S TRULY UNIQUE CUSTOMER SERVICE that you won't get anywhere else to match the unique menu!!
