The food was tasty, the service was great, and the place was clean. However, the portions were tiny!

The food runner was very nice and I wish we had them as our own server! The service... 2/5. All the other servers seemed great and ours took a long time to come to us for drinks/bring drinks. Someone in our party ordered a corona and it took 15-20 min for it to be brought and it wasn't super cold. At the end of the dinner she didn't bring a box like we agreed and when I mentioned it to remind her she said in a rude tone: "yeah... im bringing it in just a second". Overall, just not a great experience in that area. Everything else made up for all of that.

EZ-PZ, right? Well, not so much. We were seated near the fireplace in a busy dining room. Took forever and part of the next day to get a glass of water before putting in beverage orders in a half-full house. Put in the food orders, she wanted the chicken, I ordered the fish. She was happy, I'll just refer you to the pictures of my fish. We can be sure I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known then what I know now. So, mixed opinions on the food. Service? Pretty much slow and spotty. We gave credit for that to our server having a nearby party-time table with a lot of people, all enjoying their libations and trying to speak over each other. We could only assume the server expected a notably larger tip, maybe. All in, not the greatest use of our dining out money. Not sure we'll go out of our way to drop in here next trip in the area.

So after being shut down for a while for a "to the foundation" kitchen remodel, I figured EPIC was…read moregoing to do a big menu update with a bunch of new cool stuff. Chance to start fresh right? Well, sorta. They did add some cool new stuff, so props for that. And the service has kicked it way up since they reopened. Great folks serving. But there is still work to do. They have new plates. And they should have picked different new plates. Got a side salad and it was pretty generous. But the design of the plate has stuff falling off if you look at the plate wrong. It basically looks like the lid to something flipped over for a plate. Salad plates normally have a little room on the sides so stuff doesn't fall all over your table when you eat it. I am guessing someone thought this design looked cool without thinking about functionality. So another typical Northern Quest eating venue gaffe. They have Cubano sammiches now. Excellent! Cubanos are one of my favorite things. Except they massively overcooked it, making the bread too hard and drying out what probably would have been a great sandwich. Also, who the hell puts a Cubano in a panini press. Go see the world and find out how a proper Cubano is made ffs. I will say the onion rings at EPIC are a bajillion times better now. I feel like the food venue folks at Quest are starting to get a little more in tune with how food venues should be. Starting to. Still a lot of work to do. At least things are improving

They were nothing amazing but we were starving. We ordered our food at 5:40 pm and the onion rings came out in about 10 minutes. I ordered the fish and chips and the other meal was supposed to be pork tacos. 35 minutes pass and we finally flag down a random server because ours never came back to our table finally the fish and chips show up but not the tacos. The fish was horrible mostly breading with no seasoning (not even salt), fries were cooked well but were missing seasoning as well, the coleslaw was literally just mayo and cabbage. Another 10 minutes pass and they bring out some kind of pork salad thing so we sent it back to get the correct food. 20 more minutes go by and the "tacos" finally show up and somehow were cold and soggy. This may be our last time coming back to epic.

Sons and I gave it a go, or should I say 'to-go' because there is no actual sit down area associated with it. My half-rack looked like mummified cat ribs, but hey, they at least tasted like pork. They do give you your choice of sides, and don't skimp on the scoops. I'm glad they opened this place, because the truck stop diner section of Petro is not open on weekends (say that out loud!), and at least now truckers who take their rest periods at this location can have more than crappy grab-and-go convenience store fare, or a stale scone from Starbucks...

I've worked as a Hotel Restaurant Chef & Manager, even running my own catering business. I ordered a Steak & eggs meal togo at the Spokane Petro with The Kitchen Restaurant located onsite. First I gotta say 'What an amazing value!. Literally for only $20, a full size NY steak cooked perfectly medium with beautiful diamond grill marks. I only saw the back of the cook but he was tall with a long wrapped pony tail. He knows his business. Eggs were scrambled soft and boxed separately. I can honestly tell you that I have never got a steak that size, it was a 8 ir 10 oz steak , maybe 12 oz but it was huge! Great value. Eating on the road is not cheap and although we get paid well, over the road expenses add up. THE KITCHEN at Petro makes it affordable to eat a quality meal. Better a quality meal at $20 than a fast food that doesn't nourish and costs more in the end. Great job cook! Someone please tell him Great job...perfect medium.
