My co-workers and I came here for one of my co-worker's last day. She wanted to eat the famous garlic sauce wings from 3 Star. We had a large group of 12 people so, we did call in for a reservation for 5pm, but they weren't busy on an early Friday evening, however they had a steady stream of take out orders. The wings are always a must get here. They offer combinations of Chinese and Filipino dishes. Their portion size of food is big for the price. We ordered 3 plates of their garlic sauce wings (12 per plate), 2 plates of shrimp fried rice, 1 plate of beef chow fun, 2 order of lumpia Shanghai (20 pieces each), 2 plates of sweet and sour pork, 1 plate of garlic string beans and 1 crispy pata. That was the perfect amount that fed the 12 of us, everyone had a full belly and none to take home. Food overall was not the best, really good. Service was much better today than the last time I went when they were super packed with extreme amounts of take out orders. Had a good dining experience at 3 Star today. Will definitely come back for dine in or take out in the future when I am in the area.

3 Star Restaurant probably has some of the best, tastiest Chinese food in Vallejo. It also has Filipino dishes but we've focused on Chinese. It's a small, strip mall restaurant with plenty of parking. The decor is unique with the owner's love of Lego! Her creations are displayed everywhere in the restaurant. Every time we come in, tables are pretty full. They need more wait staff to handle the crowd. Peak weekend hours like Friday evenings are crazy busy for takeout. They are so popular sometimes their phone is turned off in order to handle the orders. So for takeout during those times, you have to go in person, wait in a long line the length of the restaurant to place an order, then find a seat or wait outside for up to an hour. Meanwhile the tables are full of customers dining. Why do people go through with this when you see other restaurants in the area empty at dinner hours? The food is good and worth the wait. We try to plan our eat-in dining at 3 Star outside of the crowded times, even coming from as far as Fairfield. Dad loves the Beef with Bitter Melon, his favorite dish that Mom used to cook. I don't think we've had a bad dish here, so order whatever you like. OK, the Tomato Beef Pan-fried Noodles is too tomato-saucy red and sugary sweet. My favorite is the Seafood Pan-fried Noodles. Their Chinese Mushrooms with Chinese Vegetables is also good, but they only have bok choy and Dad likes gai lan / Chinese broccoli. The Garlic Sauce Chicken Wings are spicy and really tasty. Next time we'll try their Garlic Chicken Wings since they look so good in photos. 3 Star's super nice owner is very sweet to 94-year old Dad, and treats him very special. Once she even gave us an extra order that a customer said was wrong because she was allergic to shrimp. She also gives us the deep fried Chinese sesame balls for dessert. Maybe everyone gets them?

I came here for an early dinner, and we had a great time!! We came right when they open for dinner, and got seated immediately. Inside is spacious with lovely lego sets displayed around the area. The family who runs the restaurant are very nice, and our food came out about 20-25 minutes after. The lumpias were solid with a good crisp and flavor. The garlic chicken wings were super crispy and the sweet sauce paired very well. I love these style of chicken wings, and 3 Star does it well! For a good price with generous serving size, we were very satisfied. There were also so many take-out orders that were happening at the same time, so I really appreciate the service being able to handle it all! I would definitely recommend!

In some ways, finding a great new restaurant is like finding a great new love affair. When you 1st hear of a place, your interest in stirred,When you see pics or videos of the food,it's like the butterflies one gets when infatuation begins. When you finally arrive at the restaurant and the food is everything you thought and hoped it would be,you get this smile that never goes away, just like a great romance. Finally when you think back to the time you spent at a restaurant and the joy and happiness it brought,it's similar to reminiscing about a beautiful time spent with a loved one. 3 Star restaurant in Vallejo is my latest love affair. I first heard about this place on social media when a few prominent food bloggers reviewed this spot and said their wings were the best wings outside of the legendary wing spot located in San Francisco. So I watched the videos and saw the pictures and I was truly excited to try them out. Well Mothers Day rolled around this year and I needed to bring an appetizer to my mothers party we were having that day in American Canyon & the idea of finally trying out their legendary dish was my entire focus. Driving down from Sacramento to get this dish wasn't the easiest of drives on a holiday but I was determined. I called my order in and as the saying goes, the worst the service the better the food-well I was pretty sure my food was going to be legendary based on that phone call. I ended up ordering both the Garlic Sauce Wings($15.95) and the Salt & Pepper Wings($15.95) This restaurant shares a decent sized parking lot with multiple tenants-so parking is not an issue. The neighborhood isn't the best part of Vallejo but I haven't had any issues yet with car security during my visits. When I arrived the restaurant was pretty busy but I noticed a worker had a full table that was full just for To-Go orders and I walked up to her and she handed me my receipt so I could go up to the cashier and pay. 5 minutes later I was in my car totally engrossed with the smell of this amazing chicken. I consider myself a true chicken wing expert and when I say these wings were pure flavor bliss-I truly mean it. The garlic sauce wings were a mix of sweet and savory and garlic with a slight spice-a wet wing experience that makes my mouth water just thinking back on. The salt and pepper wings were perfectly seasoned and a bite of that wing paired with the onion and Jalapeno toppings that come with the dish, can only be described as pure excellence. The chef truly has mastered the recipe and cooking technique on both of these dishes. Fun fact-due to various events in my life,I've had to drive to the Bay Area a few times since Mothers Day-I've been to this restaurant three times now in less than a week-I would say the love affair with this restaurant is burning quite hot at the moment.

Unfortunately for me, the wings were actually really good. Now I got to come back for it. They're super busy because they blew up on social media for their garlic sauce chicken wings. To be fair, I've never had San Tung's wings before. Now I have to try to compare them. Family owned so if you come late, they're pretty backordered from dine in, but primarily takeout it seems. The sauce is soy sauce based - salty goodness. Wish there was actually some heat (there are chili peppers, but not spicy at all). Felt like it was more decorative since it didn't add any flavor... Onions are great, wish there were more as well. Rice is charged per person, so they just gave us a bowl - presumably you can refill? We also tried the honey walnut prawns, which were okay. Not a ton of shrimp but reasonably priced. Leaned more on the tangy mayo side than sweet, would probably try something different next time instead to accompany the wings.

Saw this place on Instagram. People said it's similar to another very popular dry fried chicken place. But that place is across the Bay Bridge, so 3 Star is definitely closer. So we decided to make the drive and check this place out. As soon as we walked in, there was already a line, as expected. Decided to order their Garlic Chicken to see how it compares to the other place we've tried. It was very similar, but something about the place across the bay is better. Is the drive across the Bay Bridge worth it when you can just stay on this side and get 3 Star? That's up to you. This place is a family run business, so I definitely don't mind supporting them. Their chicken is close enough to the other place that dealing with the till and traffic, is worth just getting it here haha. Given the crowd, they were still able to get people their food fairly quickly.

We had been hearing about this spot from our friends in Vallejo for a while--they always rave about the garlic soy wings and even say they're better than San Tung in San Francisco. On top of that, former Golden State Warriors player Festus Ezeli has been here and said he loved the wings, so we had to check it out while we were in the area. When we got there, it was already busy, but we were glad we were able to get a table right away. Good thing we came when we did, because a wait started forming shortly after. We did have to wait a bit for our food, but it was understandable--they had a steady flow of call-in and DoorDash orders going out. We ordered the garlic soy wings, salt and pepper fish, and shrimp fried rice. First off, the shrimp fried rice actually had real, good-sized shrimp--not those tiny ones you sometimes get--which we really appreciated. The wings were flavor town: crispy, packed with flavor, and super satisfying. Even though you can see peppers in the dish, there wasn't really a spicy kick, which is different from San Tung, where there's usually a slight heat. That said, even without the spice, these wings absolutely live up to the hype. The salt and pepper fish was also a standout--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Overall, I can see why people compare this place to San Tung. They're both delicious, just in their own way.

I'd heard about this place before it popped off on social media, but finally tried it after seeing all this talk about the garlic sauce chicken wings. While it was good, I believe that it doesn't compare to San Tung's because it's in its own league. The wings here were less saucy, but crispy. Different flavor to San Tung's wings and I kinda wish food influencers didn't compare the two, but instead just highlighted this place for its good food and awesome decor (Lego sets!). My bf and I also tried the pineapple fried rice, which was recommended to us by my friend (Vallejo native who frequented 3 Star), the garlic string beans, and salt and pepper prawns. My favorite dish was the salt and pepper prawns, but everything was flavorful and delicious to us. The food tasted clean, not heavily oiled. We went during dinnertime on a Friday and there were a lot of phone-in and to-go orders, so they were busy. There were only like 2 people working in the front, so service was a bit slow. We didn't mind because we understood how busy they were! We would love to come again and try more foods.

Been hearing so much about 3 Star restaurant the past couple years and mostly about how they have better wings than San Tung so I had to check it out. I went with the garlic sauce wings, salt & pepper wings, and green beans. The wings were pretty good, especially the garlic sauce wings. It was crispy, sticky, and sweet just like the Dry Fried Wings from San Tung. With that being said, I felt like the flavor isn't as good and it was a tad bit too salty in my opinion. Super friendly staff and everything came out hot and fresh. It's not quite San Tung, but I definitely recommend giving 3 star a try.

GARLIC SAUCE CHICKEN WINGS. MUST. ORDER.

Little restaurant in a shopping plaza that provides a warm family vibe and good customer service! Order the GARLIC SAUCE CHICKEN WINGS! I go here specifically for this and eat it there. In my opinion, it's their specialty. The chicken flats are tossed in a tasty sticky sweet spicy glaze, dried chili peppers, and onions. Although it's tossed in a sauce, it retains its crispiness! The flavors of all the ingredients are infused to the bone! Eat this with plain steamed rice (put some sauce on top of it) and you are set! I even eat the dried chili peppers! It's so good! You don't need to travel to SF to get something that you can get in your own hometown! (I even say better!)

Always my favorite spot, never had a dish I didn't love! Lately they have been slammed since they blew up on IG and TT because of their garlic sauce chicken wings. Whenever I come in, either for dine in or to-go, they definitely try their best to get their food out as quickly as possible, but everyone should understand they are a small family run business & they definitely want their food to have quality, so please be patient. Today we ordered to-go...Chicken corn soup, crispy fried chicken, garlic sauce chicken wings, beef & broccoli, pancit miki-bihon, and steamed fish. Oh sooo good.

Today's visit was 3 Stars in Vallejo, CA. I will jump into the customer service. Upon entering the establishment, the waitress asked me whether I wanted to dine in or do a To-Go order. I said Dine-In. She sat us down--no menus, no water, no nothing. My son had to get the menu off a nearby table. We looked over at others. They were sitting down waiting for their food. There was a large party that ordered everything on the menu. They were here long before us. So there should have been some acknowledgement of my table. We were hungry and ready to eat. The wait staff kept walking around to everyone but us. No lie, I was super annoyed by the time the wait staff came to us. The young man was nice, but they only had two people waiting on tables and doing to-go orders. They've got to hire more staff. Until then, I might not visit. It didn't take long for the food to arrive to the table. The salt-and-pepper chicken was super salty. I won't order that again. The skin was super crunchy. If I make it back, I'll try the regular chicken. I needed hella water. The house fried rice was okay. Nothing special about it. It was plain. I put it in the chicken sauce I had, and it was much better. The garlic string beans were great when paired with those onions. They were crispy when you bit into them. I love those. The garlic sauce chicken was the best thing I had there. If I had to order from there, I would get that alone. It would be a great serving size for two folks. I ordered salt & pepper prawns, but they couldn't get them to the table in time for us to try them hot. Bring your own drinks. I'm not sure if they provide any. It was so packed inside the restaurant that I didn't see a soda fountain. Maybe order To-Go?

3 Star has become a local favorite in town. It specializes in Chinese and Filipino cuisine. Nothing fancy but some foods that you might eat in Filipino and or Chinese homes. I know because I am both Filipino and Chinese as well as skilled in the kitchen. My father and brother come here quite often so it's a rare occasion for me but I wanted a soup that my dad orders. The beef stew noodle soup. It's a large portion with a tasty broth and lots of vegetables and even bok choy. My only thing is normally the meat is cooked extremely tender but not quite in this case. Nevertheless i would still recommend 3 because it's reasonable in price and the service is friendly.

    Do they have buffet?

No they do not have a buffet. I was back yesterday for my second trip, their food is good.

    They do delivery?

    Yes, they do

Are there things that a vegan could eat here?

There are vegetable and tofu dishes. I don't know what kinds of oils they use, probably vegetable and peanut oils. Check the menu in the photos. I'm sure they would accommodate.

No they do not. They take visa/Mc though

Upon my better judgment, I ordered the Pot Stickers. Reviews had said too much dough, no flavor in the filling. Well, that is absolutely true and the oil tasted off. I ate one, my husband at two. There were six. I ordered the Basil Chicken only to be told they were out of Basil. I changed it to Garlic Chicken. I asked what the House Special Beef was. The owner told me it was Spicy Beef with Bok Choy. I asked if we could have extra veggies in it. She said yes. And finally the BBQ Pork Fried Rice. Food came, they looked exactly the same except one was beef and one was pork. They tasted exactly the same and the beef had no heat. The rice even tasted like the other two dishes. It all was more like a bland brown gravy instead of tasting like Chinese food. When my husband and I go out to Chinese Food, we never have leftovers. We didn't want to offend them so we got ToGo boxes. When we got home, it all went straight into the trash. My husband had a Diet Pepsi with dinner, I had my own water. With tip it was over $70.00. Two people came in to pick up take out orders, while we were there. So not much business and they definitely won't get ours again!

A 5:30 dinner on a Tuesday evening. Hong Kong Cafe appears to be the better restaurant for a…read morereasonably priced family meal. We took advantage of one of the set menus. Last time, we got the $88 dinner and added three dishes. This time, I ordered the $168 dinner. I found out after I placed the order that instead of picking from the left side for the less expensive menu and the right side for the more expensive menu, we can select from either side for either menu! We also added one dish because my wife insisted that we needed more veg! Our server presented us with a bowl of House Soup. It was a great way to get our stomachs ready for the deluge of dinner about to happen! Whole Roast Duck - 3 - We had dinner the previous night at another Chinese restaurant and had a Peking Duck. It was odd that the Peking Duck was more moist than our Roast Duck. Yes, the fatty parts were fatty but the non-fatty parts were dry. Braised Beef Stew - 4 - Lots of beef. Excellent sauce. Missing Tendons and Daikon. Honey Walnut Shrimp - 3 - Even under the flavor of the sauce, I could tell that some of the shrimp weren't as fresh as they should be. No one else said anything so I let it go. Peking Rib - 5 - If I drank beer, this would be an excellent dish to nosh on while doing so. Crispy Fried Flounder - 4 - The flounder was okay, but the fins and tail didn't get super crispy so we could enjoy them as chips. The other thing that may have made it better for us might be a sweet and sour sauce. Chicken with Mixed Mushrooms - 4 - Yep, I'm a mushroom freak. I could care less about the chicken, but mushrooms? I'm there. Stir-fried Clams in Black Bean Sauce - 4 - These were okay. My wife said she got a bunch of empty shells. That happens sometimes. No idea what other people got. Chicken Chow Mein - 5 - got the skinny noodles fried soy sauce chow mein style. Yummy! Snap Pea Beef - 4 - Beef was tender. Could have used more snap peas. Overall, a decent dish. I also included pictures of the two "set" menus. Note that $88 comes with a 1/2 Royal Chicken while $168 comes with a whole Roast Duck. Service was okay. Food came in spurts. Soup. Wait. Two dishes. Wait. Wait. Wait. Most everything else. Wait. Last three dishes.

Usually love it, but bad experience today. 2:30 pm, 9/4/25. Not very busy. Service was very slow…read more Coconut chicken soup was just ok. Chicken was not flavorful. Found two hairs inside. Come on, HK, you can do better.

Prices Were reasonable and big portions for the food. Service was friendly and fast. The waitress made some good recommendations too. You actually pay for your order when you get to the store, which I would be worried for them if people place orders and don't show up. I ended up ordering Basil Eggplant with Chicken and Prawns, as well as Deluxe Chow Fun. The bag was fairly compact when I picked it up - two plastic containers of the dishes. When I opened up the container, they were overfilling! I'd say very generous portions for the price. -Basil Eggplant with Chicken and Prawns: I don't feel like this is a really traditional Chinese dish, maybe a bit more Thai, but it was delicious! I also wasn't expecting the sauce to be as red as it was. This dish had a lot of basil which I liked, and a lot of flavor. There was a good amount of protein. -Deluxe Chow Fun: Pretty good, the noodles were soft and bouncy, good amount of flavor, and also lots of protein. Service during pickup was friendly. When I was there, it seemed like the restaurant is popular, with both diners and people coming in to pickup their to-go orders. This is a very solid place for Chinese food!
