September 2026. They have daily specials and I came in on a Tuesday for their STEAK AND BEER $15! It truly is a great deal and comes with a side of fries, tater tots, salad or sweet potato fries (no upcharge). We ordered 2 steak specials. Personally my steak was good, juicy and tender. However the other exact same steak plate was tough and chewy. Fair to say you have a 50/50 chance of getting a good cut :/. The beer was ANY choice from their list which is nice. On top of this they also have happy hour on drinks, half price beers and other specials like $5 margaritas and such. The beer averages $8-9 a pint so $4.50 ain't half bad. I was so looking forward to the reopening of Limerick's, but was really disappointed recently. I went for a birthday drink, I'm a simple kind of girl, vodka tonic is my drink. Ordered and it was vodka soda, so I told the guy who took our order, I watched him make the second drink and he used the liquid pump for the soft drinks, unfortunately again, no tonic, it tasted the same. I really didn't want to send it back a second time, but my daughter told me, how are they supposed to know if I don't say anything. So I did, I explained it was still the same, no sweetness, just bland, tonic normally has sugar, I explained maybe the package they were using, was out of whatever? I didn't realize they used syrups like for soda or carbonation, I always saw bars use tonic from a bottle. The guy took it back a third time and I watched the other bartender taste it, at that time I saw them changing something underneath the bar, he brought back the third drink, it was cloudy and did taste better, but at this point I was over it, I had one drink there for my birthday, and left after that. Super disappointed. I have to say when they closed down, (still not sure why) I wasn't surprised. I had some good times there due to the staff, but other members of the staff could be difficult. Several times over charged, and not very accommodating when I had to complain, but we would still go back. After this I don't think I will be back anytime soon. Nothing was updated during the year they were closed, they said they were renovating, not true. The woman's restroom still had broken hand towel dispensers, and soap dispensers, the door lock to the handicapped stall is still messed up. Nothing at all changed to make any upgrades. Really makes you wonder why they closed down to begin with, or shut down? read more

It is official, they're back! One of my favorite spots in Alhambra with the awesomest bartender and staff is back and on time for this years football season. I Noticed some movement so had to confirm it and it is a fact that they are back! Currently they're open from 3pm-12am or depending on business and theyre still stocking up on supplies. As of today they have a mostly stocked bar with five beers in draft and more to come. The kitchen is open with a slight change in their menu options. The same old friendly faces are working there again and the place is just as relaxed and chill as before. They're having their grand opening soon - follow on IG to stay posted. read more

I been wanting to stop for sometime and something local to get me out of the house after losing my father to "cancer" this past Monday. My lady picked me up wanted to see the Rams game I told as long is not crowded did feel like handing a lot ppl. We walked in very nice establishment and number of TV's or you can sit outside the patio overlooking Main Street. We decided to sit inside the gentleman who was our waiter offered to change of the TV's to the Rams game after noticing we were in Rams gear. I had 4 tacos special $2 each chicken and asada. My lady got the spicy chicken sandwich the waiter suggested omg that was huge sandwich and delicious. The ambience was nice at 9pm they were having karaoke which is not our thing, but i know few of my ppl would love. My lady a drink and definitely they were not shy on the shot they put inside I had ginger ale. Overall we had awesome experience especially few hours I wasn't grieving. My niece and I popped in on a Thursday night around 8 p.m. and the place was pretty empty just a few guys at the bar and a couple outside. We ordered easy drinks a paloma and a whiskey ginger ale. The drinks tasted watered down and not very good. We sat the bar and realized the guys at the bar were employees there on their day off or regulars but it definitely made for an odd vibe. It felt like we walked in uninvited to a boys night hangout. The guys were talking to the bar tenders about jerking each other off and similar dumb locker room talk and jokes. It was clear they were seeking a reaction from us, it was awkward. We had one drink and called it a night. Definitely didn't feel like a welcoming place. I was very disappointed. We just moved to the area about a year ago and we're hoping this place could be a local hang. read more

My favorite bar before the closure, with their great vibes and daily specials. When I saw they were open, I had to come inside to see what changes. Luckily, it seems as though not much has changed except possibly new management? They have a limited menu right now but the staff said they plan to slowly roll out more stuff as they reopen within the next few weeks. I went there around 5pm, and it was almost empty. As soon as i entered, staff stopped me with hand gesture rather than how many people or greeting and asked me anything to help even before i try to take a seat. I told him i am gonna have some drink, and he was telling me to take high chairs since he is expecting some crowds soon. He didn't even ask how many people and try to put me on the tiny table. So i am not even allowed to sit on comfort seats when nobody else was there. It is very different from my last visit. Is it a racism or what? I had a really good impression here and visited multiple times with a good review for chill working with some drinks and this never happened before. This is one of the bars I frequent since they offer great food deals Monday thru Wednesday. Happy hour is popular and this place is never without a customer. The only drawback is the service and they have a high turnover on their wait staff as I always see new employees every time I stop by here. Henry was an amazing server who helped make my group's first visit surely not our last! He was great at accommodating our group size by putting 2 tables together. The music and TV's weren't distracting so that's a plus! Then Henry helped us navigate the All Day Happy Hour offerings since we came on a Sunday. We got some refreshing drinks and delicious food ~ we got one of the last Scotch Eggs and Egg Roll to share at the table. I also got the Shepherd's Pie which came out piping hot! As much as I hate to say this...Limericks reopened but things are not the same. Thr food was horrible. I had bacon that tasted freezer burned and dry as a rock. We even had one guy take our drink order and then he never came back...nor was he seen again. Weird! My boyfriend's drink was simple ( Vodka and grapefruit juice)...very watered down and did not taste like it had Vodka at all. Really disappointed...dont think we will be back. read more

Limericks definitely has their food program down. My experience with their food offerings has been nothing short of amazing. It's not fine dining but they offer great plated dishes that would rival a great steakhouse! The folks working here are super attentive and very knowledgeable about their food program. The service is great, never had a problem with getting sub par service here. The vibe is super lively when it gets crowded. If you come for a game, it gets packed and be ready for a limited menu on food items. People will probably ding them on this but when you have a small kitchen and an even smaller kitchen staff trying to turn out hundreds of plates at one time, you'll understand why they have to go with a short menu on game days. Well I tried them when they first opened and was not a fan, and now I gave them another chance, and I guess it will be my swan song. It's supposedly an Irish pub, but it feels more like a standard sports bar inside. Located on the busy main strip of Alhambra with all the restaurants between Atlantic and Garfield, sits Limerick's. There is free parking in the back, which is good. Service is actually incredibly friendly and attentive. I'm sure if I complained about the food, they would've taken it off, but I didn't see the point. The food here, at least the Irish food, is just not good. Went on a Tuesday night, so one dish we had was the special - a "top" sirloin with a side (got tater tots) and a beer (got a perfectly poured half and half - the best part of the meal). While they can pour a mean Guinness, the steak is smothered in a not so terrific gravy and mushrooms. It was okay, but not something we'd get again. The most successful dish was the spicy chicken sandwich my kid had. He said it was decent. I had the sheperd's pie, which was a disaster in my opinion. It needed way more potato and less cheese on top. The inside was soupy and didn't have a great flavor. What struck me the most and was off putting is that the cast iron it is served in had a strong rusty smell, probably from cleaning products or just from age. Either way, it overpowered the smell of the pie and made for a very unsavory experience. I didn't finish it. The waitress did take notice and asked if I didn't enjoy it. But what can they do. Someone must like it. I don't. Basically, while I would maybe come in for a half and half if I craved one, I seriously doubt I will be eating the food here again any time soon. Cannot recommend. Griffins of Kinsale in South Pasadena is close by and so much better. read more

A couple months back, my housemate and I were walking on Main Street and stumbled upon Limericks Tavern. We've been back almost every Monday for their $10 Burger + Beer happy hour ever since!! My go-to order is the Limericks Burger with seasoned fries. The Limericks Burger is pretty amazing. It's cooked perfectly, super juicy, and loaded with crunchy bacon and a really good whiskey bbq sauce that's sweet and tangy. They also have a great selection of beers on tap, from local crafts to popular favorites. I found that the Einstock Toasted Porter to be really refreshing and pairs well with the food. I was looking for a spot to meet up with friends and Limericks seemed ideal. However, what I didn't expect was to arrive to a completely packed house due to the NFL Playoff (49ers vs Cowboys). We were greeted immediately by a very nice man. He asked if we wanted a table and sat us at the last available booth. Our server Rihanna was delightful and kept her cool amongst the chaos. She recognized my friend from the bar where he works. Despite being busy our food came out quickly as did our drinks. I kept it simple with a vodka soda. One friend had a whiskey neat, and the other a Jack n' Coke. Our drinks were served in plastic cups, which I thought was odd but it was most likely due to how busy they were. I ordered another drink after the game was over and it came in a glass. One friend ordered a burger with fries, the other had a Vegan burger with onion rings. They both enjoyed their selections. I helped with the fries, which were quite tasty. Limericks Tavern is a modern gastropub that serves Irish & American comfort food. They also have 60 different kinds of draught beer. There are plenty of TV's - including one in each booth. It can get loud and lively during games, especially it its playoffs. There is an outdoor patio with heated lamps in case you want a quieter environment. Shout out to the staff. This place was packed to the gills, yet the service was not lacking. Several other employees checked on us frequently in addition to Rihanna. I'll definitely come back to watch a game or enjoy Happy Hour. Parking on the back of the building for 2 hours Easy to find. FOOD: as you can see on the pictures food portions are very big and delicious. Give it a try. I heard the chicken wraps and the poutine was always asked. SERVICE: we were here on a Sunday night so it's hard to tell if they will be busier on a Friday or Saturday. Henry was cool and informative about food and drinks and also he made sure we were all taking care of with food preferences. I planned to meet two girlfriends and wanted to find a casual place to talk and watch a sports game. I pass by Limericks Tavern all the time so I wanted to give it a try! There is parking on the street or if you turn to the corner parking lot when you pass the 85 degree bakery, you're golden! We walked in and sat next to the bar. The bartender, waiters and waitresses were all very friendly and helpful. Once we ordered drinks and food, it all came out super fast!
