4/17/25 So we ventured to see this place, Almansor Grill which is in the city of Alhambra. If we walked & cut through the golf course from Vincent Lugo Park, it's easily about a mile or so. Today was definitely the perfect day. Knowing what I know now as I write this review, we would return & bring friends here. It's about 78 to 80°F on a Friday a few minutes before 1 pm, surprisingly, it was low key--only a couple tables taken indoors by patrons and a set of guys on the patio. At the door, it said to seat ourselves & I immediately shot to the patio. The set up: once seated, the server comes with menus, you order & it's a sit down meal. Giselle was our friendly & attentive server, young & attentive. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito ($11.50) & I opted for build your own omelette $11.50 for a 3 egg omelette & choice of two items- mushroom and bell peppers accompanied with breakfast potatoes, and chilaquiles ($13.99) to share. The patio seating is fresh, airy, there are tables, outdoor furnitures (sofas) and bright orange umbrellas for shade. My photos captured these elements. The food arrived shortly, although not all at once. I didn't mind it all because the ambiance was so soothing with the sound of birds chirping away and the background of other patrons talking. The only complaint from Hubby was too many pototo chunks in his burrito. My omelette was hot, fresh ingredients, delectable & the potatoes were mixed with 3 colors of bellpeppers. Oh and the chilaquiles? Pretty darn good! The tortilla chips were crispy, perfect amount of green salsa, freshly diced onions & a sprinkling of cotija cheese. Was I famished or was it that good that I devoured everything? What's left was Hubby's potato chunk discards. Giselle returned a few times to ensure our experience is to our satisfaction & another staff also stopped by to check on us. Such a perfect meal & day-- I'm so happy with this visit. My son and I were new to this place, and we had a wonderful time! The indoor seating was so cute, and the outdoor area was beautiful, where we sat and enjoyed the birds, the view of the golf course, and the little lake. My son had the breakfast burrito, and I had the chilaquiles. I asked Dolores, who was so nice and friendly, for her suggestion on the chile sauce. She suggested red or green, and I went with the red, which I loved! I wish they put that chile in a jar so people can buy it. My son enjoyed his burrito and coffee. Overall, the service from Dolores, who took our order, and Dennis, who brought out our food, was wonderful. She was so sweet with her warm smile. Our experience was enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it. We'll definitely make this one of our favorite spots to eat. read more

We met for a late breakfast/early lunch on Sunday. It was so nice to see our friends at the Grill. I ordered my signature breaky 2 eggs, hash browns and hot cakes. We also ordered the french toast breaky and a grilled chicken sandwich. Service was 10/10 as it always is!! Parking is a pain because it's a busy space. The vibe is always it because they are so awesome. THIS WILL ALWAYS be my #1 choice for an all American breakfast. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs ($15.99). It's heavenly. It's one of the best in the SGV (or possibly all of Southern California). It's thick, yet it's juicy. The crust is thin but crackly. The ingredients screamed fresh! I LOVE Alamansor Grill (Alhambra)!!! I arrived at Alamansor Grill (Alhambra) on Friday (around 9:17AM). Parking is spacious. Its parking is shared with the golf course. Customers can order at Alamansor Grill (Alhambra) even if they're not playing golf. When I entered, Staff quickly welcomed me. Staff let me choose my own seat (inside or outside patio overlooking the golf range). I sat outside underneath an umbrella, and a friendly waitress eventually greeted me. Staff (receipt says Denise) is professional and friendly. Staff quickly answered my questions, and Staff worked hard. My food arrived in seven minutes and 36 seconds. As mentioned, I adored my Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs ($15.99). I selected my eggs to be scrambled. And I chose hash browns for the potatoes. It all had immaculate textures and flavors. The hash browns had an uncommon crisp crackle; the eggs tasted fresh & soft; the gravy is well-seasoned and light; and the chicken fried steak is hearty and huge! I felt taken aback by this Chicken Fried Steak's magnificence. This is my most requested breakfast dish at any breakfast diner... and out of many, many different breakfast spots, I'm humbled that the best one came from a restaurant at a f***ing golf course! I left Alamansor Grill (Alhambra) with a full stomach and a dumb smile. Regarding ambiance, Alamansor Grill (Alhambra) is clean and welcoming. There's an outside patio with a fresh airy breeze; the golfers are nearby, and customers can observe them playing. However, the only music is radio with commercials. The interior also has clean tables; there's also two large flat screen TVs showing the news or sports. Overall, I had a magical, delicious experience at Alamansor Grill (Alhambra). The food is affordable, filling, and cooked passionately. The chefs are very talented! If you love Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, this is a must-try! I am so happy!! 5 out of 5!! GO!! read more

Came for breakfast and decided to sit outside because the view is so nice! Lovely place for outside seating as you get to see people golf and lots of birds. We got the menudo, huevos ranchuro, and waffles and they were all good! I like how they dont skimp out on meat in the menudo. Our server was also really nice and attentive and checked up on us often. We tried this place on a whim and it was pretty good! The service was very attentive and fast. Nice ambience with a view of the golf course and the prices were decent too. I met some friends for breakfast here the other day. It's a nice little restaurant located at a golf course. I ordered the Chilaquiles Plate with red sauce, as the server mentioned that the red sauce was spicier than the green sauce. OMG!! It was super spicy! A friend of mine ordered the Chilaquiles Plate with green sauce, and she was literally sweating. Poor thing! So, if you like it super spicy, go for the red sauce! Came for their Sunday Brunch buffet! It's good to make a reservation, but I found that the day I went there were still a good amount of empty tables, so probably also fine to walk in. As advertised, there's unlimited crab legs, prime ribs, and many more like cod, chicken, etc. There were 3 made to order stations - omelette, waffle, and pasta. One side was also very Mexican style focused, with menudo, chilaquiles, and beef fajitas. The interior is also very nice and well lit, with a great view of their golf course. I got to talk to Dolores and she was so sweet and explained some of the plates from the menu. I haven't eaten here in ages, but had the pleasure of dining in on Easter Sunday morning and feasted on an omelette, hash browns, and some delicious French toasts! IMHO, this is one of the most affordable places to have brunch, and I miss being able to come here on weekends to enjoy a nice breakfast overlooking the golf course and Almansor Park. read more

Comfort food at a reasonable price. We came in on a Sunday after church with a party of 7. Service was quick and efficient. Food was good-no nonsense. We ordered hamburger with onion rings, chicken sandwich with fries, Rueben sandwich with fruit, nachos, 2 omelettes (one with bacon and sausage, the other one with mushrooms and onions) and a breakfast burrito. Prices for all entrees were around $10-$11. No complaints except that the Rueben was a bit salty. read more

This country fried steak craving has been bugging me for weeks now. Sister suggested this place. So I ordered the country fried steak with two over hard eggs which came with hash browns. Mom chose 3 items from the build your own breakfast- two eggs, country potatoes and pancakes. Sister ordered from the sides section- french toast, 3 bacon, and onion rings. Son got the tuna melt that came with a choice of side, he opted for onion rings. Then we also ordered biscuits and gravy. Our server Denise was nice and attentive. Found this place randomly while I was on a 10 hour road trip to San Diego. We came here 7 hours in the drive, super hungry, no sleep, dogs (toes) out, and lounge wear clothes on. Honestly yes, looks shouldn't matter but we felt bad for going in like that. Still received amazing service though! The area was located in the beautiful gorgeous golf range. I love coming here on Saturday mornings for breakfast! It's always fun to sit outside on the patio and watch people playing golf. You could also see the pond nearby. The food is always very yummy! They have breakfast and lunch sandwiches/burgers. Prices are great especially during these inflation days. Service is great! read more

We had some issues before at this location. Form some severs. Food has always been great and place is welcoming. But the server we have had after the rudeness of the other servers witch don't even turn to us any more. We'll Gizelle our new server is amazing extremely great service. I honestly had no idea that there was a diner / grill / restaurant. One of my gym members suggested this place as she lives in the area. Funny, I work in the area but never really paid attention to it! Now that we have work events, it is easier for me to drive near by and enjoy the simplicity of the restaurant. it also seems that they celebrated Mother's day brunch very recently and from what I could tell, it was reasonably priced. I do enjoy the attention to detail from the staff as we walk in and place our orders. plus, it helps to know there is a cute patio which faces the golf course, so at times you can breathe in some fresh air. read more

The food is delicious! I recommend the menudo or building your own breakfast plate. It's great for the price. The restaurant itself is not big, which is nice. The service depends on who your server is. There is an older lady who works the bar and is a server as well. She can be a bit forgetful and sometimes focuses too much on the bar. She'll leave one's food out and ready in the kitchen before she gets to it and brings it out to your table. I think it's sometimes a bit overwhelming for her to do both duties. I do enjoy that they come out and offer you refills on coffee as you eat. read more

I always order the build your own meal for breakfast BUT I just don't like how the alcohol is simply so darn expensive... a bottle of house champagne is $20ish dollars and it wasn't the best tasting one. I usually get the house potatoes, eggs any way I'm craving it that day, the bacon (which I wish was more crispy but that's just me haha) and toast which comes with 4 pieces. The French toast also comes with 4 pieces and some fruit. The prices went up but let's face it, it's 2023 so yea I would expect the price to go up BUT they only serve breakfast Thursday to Sunday now... NOT everyday. SAD read more

I had a chance to enjoy the food here from a banquet and it was the level a little above a normal wedding. And boy do I love wedding food! It was American food and the service was very good. Went with my family a couple months ago - there were 5 of us - on a...I think a Sunday for brunch. We waited for a seat for nearly a half hour, and then after we were sat down, it took another 45 minutes from when we were seated and after we placed our orders for our food to actually come. I think they were understaffed. The service was good, once we got it. The food is very solid, typical diner fare, felt like a homemade meal - the ambiance is comfortable. It was a good meal, despite the fact that it was slow. Bathrooms are outside of the restaurant and shared with the golf course. Clean. I've been a regular at this restaurant for a while now, and until recently, it was one of my go-to spots. Unfortunately, my most recent visit has left me so disappointed that I felt compelled to share what happened. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:15 AM. From the moment I walked in, the experience went downhill fast. The first thing the waitress (older female white/ Hispanic with short hair cut) said to me was, "The cook doesn't know what he's doing. It's gonna be a long wait." That was not only unprofessional--it set a tone that only got worse. Throughout the visit, the waitress repeatedly dismissed us, saying things like "It's not your turn yet" and "We'll get to you," with an attitude that made us feel like we were a burden rather than welcomed guests. When she finally came to take our order at around 11:50, she opened with, "I guess I'll take your order now," as if it was a favor to us. We asked how much longer the food would take, and she casually told us it would be another 30 minutes. At that point, it was clear we weren't wanted there. The overall energy was uncomfortable--like the waitress was doing everything they could to push us out. I ended up walking out with just a cup of coffee and no meal, which I've never done before at any restaurant. I've supported this place for a long time, and I've never had an experience like this. It's disheartening to see such a drastic decline in service. I sincerely hope this was just an off day, but unfortunately, this visit has made me think twice about coming back The highlight was the other server who served us coffee she was so sweet to us. read more

Went for a morning walk and found this little gem. Offering a simple affective menu with great views of the golf course. We were seated outside on a nice sunny day.The service was friendly and fast.
