A hidden gem! Small but spacious! Extremely nice server. Always happy. Always knowledgeable and accommodating. Food is fresh and comes out hot and quick. One of my favorite spots to go with my sister. I almost don't want to share (lol).

Great family owned brunch spot in Philadelphia! It is a small and cozy café with no fuss meals that deliver on flavor. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. They have many vegetarian friendly options on their menu and their espresso based drinks are delicious!

3j's is a small little spot with about 4 or 5 tables that seat 4, along with outdoor seating as well. Our server was Julie, I thought she said: Yuri; but my wife reminded me that I know I can't hear that good ‍ But she was very courteous and delightful, She took the time to point out every person who works there by name. She also made a joke about herself saying she's the worst server there; but myself and wife beg the differ, She gave great customer service. The food was amazing! Myself and wife ordered the omelette entrees, she also ordered a French hazelnut Latte and she said it was Soooooo gooood! I ordered their homemade Honey Mango Lemonade If you're ever in this area of Philly, take time to try them out, it's definitely worth it!

Great for people who are vegan, gluten sensitive, and vegetarian. Of course the meat eaters have a great selection as well. Highly recommend with staff being knowledgeable and great at promoting seasonal favorites. The environment makes you feel like you're eating in a cafe in the 1800's!

Nice atmosphere. Great breakfast food. I had the Eggs Benedict which is served on a Belgium waffle. My wife had the same but with traditional English muffin. Both were fantastic. Our server Sam gave us outstanding service. It's a cozy place worth frequenting.

FOOD We ordered the buffalo chicken salad and the fried chicken sandwich. The former was overdressed, which made the whole meal too acidic and unpalatable. When ordering the salad, I would ask for dressing on the side instead. The sandwich was substantial for the price, and its sauce paired well with the chicken, which was extra crispy and well-breaded. It is something definitely worth ordering if you decide to visit. DRINKS We ordered a hot cocoa, which was honestly the best thing of note during our entire dining experience here. It was a good amount for the price, and the marshmallows were a nice touch. AMBIANCE The front of the store is aesthetically decorated while the back of the store is somewhat gloomy and unlit. Your experience with the interior depends on where you are seated. SERVICE The service here is subpar. Although there was numerous seating at the front of the restaurant, my friend and I were placed in the very back with minimal lighting and overall very secluded when we could have been seated up front where everyone else was seated. We were also not checked in with until we went up to the servers to ask to order, to ask to pay, etc. I would recommend frequenting elsewhere, as there are great brunch places in the Old City area that provide better food and services. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. FEES Paying with cash is slightly cheaper than paying with card as there is a 3.5% convenience fee.

Long wait for mediocre overpriced food. "Sorry for the wait", should be this joint's slogan as we heard this 5 times. Still, it was pretty crowded here and they led us to tables hidden toward the back of the building past the kitchen which was kinda novel. The only thing good was the hot chocolate. read more

An excellent place for breakfast! Went here twice on a long weekend I was in town. Had the biscuits and gravy my first visit and a bagel breakfast sandwich the second visit. Both dishes were excellent, among the best of all the places I dined at during my stay! The service was excellent and friendly as well! Will definitely go here again the next time I am in Philly! read more

This place is perfect! We are here from out of town looking for coffee and sandwiches to take with us into our conference. After going to 2 other "coffee" shops we stopped in here and wow what a perfect gem. Coffee is delicious and the gourmet sandwiches are supper tummies and within Perdiem. Inside and outdoor seating. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend this place. We will be back tomorrow read more

I had the tofu scramble and it was super filling and flavorful! The iced chai latte was also very tasty. Service was great. They were friendly and attentive. The space is a little cramped and A/C was weak, but they have fans going and we were comfortable once we sat down to eat. And we didn't have to wait for a table! They were able to turn tables over quickly. The price is also very reasonable. read more

as a huge fan of 3J's market in northern liberties, i was thrilled to see that they were opening a more formal sit-down establishment in old city. don't let the smaller storefront fool you - there's another dining area in the back with tables and a cute bar. my boyfriend and i have enjoyed popping in to try their breakfast sandwiches and drinks, and have loved every selection! the owners and staff are friendly and welcoming, it almost feels like visiting an old friend's house to sit down and enjoy a good meal. there's very few spots for good breakfast sandwiches in old city so 3Js might have cornered this market! Randomly decided to stop in and very glad we did! The food was top teir, from the chicken and pancakes, all the way down to the gravy. The restaurant was very busy when we walked in, but the helpful staff luckily seated us at the very last table almost immediately. Will definitely be back whenever I'm in Philly. read more

This is not the place to come if you aren't patient or have limited time. Servers were kind when they actually came outside but they're not coming back after you get your food so expect to have to go inside and flag someone down if you need something and when you're ready to pay if you're sat outside. Food itself was meh. I got the chicken and pancakes and was not a big fan. The pancakes were thick and filling but didn't seem quite done. The chicken was ok but their seasoning doesn't pair well with breakfast food in my opinion. Perhaps I made a mistake by asking for no gravy but I've definitely had better that only relied on the chicken and pancake/waffles to carry the meal. Overall didn't love it but at least the prices are fair. read more

Had breakfast at 3j's while visiting Philadelphia. The first day we tried to go was 12/27, just after the Christmas observed holiday. We were pretty disappointed since we walked from our hotel and didn't have a good plan B. The sign said they would be open 12/27 after the holiday, but no one was there at 8:30 AM. We went back the next day and had a great breakfast. The server (maybe owner) was fantastic and they were playing some Grateful Dead, which is always a good vibe. I ordered the classic eggs benedict. After she put the order it, she came back and said the ham didn't look good and they didn't want to serve it. I switched to the turkey sausage. I'd rather this than a bad slab of ham and appreciated the honesty. It was a great breakfast and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. My wife had the French Toast. Good size breakfast and she really enjoyed it. Coffee came hot and consistently stayed filled. I like that they had Stevia at the table, which is my preference, but rarely available at most diners. Lost one star for a no show on our first attempt to 3j's, but it's a small shop so they probably had a valid excuse. read more

LOVE this place! I live in Philly Center City so spoiled for choice and don't get to Old City as often as I'd like. Had an appt nearby and searched online for a good spot for breakfast. Several menu choices appealed to me so I stopped in. I'm so glad I did. The Breakfast Bowl sounded amazing online and it was all I expected and more. So so so good. I also love the ordering and paying online and staff were super friendly, helpful, and available as well. The ambience of the tiny dining room was warm and appealing and they have sidewalk tables as well. Just go! I wish this place was around the corner from where I live - I'd be in there at least a few times a week! read more
