Stopped here in BG, Ky and had a wonderful meal. The bacon wrapped dates w/Gorgonzola was, well, amazing!! Had filet and my wife had bourbon salmon, both great choices. Christina H. was our server, she was excellent and super sweet. It was our wedding anniversary and she had a happy anniversary dessert prepared for us (on the house). What a great experience last night at 440, we are from California and were looking for a great local restaurant. 440 was recommended by several people. I normally never write a review but this place far exceeded our expectations. Micheal was our waiter. He offered a lot of recommendations and everything was beyond delicious. We started with the cajon shrimp appetizer with cheesy grits and andouille sausage spring rolls. Delicious. The main entrees were spectacular. I had the filet medallions and my husband had grouper. I really need to make a greater effort to visit 440 Main more often. If I lived in Bowling Green, I would definitely be a regular. I have never had anything less than an excellent experience. The service is always friendly, attentive and knowledgeable without being pushy or overbearing. The menu items are always exciting and inventive without being odd or intimidating. Serving portions are generous and the food is always of the finest quality, prepared exactly as requested. All for a very reasonable price. 440 Main is quite simply one of the finest restaurants I have ever had the privilege of dining at. Keep up the great work! read more

From the vantage point of booking an act to watching the crowd and its attentiveness to the entertainment, I must admit this is one of the best audiences I have ever seen.Folks loved the show and service was fabulous. This is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants. My husband and I rarely get out but when we do, this is my top pick. Last night was probably our best experience of all of our visits. I had the Champagne Chicken which was wonderful!!! I ALWAYS order the creme brûlée every time we go. I checked with our waiter and he said they couldn't make it due to a problem with their torch. I was pretty bummed out about that. The chef went to various tables making sure everyone was enjoying their meals. When he got to our table we told him our food was amazing but we were a bit sad that there would be no creme brûlée tonight. Without hesitation he said he would be able to run to the hard ware store down the block and get what he needed to fix the torch. AND HE DID! I was able to have my favorite dessert. He went above and beyond!!! Our server was an amazing young man who was very attentive. My memory fails me as to what his name was ( Josh? Ryan?). He was spectacular!!! We felt so comfortable with him taking care of us. His attentiveness alone made the meal all that much more enjoyable. We will definitely request him on our next visit. read more

Thursday night is a great time to check out this restaurant...it is open mike night and the music is really good. Wines are 1/2 price on Thursday night. I ordered duck and it was delicious.....crispy skin and excellent sauce. The risotto that accompanied the duck was tasty too. We did return our Brussels sprouts because they were soggy but the manager was awesome and took them off the bill. I would go back to this restaurant because their food is great, the wine is good quality, and the service is awesome. This team knows how to take care of its customers! read more

Overrated. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and my crab cakes were rancid. The cheese with some kind of marinara sauce appetizer was terrible. Micki's bar on the other side is a decent place for happy hour (great mini pizzas), but I will never go here for dinner again. read more

Group of us visited while on a business trip. Great beer and bourbon selection. Good overalll was good - had the salmon and the gumbo for an appetizer. Group predominantly order filets - mixed results with a couple of the steaks overcooked. Staff was very attentive and did a wonderful job. We were visiting family in the area and this was our first time in. Sam was our server. He was very sincere and attentive. Our table had fried green tomatoes, mussels, and Cajun spring rolls. All were excellent. I tried the gumbo, which I really enjoyed. Cajun food should have some spice to it, but it should not be uncomfortable to eat. Many places are afraid to put enough seasoning in their dishes, but the gumbo was just right. The entrees were all spot on as well. I ordered a couple of Manhatan martinis, so I can attest that the bartender knows what he is doing. Our group all concured that we will be back. The only regret that we found the place the last night of our stay, or I would have come back to try out the bar next door. 440 Main St., earned all five of the stars in this rating! read more

This place was extremely good!! I was here with my family to celebrate in the Bowling Green area, and I would come back any day. We ordered two appetizers to split between the eight if us, first was the "egg rolls" which said they were egg rolls and looked liked it on the outside but when you bit into them you got a flood of warm cheese that you were not expecting in the least!!! Then the next appetizer was the artichoke dip, which was hot and very creamy and good. For my main dish I had the Cajun inspired jumbalia , which was filled with big meaty shrimp, sausages, and lots of good, spicy, Cajun inspired flavors. For the dessert I had, for the very first time, a banana foster. It was good but in my opinion it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Luckily I was able to share it with another member at my table, so it was still very sweet but didn't over indulge in it. I adored the atmosphere here!! With the waitresses always being their checking on you and filling up your glass, to the white table cloths and china sitting on the table, to the art on the walls. This is a very nice restaurant in the heart of the very small town of Bowling Green Kentucky!! I would certainly come here again! read more

Skip the chains out by the interstate and head for downtown. Superior service and very tasty food located in the historic downtown - on the square. Menu includes steaks, seafood, and creole/cajun dishes. Great bourbon drinks also. Clearly a real chef involved here. read more

Have eaten here tons of times in the past and has always been decent but ate there this past Thursday and it was better than any time I've been. The service is always pretty on point but the food, the specials in particular, were amazing and compared to those in the past, quite memorable. The kitchen was also happy to put together a really nice vegetable plate with rice for my mother. Great experience and the chef came and chatted with us twice during our meal. Very friendly and obviously doing wonders for the kitchen. Keep it up! Maybe next time I'm back there will even be a vegetarian plate on the menu. read more

Was in town from New York for a baseball tournament with my son and his friend and needed a good meal. Well we found it. The food, drinks and atmosphere was awesome. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food. Most of all our waitress Isabella was extremely polite, well versed on the menu and provided us with exceptional service. In addition, the owner or manager is a true gentleman. My son ordered a dish that although was cooked to perfection he just did not like it. Isabella noticed that he wasn't eating it and immediately without hesitation offered him another meal. I insisted on paying for the dish as there was nothing wrong with it, but both Isabella and the owner insisted back that it was being removed from my bill. I felt bad about it and consider this a very generous policy. The owner said "that's how we do things around here." Great place and great people! Highly recommend. read more
